We are a military family, and my husband is 100% disabled through the VA. He is a federal employee furloughed during the current historic government shutdown. Freedom Mortgage refused to help us as we have not received income for three paychecks. They offered a forbearance that resulted in them negatively reporting to credit agencies when payment was not made. They refused to remove the negative reporting and argued that we should have just paid on time. For this company that is supposedly run by vets for vets, their service is horrible. As soon as possible, we will refi with a company that protects veterans. read more

Customer Service is very lax. I had to talk with 5 different reps and they all gave me different answers. We the blind led by the unknowing. I gave one star because there was no way to put zero. Good luck. read more

Horrible customer service! My homeowners insurance sent a settlement check for damage to my home with both my name and Freedom Mortgage on the check. The only way I can cash the check to repair my property is for Freedom Mortgage to endorse it. I over-nighted the check to them and two weeks later I have not received the check. They claim to have mailed (regular mail not over night mail) it to me more than a week ago. I asked for a tracking number or registered mail number and they said they just sent my check through regular mail. I did not finance my home through these jerks, they bought the loan from another lender without asking me. If anyone from Freedom Mortgage ever wants to finance your property, you can find any number of companies that give your better service. read more

As a Realtor for 15 years, I have had many experiences with different lenders over the years. Fortunately, this was the first time, and my last time dealing with Freedom Mortgage. The customer service was horrible! There was a huge lack of communication with my first time buyer, the listing agent, title people and myself. As with most transactions, you hit a few bumps in the road, deal with them and move on. In this case, we got virtually no help from this lender. The title company, listing agent and myself, dealt with the majority of things that came up, that should have been the lenders responsibility. Not sure if this was ignorance or just plain old not knowing the process. I would highly recommend staying as far away from this company as possible. There are so many good lenders out there, do not choose this one! read more

Caution! If Freedom a mortgage handles money like they handle customer service all borrowers are in trouble. My home loan was recently purchased by Freedom from Homebridge in May and now in July they still can not get my loan set up correctly. I have called over 15 times and there are NO supervisors available, no one has a direct line or extension, and they are not allowed to give out their last names so you can never speak to the same person twice. The worst part is as a consumer we have no say in who owns are loan. Do NOT originate your loan with this shady operation if at all possible. read more

I would assign this mortgage company a 0 if the option were available. My load was reassigned from Homebridge, and that was the absolute worst thing that could have happened. The User Interface on the Freedom Mortgage website is a joke, as is their Customer Service representatives who have NO information. RUN, don't walk from this miserably poor company. read more
