Since I love all things mall I definitely love the Overstreet Mall. This little mall consist of…read moreshopping, doctors offices, barber shops beauty salons and restaurants. It tucked inside a few of the large buildings downtown and connect them all on one level. Not sure where you would technically say is starts but for me It begins in the Wachovia building (I think it truthfully starts in the BB and T building but I can't leave these few shops out in the Wachovia building) and continues all the way to the Hearst Tower. I have visited a lot of the shops and the restaurant inside. It's an escape from the elements outside and a cool thing to see. However on the weekends it's a ghost town. The mall caters to the working/ business people downtown. On the weekends only the section in the Bank of America plaza is open and only Walgreens and the lobby of the Omni seem to be open. There is security walking around though. There are several different entrances and exits for the mall. You can walk towards other building in the area and there are tons of tunnels and walkways that connect you to different restaurants and shops in those building. Went to "Overstreet Mall" last weekend (4/14) and it is that in name only. As with any and all…read moreshopping in Uptown Charlotte, it is long since dead and gone. The only thing open in this "mall" was a Walgreen's in the BofA building, none of the passageways were open nor did any of the nearby hotel employees even know they existed. Apparently all there is to do in Uptown is eat or drink, as there is a wealth of great restaurant and bar options, but there is no retail whatsoever. None. Really and truly sad because it's such a beautiful city, but unless you're looking for a bar or restaurant crawl, or to watch one of the local sports teams lose, you'll have to go elsewhere.

There are several places to eat as well, there is an express Chick-fil-a, Starbucks and Bytes Cafe. This is a great place to get a quick bite to eat or you even have the option to seat outside if the weather permits on a gorgeous day! There are plenty of tables to enjoy your breakfast or lunch with a group of friends or even by yourself! During Christmas they decorate very nicely, the village looks very festive great for an impromptu photo shoot possibly! I thoroughly enjoy walking around looking at all the decorations during the winter season! If you ever have time to visit the the Gateway Village you will not be disappointed. This is a wonderful place to visit anytime of the day!

Covered, in case of harsh weather, breezy, great sound for amplified music/speaking, and tons of space with power outlets everywhere. It's rather well-kept with tons of pretty green spaces, flowers, fountains, and art. Really dig this spot on the west side of Uptown.

I did my parking on the street so I didn't have Shannon's issues. Ground floor lobby and a second floor lobby, the latter has a Showmars and a bunch of tables for seating. It's quiet and reserved. Elevator to the 22nd floor was smooth and quiet. The ride back down was also fast and while it didn't stop suddenly, you knew from the extra weight on your knees that we're at the bottom now. I can't speak for any of the other floors but the 22nd is clean and tidy. Nicely lit, well carpeted and the doors to the offices look professional. If you're thinking of putting your corporate office here, you'll do well. [Review 20908 overall - 3508 in North Carolina - 1892 of 2023.]

Unfortunately, I was charged a fee to exit even though I didn't park. The attendant couldn't assist as he said the system was automated. He was very condescending and repeated himself over and over as if I was unable to understand him. He never offered a solution. I eventually paid the fee but called the manager. I got his voicemail and left a message requesting a call back. It's been 8 days and no call was received. I will never park in this deck again due to the bad customer service and I will tell all of my friends, social media contacts, and coworkers at a large uptown office to avoid this parking deck. I gave this one star because zero was not an option.

The way the looked at me and treated me was very rude. Like I stole these items and was trying to return them for money. The security lady even had the nerve to say, "why don't you return them to where you got your bag from?" I grabbed a random Old Navy bag I had at the house that would fit all the toys; doesn't mean I'm trying to cheat someone. Even so, it would end up being a store credit so I'll still be spending money to get what my son actually will play with or use. I ended up donating the toys to Goodwill because I don't shop here and I would never in my lifetime.

I didn't see anything over $40, so it tells you a lot of the big ticket items are not here. And I'm ok with that because it appeared less cluttered. I visited on a early Friday afternoon. This location recently opened. I was surprised to see items already on Reduced/Clearance. And I got them! I came looking for items I needed for a new project. And I wasn't disappointed. Only downside is that it appeared not to have name brand clothing or perfume like Ross. I could be wrong but that's what I noticed. I did see some name brand shoes. There was a security guard in the store just like I've seen at other Ross stores. I overheard the cashier saying they are hiring on the spot. I will most definitely return because the closest Ross to my home is 9.5 miles away. This store is less than 6 miles away from my home.
