Crawl Space Nash

We had our crawl space encapsulated by Crawl Space Nash last week. These guys were amazing to work…read morewith. From the initial inspection Ali came out and did a thorough review of the space. He took his time to provide insights and details. I had two other quotes. I could tell one of the inspections wasn't as thorough from the items Ali found and they missed. The other quote was pure sales pitch, more interested in discounts if I signed that moment, wasn't as thorough, and tried adding unnecessary materials and steps. Getting scheduled was painless, I was provided updates as needed on availability all-in-all they got me on their books and taken care of pretty quickly. I was impressed from the beginning, they broke the quote down and offered to tailor the work to what we wanted to do in the space, giving recommendations on what they saw as the most critical and a full explanation of how the different items would help moisture control. Other quotes went through some of the required work, but only really provided a final price without any options to customize or break into stages. The crew that came and did the work were great. They did awesome work and were always super friendly. I inspected really closely, because of issues with other contractors in the past, and everything was completed to a high standard. The work lived up to and surpassed the 'sales pitch' (not that it really felt like a pitch). I'm very impressed with how good it all looks and from the check-ins during the process it was clear they were taking their time and making sure everything was completed properly. Ali and Clint both came by to inspect the work on completion and gave a great walk-through of all the equipment. I could tell they cared about me being pleased with the work and are super proud of their company and its standards. They took their time answering questions and I feel like they're goof people that will stand by their product and take care of any issues if they ever arose.

I recently wrote a 5-star review for Koala and feel the need to write another. The integrity of…read morethis firm and the people (it is all about the people) who work here are beyond reproach. After the initial job was done it was discovered that we had some gaps. I would not say those gaps were 100% Koala's fault but they took full ownership and got their people out here asap to help me make it all right. Again, it was not 100% their fault but they took ownership and made it right while the other company did the opposite trying to blame everyone else when they had the last clear chance to avoid the entire problem and then lied about what they did and did not do. In any event, a firm's true character is best tested when things go sideways. Koala made no excuses and prioritized their schedule to make this right. Jon, Cody and Ron came out today to make it right and did so in a pleasant and professional manner. Those guys are a credit to the firm and to the industry. If only all construction firms could match this level of integrity and customer service, there would be very little to complain about. Again, they stay in constant contact with me, did what they promised to do and sent a superb team out to my place to make it right. Thank you, BJ and your entire team. I will recommend your firm at every opportunity.

My HVAC was having issues keeping up upstairs, and insulation was pretty thin in my attic (there…read morewas one bay with none at all). I decided to call Koala to get a quote. The quote: they were pretty backed up getting one scheduled, but once we did, they arrived when they said, communicated well, gave a reasonable price, and let me know about an NES rebate that would pay for nearly half the cost of the job! With the rebate, it was a no brainer to proceed with the work. The work appointment: communication around the appointment was a disaster (this is the minus 1 star). The first time they showed up on the wrong day. I was at work, so the install didn't happen. I called the office and got it rescheduled on the day it was originally supposed to be. I made it clear I was only available during a specific window on that day. On the proper day, the crew showed up several hours early, and I wasn't available. No communication or anything. I called the scheduling center and they apologized and sent the crew back out a couple of hours after the original appointment. The crew: friendly guys and great communication. They got to work quickly, put down plastic to keep from tracking spray foam and other attic ickiness on to the floors, and brought pictures to show me as the work progressed. They found a major issues with my HVAC unit that 3 other HVAC techs missed - there was a huge hole in the duct work (insert dizzy face emoji here). They fixed that while they were up there sealing the ducts. It took them a couple of hours and they were able to wrap things up. The results: big improvements, but some technical oddness. Overall they accomplished what I was hoping for and for a reasonable price. My electric bill went down about 15-20% and the HVAC keeps up. If I'm nitpicking, they left a spray can and spray gun and some scrap insulation in the attic; the insulation wasn't perfectly even (thinner on the edges); and the duct insulation was strange (they spray foamed over the duct insulation joints instead of sealing the actual duct work inside the insulation - so there's not really any air sealing benefits there). Overall, I'm happy with the results, and I'd definitely hire them again.
