Though we do give back to the community in many forms. A few years back, I signed up my two children for Tiger Shulman, the contract was for a year and the total was almost $6000.00. And though the Sensei was nice & cool with us, he was still running a business and rightfully expected payment. If one of my clients said one thing, and did another and gave me the runaround, - and not paid their monthly invoice, Id have "NO BUSINESS" and livelihood. Get a grip. Read your contract. Do your homework before wasting everyone's valuable time and efforts.

I received a question from another regarding the COVID procedures at UMA, but type space was…read morelimited, so here is the detailed response. The abbreviated one is in direct response to the question. Here goes... First, they have a special ventilation filtration system in their HVAC, which they always had because, even before the pandemic, they felt it was important. They take temperature checks upon entry into the facility and everyone gets a squirt of hand sanitizer. There is enough time between classes to allow one to leave before the next gets in and they sanitize all the mats between every class. Any equipment used is always and has always been wiped down. The mats have safety distance dots so participants know what is actually 6 feet. Everyone is wearing masks, including the children, who I must say have been little troopers through all this craziness. They also have someone who comes in daily to clean the entire dojo. The equipment is immaculate and always has been. I really don't believe they can do more than they already are now. They are also a great group of people. If you stopped in before signing up, you would see it all for yourself. They would be happy to answer all of your questions and show you around for themselves so you can see firsthand. I suggest calling first only due to the schedule and current times to make a time good for both of you and them or stop by at the time one of the classes is set to begin so you can see the procedure for yourself. I personally feel comfortable with my child attending classes here. We didn't return to all activities, I researched and had to feel very comfortable with the establishment and precautions being taken to ensure safety and health of all participants. This pandemic has taken a toll on all of us. I feel comfortable here and UMA gives my daughter some positive outlet to all of what is going on. It is really wonderful to see her smile and engage with others which has been really lacking due to everything. I hope this helps...

He is very technical and precise. He makes sure the children are learning the proper techniques as well as having fun. They focus on controlling your body and mind and having discipline. They have wonderful programs such as the Black Belt Club and Leadership Club. The leadership club is a very demanding program where the junior leaders must learn how to lead a class and be role models for the younger students. They have many events throughout the year for the students, such as movie nights, a holiday party and a summer picnic. The school gives a sense of community.

The instructors that initially instructed my child were not saints, occasionally the instructors challenged each other and said some inappropriate things to one another. I never heard or witnessed these teenage instructors bullying nine yr. olds. It was not in their nature they were raised properly. This all changed. As time passed a new wave of teenage instructors filled in the position of the old guard. The new wave of teenage instructors were not as fair, they were not as disciplined and they were far from professional. The environment changed from the teenage instructors occasionally challenging one another too an environment of teenage instructors that took pleasure in frequently criticizing one another. The straw that finally broke the camels back was an incident where a teenage instructor belittled and bullied my son in front of the other teenage instructors. The bullying incident towards my nine yr. old son by the disrespectful teenager instructor incident was beyond cruel. It was malicious and showed a lack of civility. If you want your kids to be a punching bag for some teenage instructors that derive great pleasure on picking on children send them to Rya's Martial Arts.
