Quality control is nonexistent! Bought some of their newly manufactured.223 55 gr. Vmax ammo. Very poorly made ammunition. Casings were so oversized, I could barely close the bolt on my Tikka T3X Super Varmint. I checked the headspace on several cartridges and found some to be anywhere from approx. .005 to .020 oversized. Could not close the bolt on 3 out of 50 rounds. Ammunition would not group worth a darn. Did I mention they cherry pick their product reviews?! On a positive note, I contacted Freedom Munitions, at their urging and they did issue a refund. read more

.44 Special fan and shooter. Their ammo, 200 grain copper plated at 850 stated fps, are a good looking round. Haven't taken them to the chrono yet to see what velocity is in my 2.75" S&W Model 69. I expect good accuracy, if not better. The production process shows promise in that regard. A 200 grain RNFP at 850 fps should be a nice load, and sufficient for EDC but they will be range ammo for all intents and purposes. The cost is very decent in a very indecent inflated cost world! Shipping was fairly quick! Ordered 6-23-2024 and order arrived 7-1-2024. Faster than some others, and slower than a few too. It would be nice to see ammo like this on sale from time to time. Might increase sales...who knows. Used to reload all my ammo, but haven't done that in 20+ years starting back up again as factory is JUST TOO COSTLY! My only question, and a very worrisome one is will I have failure of some bullets to exit the barrel? If so, I WILL report it here., and demand a full refund. I bought 1000 rounds of "new" 380 at a gun show. I had not used it, but when I did, I used it in a new gun, a Walther PD380. I thought the gun was messed up because it kept jamming up with a spent casing failing to fully extract. Later that day I started pulling the bullets and found the problem The second round I pulled apart had a mere 1.5 grains of powder. Of the 30 rounds I pulled, they ranged from the 1.5 grains to 4.5 grains with 9 rounds being below 4 grains and the other 21 round ranged from 4.2 to 4.5. This is ridiculous. I don't know what brand of powder they use, but the range of the charges was insane. Don't buy this crap. read more

I ordered 10 boxes of their new 308 A max ammo a few days ago. Took one box to the range this week. I immediately started experiencing " jams" and discovered the primers were being " blown" out. Out of 12 rounds, 5 had the primer problems. Came home and called the company. They told me to send all the ammo back for a refund- which I did. I wont be purchasing their ammo again. I placed two orders for the first time. Both orders were over 250.00 . There was a promotion for a free knife. The first box arrived and there was no knife. Customer service told me to check in the plastic ammo box that contained 250 rounds each to see if the knife was inside. It was ridiculous to suggest that the knife had been shipped inside with loose ammunition. Then I was told to email pictures of each item in the order, all sides of the box and the packing slip. I complied. My reply was that the box had been tampered with. There is no way that the box was tampered with . Why would anyone open a box to take a cheap knife and leave the ammunition. The last email I received said Sorry, We don't have anymore knives . Poor customer service and I got the run around. I will not order again. Poor handling of the situation. Very unprofessional company. I ordered 1000rds of 9MM and received someone else's order which contained 200rds of .380 I then try calling customer service and it just keeps me on hold until finally going to a voicemail. I leave a message and proceed to send an email explaining my issue. Later that evening I received a reply requesting pictures of every side of the box and complete contents of the box. The picking list included in the box had someone else name, address, phone number on it, so I'm assuming my picking list and personal info is in someone else's possession. I was then told to print a return label and mail the package back. I don't have a printer so I requested them to send me a label in the mail. No response. I asked if they could arrange for UPS to pickup. No response. So I had to go to the UPS store on my own time to fix their mistake. I had to make 2 trips to the UPS store because it was closed due to weather the first time. I finally get the package mailed off and the only compensation I was offered was a lousy 7% off my future order. That is a slap in the face considering the hassle of having to wait even longer for (hopefully) the right package to arrive and making unnecessary trips to UPS to fix their mistake. I wasn't expecting a huge compensation, but I figured at the very least they could refund my shipping charge or maybe send me a free ammo box or something. I've had nothing but good things to say about Freedom Munitions in the past two years. I use their 115 gr and 124 gr new manufacture ammo and buy it by the case. This most recent case, though, seems to be coming up with hard primers. I'm still testing it, but I'm getting one failure to fire out of every 150 rounds, give or take. I've got over a thousand rounds through the pistol I'm using and it's never had any issues. I removed and examined the striker, but that was pretty clean. I wiped it off anyway and went out yesterday with American Eagle 124 gr and had no problems, but today with Freedom again my fifth round didn't go off. I'll run it though another striker fired pistol soon and we'll see what happens. read more

