Their rates are competitive, they offer a range of products for a variety of different situations, and their employees are knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. I find it very important to work with a regional lender that is conservative, transparent, and owns the loans they write (ie, versus selling them, like some other lenders did before the crash). With Third Fed, I always know who I'm dealing with. This is especially true since it seems that their turnover at this branch is low- many of the tellers and staff predated our association. They offered a forbearance that resulted in them negatively reporting to credit agencies when payment was not made. They refused to remove the negative reporting and argued that we should have just paid on time. For this company that is supposedly run by vets for vets, their service is horrible. As soon as possible, we will refi with a company that protects veterans.
