Brothers Harley-Davidson is a fantastic dealer. (No I'm not related). I have gone there mostly for parts, but have had great times and discussions with their showroom personnel. Whether Autos or Motorcycles, I feel you pay for diagnosis and evaluation. Anyone can twist bolts. My GF has a 2008 H. Softail, and I have a 2004 Road King Police. Every single time I have called about parts, the discussion migrated to the how's and why's for replacement, and future preventative measures. I even called mid-replacement because the re-install sequence did not present itself to me, as I looked at all I had removed myself. They texted me an exploded view image. There is a reason you don't see Harley's parked outside a therapist's office. Brothers Harley is a great experience. First time I went there I was welcomed with open arms from a staff member named Colleen. Colleen saw me looking at the 2018 Fatboy and immediately told me to sit on it. I fell in love with the bike and told her I had the Army Classic Softail. It was no hesitation she helped me with the trade in and I got great customer service from her and also the owner Ralph. Ralph is a greadude and knows motorcycles in and out. The customer service at Brothers is great and I live in Meriden where Yankee and Gengras Harley are right down the street from me. I bought the 2018 Fatboy 114 and love the bike. Brothers service helped me out with parts and I got my exhaust and other accessories on at a great price and timely manner! Went there looking to buy a bike and was simply not impressed. Sales staff was mediocre at best and didn't really seem like they wanted to sell me the bike I wanted. They had no intention of negotiating on price or anything and made that pretty clear from the get go. In the end I went to another dealer and got what I wanted at a great price and truly got to enjoy the Harley experience somewhere else. FYI I went there on October 31 at 8AM for the Halloween scratch off deal and to look at bike's. The scratch off was advertised on the website and the salesman even said to stop down and we will test ride a few. stopped at 8 & 8:30 AM. Place was deserted. Well, I bought a 2018 Heritage form them at the end of November. I wanted to wait until I had service done to give a more informed opinion. I just had my 1000 mile check up done and I gotta say that I'm extremely happy with the purchase, service and honesty of Brothers Harley. I came in with a price I wanted to pay that I felt was fair for both parties and Ralph agreed without any additional mark-ups or crazy add-ons. They didn't bust my balls as I went through the purchase about having to have "this special warranty" or "you gotta have rust proofing and floor mats" lol. Made it simple and got me out the door (with my bike!) in a very quick manner. When I brought the bike in for service, I ended up coming when service was closed. Bob Jr. took me in anyway and processed my bike with the few concerns I had in addition to the regular service. When I went to pick it up, I was able to talk to their service manager, Kevin on my concerns. He spoke regular "bike language' and I didn't feel like I was getting some flakey salesman bullcrap. One concern I felt needed to be addressed a bit more. He said go right ahead and leave the bike and he would check it out himself the next day (doing a 'round the country tour with the bike so I needed to be sure). Which he did and he ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK THE VERY NEXT DAY! Needless to say I'm pretty happy with the way I was treated/handled at Brother's. I broke down on 95 coming home from cape cod. I had my bike towed to Brother's Harley Davidson. They knew that I was from out of town and got my bike right in. They found the issue with my bike and had the part overnighted. The owner gave me a ride to the hotel and as soon as the part arrived they installed it and had my bike up and running. Charged me three hours labor to mount 2 motorcycle tires (@ $89 per hour). Total cost: 267 before tax. If it honestly takes you three hours to mount two tires, then an hour of your time is not worth $89. The price board clearly says "$45 balance tires", but I was only informed after dropping the bike off that that's if you remove the wheels yourself. Beware! There is one word for this: Theft. I will be telling anyone who will listen to me never to come here for service. read more

