Back in the day, Freedom, was regarded as 'the' furniture shop for the middle to higher class Australians. They filled in that void in the market, for trendy, quality furniture at average to pricey costs.
Nowadays, there are many other players in the market attempting at a slice of the pie. In fact, I think Ikea has tempted some of their customers away. Freedom no longer has the same appeal it used to.
When picking a lounge, I wasn't convinced Ikea is the place to go. So to Freedom we went. We had purchased a lounge with chase from Freedom and waited for around 3-4 months. After persistently chasing it up, it finally had arrived. To my horror, the chase was on the wrong side! It would not work in the lounge room- it's all wrong! We complained and they apologised and said they'd re-order it. No compensation, we were expected to just wait. Wait, we did and it arrived correctly 2 months later.
This was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. Not only did it take twice as long as their estimated wait, which they blamed on the factory workers in China, the customer service back was appalling. read more