Fast shipping! Easy website to maneuver! Great prices! Now why do they get three stars? Inconsistent primers. In each magazine, no matter what gun I use, I get at least one dud. When I look at the round, you can see it's a weak primer. They will eventually fire if I put them back in the chamber but I can only use these for practice. I'd never trust them for self defense, which sucks because I bought a good number of JHP along with FMJ rounds. I read online they know they have some issues with their primers and are looking to fix this problem. Because of the good experiences with shipping and overall service, I'd try them again but only for training. read more

I purchased 700 rounds of their remanufactured ammo about 4 weeks ago. I was excited to have found such an affordable supplier of 9mm, as I do not reload. My enthusiasm turned to disappointment, as I experienced at least 5 miss fires per box. I contacted the company and they informed me that they had a new primer supplier whose product proved to be unreliable. They offered to refund me for the rounds that proved bad. I declined the refund and inquired if there new ammo used the same primers, they said they do and have the same issue with misfires. So until they can guarantee that the primer issue has been resolved, I will not purchase from them. I shoot about 2000 rounds a month. And will continue to pay a bit more for reliable ammo. I have used Freedom Munitions for years and have never had a problem till this last order. With the news that all the major credit cards were now to assign a code on all transactions associated with "Anything Gun Purchases", I wrote the company and asked if there was another way to pay for Ammunition without using any of these above mentioned credit companies. The reply is what got me mad. The message stated, "if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about". With that, I replied, FU and I will not use the company any more. And I won't. On another note, the last two shipments of 9mm reman, I have found that the primers are especially hard. I get a dud round in every mag of 15 (sometimes up to 3). Hit or miss with Freedom (pun intended). I've had really good batches from them. And not so good batches. I got a bad batch of .40 from them. It was jamming in my Sig. Which is not normal at any level. Then one of the rounds made a muted sound like a half-load, and fell about 10 feet in front of me. Bad powder? Don't know. I also had a batch of 5.56 with multiple failures to fire. And at one point a firing cap dislodged and jammed up my breach. But, all in all, and a few thousand rounds. Freedom performs well. I've had worse. They're fairly accurate and very reasonably priced. read more

This ammunition is garbage. My wife bought 1,000 rounds of the X-Treme 115 grain RN new ammunition. The ammunition was so underpowered that it would not even eject from her PCC using a blue Spring Co spring during a USPSA match. A fellow competitor sold her some of his reloads on the spot that ran perfectly through her weapon. Unfortunately, I had purchased 2,000 rounds of the X-Treme 124 grain RN new ammunition in May of 2022. Last night was the first night I attempted to use it with catastrophic results. I was also running a PCC but at an IDPA match. The brass casing of the very first round separated into two. I cleared the malfunction and restarted the stage. The second round exploded in my chamber. I have video of it peppering my face. I also have pictures of the bullet and the two pieces of the brass casing. It blew the magazine free of my PCC, left half the brass casing in the chamber, and lodged the bullet a couple inches down the barrel. After enough time to clear all of this from my PCC, I continued to shoot. I could not run a single stage without constant failures to feed and failures to eject. At this point, I just hope I can run it though my carry optics weapon during practice. In our group of shooters, Freedom Munitions has become a joke between us for what people should buy that want constant practice to become better at failure drills. read more

I placed an order for several 100 rounds of ammo. After about 3 weeks I noticed I never received them. I followed up with the company just to find out they were "lost" by the shipper. First off the thought that 100s of rounds of ammo just got "lost" I find disturbing. Second when I asked if they were going to ship me replacements they told me that they had to file a claim and wait for it to be resolved before they could refund me. They could not ship out a replacement order at all. I'm so glad I found a different supplier. read more

They had a heavily advertised sale in December of 2017. It started at midnight PST and it lasted a few days; every night at midnight the sale would change to other products. They had website issues; a lot of people got really mad. I stuck it out and the website issue got resolved. I put what I wanted in the cart; however I was not given the correct price. Therefore I did not complete the order. The next day it was still in stock. They refused to honor their sale price when I put it in my cart. I was told they sold out, even though it was still available three days later. They got nasty with me when I emailed them about it. The next night a different sale started, and I was able to order at the advertised price. I just wanted them to honor their deal. I have spent over $7,200 with them in the last five years. Extremely POOR customer service! And now they filed for bankruptcy! No surprise here! When you give them constructive criticism on facebook; they block you! I have purchased several $000 worth of 9mm and 380 ammunition from Freedom over the past several years. The last batch that I got including their +p premium ammunition has had some serious issues. I tested 115grain +p, 124grain hp, 135grain hp and 147 grain hp today. Shooting these rounds from two different brand new Glock 19's OEM. The miss-fire rate was between 20 and 20%, which is totally unacceptable.The primers were struck but failed to fire. 115 +p 30 rounds = 6 miss-fires, 124 15 rounds = 4 miss-fires, 135 40 rounds = 10 miss-fires. 147 30 rounds = 8 miss-fires. As an NRA Pistol instructor I would not recommend using this ammunition. read more

