Great place to have your boat in dry storage, is if you have a larger vessel to lease a slip, the staff is very helpful!

Surfside Beach Charters - Did somebody say fish tacos?

Steve started to chum and said, "Hopefully, the fish will start coming within an hour." He obviously knew his stuff because were were reeling in monster red drum after monster red drum within the hour. We also caught 3 Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks! We had 3 children on the boat as well and Kevin & Steve are great with families. I've been on other charters where the captains were crude and profane in front of my children, but Kevin & Steve were classy from start to finish. Thank you to Kevin & Steve for an absolutely incredible morning on the water and for making a fish memory that will last a lifetime.

Want to catch some fish? Are you near/visiting Surfside Beach, Texas and want an awesome…read moreexperience with a salt water fishing guide? Then call Surfside Beach Charters! Captain Kevin or Captain Johnny will give you the best experience that you can get in the Surfside/Freeport area without a doubt! We were honored to be aboard with Captain Kevin on "Size Matters" (a fine vessel primarily slated for full-day federal waters fishing trips), the larger of the 2 boats. "Live Action" is the "smaller" vessel, but moreso different by design and primarily for 1/2 day trips in state waters. When you call, you'll hopefully get Sharon (Captain Kevin's wife). She's in control of the calendar/bookings. Should you reach Captain Kevin, he's likely on a trip when you call (esp. if he sounds otherwise preoccupied; and yet we heard him on a call to be so kind answering many other questions that weren't directly related to fishing!). So, should this happen to you, please understand & simply call the other # listed! Oh! I must mention an incredible side note: our trip was delayed! Captain Kevin called me early in the morning of our scheduled afternoon trip. The waters were too rough & wind was bad: he initially cancelled our trip for ALL of our behalves. Turns out, the next day booking cancelled. He called us back to reschedule the trip or to refund our deposit. The timing was right: It was better conditions and we had the time, so we jumped at the rescheduling opportunity! Fishing: what a good guide knows best! Surfside Beach Charters know where to go to catch fish! (I have no intention to slam anyone else, but it's really cool when you pull in & here that "other" charters didn't do or fair as well as we did!) Your capt will ask you your goals and do his best to meet your goals & exceed your expectations. But always know, THEY nor WE are not always able to achieve ALL expectations...that part is up to the fish and the conditions. Our day wasn't the best for some fish, but for others it rocked! Family fishing: 2 parents & 2 kids... our kids were seasick the majority of the time: 1 never saw a fish caught (puking or eyes closed, wishing he stayed home); the other reeled in a few fish, but was reeling over the side of the boat for other reasons! "Sea bands" don't work worth a flip, FYI. I took Dramamine too late (1 hr prior to trip, as directed): be sure to take it at least 3-4 hrs in advance (I was fine for the 2nd half of our trip). Captain Kevin was SO sweet during the wretchedness: he slowed the boat for big waves, did his best maneuvering the waters to minimize "ugliness" (choppy day out there for us!), drove fast when he could, fished "for me" when I needed to gather my composure, and handed over the rod when I was ready...Captain Kevin is da bomb! Saltwater fishing charters are not cheap, but the experience with a solid outfit is worth every penny! Included in the price is filleting your fish caught, and wonderful bounties await as they filled our bellies (with plenty more to come!): Freshly caught fish = the best fish you will ever eat! Be sure to tip your captain well, especially for a successful adventure ($50 = goals achieved; more for "blew my mind awesome!"). We absolutely recommend Surfside Beach Charters for guided saltwater fishing charters: you'll catch fish, you'll be treated professionally/down-to-earth/"real", you have experienced captains, your accommodations are "sea-worthy", you'll be eating well, and the experience is priceless! Thank you, Surfside Beach Charters: you're 1st on the list for our next chartered saltwater fishing expedition! Life memories were made today! May they help make lasting memories for you too!

Those website pictures are old. The place is falling apart. A-dock is newer, but power is bad. We had 112 volts with nothing on, went down to 106 volts with 2 air conditioners on. It kept tripping the 50 amp breaker at 26 amps. So, we ran just one a/c in the salon while watching tv, then swapped to the rearr berth a/c to sleep and shower. We called the harbormaster but they leave at 5 pm. We were on our own. The breaker tripped aeveral times during the night, and its summer. Wake up, dreas and fo outside and reset several times. While we were there, their biggest dock, F-dock, cement dock crumbled and fell in the water half way down. The boats on the second half of rhe dock are no longer accessible. The resturaunt is fantastic, live music, great food. The swim up bar is nice. The condos and pool at condos looks real nice, the rest of the place is a dump. One guy said he had to fix his own electrical pedestal so he could keep his batteries charged while away. We also had no water at our dock pedestal.

Contrary to the previous review... I would not recommend stopping by this club. It has so much…read morepotential but is clearly under managed. Most areas are empty (used for storage) and appear run down and ruined. The staff are teenage boys who have no interest in helping the customer and clearly have not been trained in customer service. It isn't that they are rude, they just don't care. I watched as one teenager called for someone to assist us- awkwardly listening to their conversation in which they clearly didn't have effective communication... While we waited for the Harbor Master to arrive, the staff played around on their phones and asked us to sit by the pool bar which had tables and chairs pushed into a corner and was not clean... We left before getting information about the boat slip. Huge potential. Zero execution.