Such a disappointment service was terrible I went into store my wife bought 150.00 of clothes employees followed us around seemed a little different and uncomfortable. Went back out to my bike noticed a little drip from under primary went into service to ask Lady at desk if there is a tech available to look at the drip to see if I should do anything or would I be okay once I get back to NJ. They have a large selection of motorcycles, everyone seems friendly and willing to talk but that's easy when there's no other customers to help. I've never had any service there, because my old shovel (82 flhp) is easy to work on and there is nothing I can't fix on it myself. ( nowadays these new bike posers can't even change their own oil ) I did get parts for my 30 plus old motorcycle right over the counter without having to order them! great news for me! I come up from montville , so I usually only make it up there a couple of times a year for tea shirts ( 4 shirts $150. u s ) like I said, everyone is always very friendly and willing to answer any question i have, I spent over an hour and a half talking to mike , asking questions about the new harleys , and every thing related! ( thanks Mike ) Yes everything is way expensive there, but that's the price of buying the best! ( I guess ? ) I personally will not be acquiring any new H D soon, because real harleys don't have radiators and digital readout ! a little too "Oriental-ish for me , when I do decide, I will check them out , Maybe there must be room for negotiations , because there asking prices on used new and used motorcycles are higher than any I have found elsewhere Remember! service departments are expensive where ever you go , If you can't do it yourself, you have to pay the Price ! 'I've dealt with Brothers for almost 30 yrs I've seen it good and I've seen it really bad. I' ve always felt comfortable dealing with All the Paoellas Bob, Michelle, Bob Jr. and Ralph. Good people in my book. I think they are straight forward. They are in business to make money. Why do any of us go to work everyday.Most if not all of my bad experiences started when Marcel was hired as the service manager. He is crude ,lacks knowledge and people skills and is in no way helpful with any problem. Don't count out the entire dealership because of one bad department. I was riding my Electra glide ultra classic with the Danbury Ct Harley Chapter to Freedom Road Harley in Branford Ct. As I pull in I smell burning oil, I look down and my bike is leaking oil, I run into service and ask for help, with out hesitation they tell me to drive it around back and bring it in. Immediately there was a mechanic looking under the bike for where the leak was coming from, he assessed it was the oil cooler. They called around and searched for a new part, it would not arrive for a few days. The mechanic stepped up and said he could fix it temporarily to get me home. I went across the street for lunch and before I was done eating, Freedom Road Harley called to say they were done fixing the oil leak. To my surprise as I Picked the bike up they had washed And cleaned the bike to get rid of the oil that sprayed all over it. To an even bigger surprise I WAS CHARGED NOTHING!!!!! I had a problem with my bike that I couldn't fix on my own. I called them and told them the bike wouldn't start because the ECM had been unplugged and that I needed them to enter the passcode back into the computer on the ECM to get the bike started. They said "no problem bring it down and we'll get it fixed". I set an appointment for the next day and when I tried to drop it off they said they wouldn't work on it because the Bike wouldn't start. When I asked the Service manager "what's up" he said "nothing, were not touching your bike unless it starts" ( am I the only one who sees the problem here) Then he tried to say it was because the bike had been to heavily modified. I guess if you want the typical Harley Davidson Experience I.E they'll bolt as much Chrome garbage to a $40k land barge and sell you a lifestyle where they'll even pick up your bike and charge you $300 for an oil change, then this is the place for you. My husband recently purchased a 2015 HD. We did not buy from Brothers because we have a dealership that we have dealt with for a few years now (we have bought two cars from them). Unfortunately the other dealership is pretty far away so we figured for routine maintenance we would go to Brothers HD. We were never really "crazy" about the climate at Brothers but we figured we would give them a try. We received a recall notice for the bike and decided we would call Brothers for this and see how things go. My husband was rudely informed that they will not do recalls on bikes purchased from other dealers at all! I have never heard of such a thing! Of course we will be contacting HD Corporate in regards to this matter. Unfortunately Brothers atmosphere is very snotty and rude. I've never had a good experience in there. The women who work at Brothers HD look down on people and the guys are full of overinflated egos. It's like you have to be part of "the good ole boys/girls club" to feel welcome there. It's a very big turn off for a consumer who just dropped $25k+ on a "luxury" item. We want to feel like they are willing to assist us with what we need. We don't want our a**es kissed, we just want to feel welcome. HD is such a big market that I think they should be a little nicer in their dealings with new customers. read more