I normally read reviews before investing a couple hundred dollars in to something but a family member told me about them and I paid for it this time... just like every other review on here I'm about to add one more to the pile. The quality of there ammunition is absolutely garbage! You mise well take your money and burn it. Because that's the equivalent of buying there ammo. I just did a AR build and have put a few hundred rounds through it (different brand of ammo) and never had 1 stoppage or misfire or any kind. With freedom munitions ammo. The rounds that actually went "boom" would somehow turn in to a double feed or failure to eject. The first four rounds I pulled out of the box and loaded in my magazine and shot were all duds. I still have two unopened boxes that I'm going to attempt to return and get my money back. But I have read that that is a challenge all in its self. So I will update my review once I go through the process of the return and will see what happens. PLEASE PLEASE listen to all of us who have left these reviews.. pay the little extra and get ammo somewhere else that will actually do what it is intended to do. The shipping might have been slow, but that is just the world we live in. What I found unsatisfactory is the week it took them just to fulfill my order for very common calibers. Took some FM new man 147gr ammo to my range a few days ago. I ran it alongside about four other range ammos through two different pistols. It ran flawlessly, and on average, it was the most accurate of the lot. The best part is that it is significantly cheaper than even the cheapest of reliable range ammo (S&B, Magtech, CCI Blazer, etc). In terms of VALUE, hands down, this is the best ammo I have experienced with. read more

I had serious issues with the quality of their remanufactured 9mm, primarily with bulging cases that would jam my pistol to the point of requiring a gunsmith to resolve. I also had problems with new 9mm hollow points that had markedly different seating depths. Initially was communicating with a service representative about the problems until, for some reason, the owner of the company butted in and started being abusive and insulting, just extremely unprofessional. The 357 magnum 125 gr XTP cartridges are sized wrong. They DO NOT fit moon clips.

I thought I was getting a steal with this ammunition, paying $150 for 500 rounds of 45 ACP. I bought it from a third party site, so I guess I skipped all the shipping issues and customer service. The weapon, itself, a pistol carbine, had its issues (slow charge, misfires, failures to feed, etc), so I took it for repairs. Weeks later, I cycled through the weapon without firing (racking it back and simulating a cycle), and it looked normal. When I went out to the range to fire it, I had multiple misfires still. I switched from the pistol carbine to the regular pistol, and I had a couple of misfires. Then I came with the elaborate plan and got another brand of ammo with the freedom munitions. The other ammo cycled clean through 100 rounds using my pistol carbine, while the freedom munitions ammo still had a series of misfires. A funny way to figure out that there was nothing wrong with my weapon, but it all worked out in the end as far as that goes. Needless to say, I would not feel confident in trusting this ammo if my life was on the line, but makes good for immediate action drills! read more

Called Freedom Munitions and was told I would have to send pictures which I can't no pictures no help. If i was able to send pictures how would they know I didn't remove the ammo based on on a picture ? Screw me once but don't expect seconds. Check with other venders first. read more

This company is terrible. This company apparently can't get an order out for shipment two weeks after it's placed. I live in CA and due to our stupid new ammo regulations, can't buy ammo online and have it shipped to me after 1-1-18. I ordered 1000 rounds from Freedom Munitions on 12-14-17, and get an email on Jan 3rd saying the order was cancelled. I decided to go with these guys because of decent pricing and the assumption that it shouldn't take more than a week to get an order out the door. I could've gone with someone else and actually received my ammo before the new year. If you're in any type of hurry, do not order from these guys. Lucky Gunner on the other hand has always gotten my orders out same day or next business day, and even though they seemed more expensive, clearly I, and any other Californian should've bought from them in December. read more

Freedom Munitions had not tried to communicate why this order was pending so I emailed their recommended address (sales@freedommunitions.com) on 6/19 and there was no response. UPDATE 6/22: On 6/22 I sent Freedom Munitions another email requesting that they just cancel my order. They did not comply with my request to cancel even though it was attached to their email response just 5 hours later. Their response: "We apologize for the delay in shipping your order. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, our shipping department is currently backlogged five to seven business days. We appreciate your continued patience as we work hard to fulfill every order as quickly and accurately as possible." Their response was on the 8th business day; which already exceeded the claim they were making. UPDATE 6/30: In spite of receiving my written request to cancel this order on 6/22, Freedom Munitions charged my account and shipped the order on 6/30 (18 days after the order was placed). Currently waiting for delivery. UPDATE 7/6: Ammo arrived 24 days after order was placed.
