Went in on Saturday to top up my account. "Akshay K" took my payment and gave me a receipt. Come Monday, I get a text that my balance is zero and they suspended my phone service. Tried to call customer service, but . . . account suspended. Tried logging in online without success. Finally, went to the WIND store on Bloor, where the "customer service" reps flat out refused to help me and told me I needed to call 611 and speak with a customer service rep. So, I sat there and called 911 and went through an interminable menu until I finally reached a customer service rep, when I found out the idiot who took my payment didn't apply that payment to my account! The customer service rep on the phone applied my payment, and I was up and running again, finally.
I find it incomprehensible that in a field where customer service is traditionally bad that a salesperson would take my money and not apply it to my account, and that other sales people would flat out refuse to help me. Any other major mobile phone carrier would apply a payment to an account.
The other issue I have with Wind is that although I am able to make calls to the US, calls originating from the US do not go through to my phone. This has already caused one wire transfer I made to be cancelled, because the originating bank could not reach me by phone to verify the wire.
I am all for small, independent cell carriers and wish that WIND was competitive, but let's face it, the coverage sucks and the customer service is worse. read more
