The next day, the clamp slipped and the door slammed down just after my daughter entered the garage. If the two car garage door did manage to fall on her, she would be severely injured and pinned by the door, until at least two people could lift the door up. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she responded with "it's a temporary fix", dismissing my concern. After looking at the receipt, it mentions "A clamped spring is a temporary repair. Due to safety guidelines, IDC Automatic will not RE-CLAMP a broken spring under any circumstance." If you state that you won't re-clamp a broken spring, then why would you even initially clamp a broke spring to begin with? By your own admission, the temporary clamp will slip. Why set this scenario up; and have the temporary clamp slip causing an approximately 600 lb door to fall on a child? The logic escapes me.

I worked with Steve in the past and he always performed excellent work at a very FAIR price. Todd has since bought the company from Steve several years ago. I was unaware of this. I called to have my pad replaced. Todd arrived and fiddled with it for a few minutes and then told me he doesn't have any pads but would need to order me one. My garage door and springs did not squeak but he wanted to oil them anyway. I had no other problems other than needing my pad replaced. My belt was fine but he said he wanted to tighten it. Todd found work to try to justify his time of coming out without a pad for replacement. He was here 20 minutes and charged me $125. He said he'd call me when a pad comes in and he would have to come back out for another service appointment. North Country Garage Door has lost a customer. Chase, Cascadia's owner, explained why people think so highly of his work. It's because they don't…read morereally look at his work. They trust him when he says he's done what he said he would do, and that the quality is first rate. We trusted Chase, too, right to the very end. What we learned, though, is that he's an exceptionally good liar. He lied about pretty much everything - even the things he put in writing. For example, his contract with us specifies that he would use brushes, not just sprayers (this was an exterior painting project). Not only did he not use brushes, he had no intention of telling us. His crew chief exposed the depth of this lie when he told us that they never had any intention of brushing our house. He said that in his 10 or so years painting, a house like ours would never be brushed. There were other lies, too, like the one where he said they'd use two coats of paint (they used one). But the biggest lie was the last one, when he told us he would do whatever was necessary to make us happy, and that we had a two-year guarantee. He told us this the day we handed him the final payment in full. He didn't come back when he said he would to fix the things we found initially and reviewed with him, and he's not returning our calls. This was weeks ago. As the real Chase has been revealed, we've looked more closely at his work, and discovered that they did a terrible job of prep. There's peeling paint in countless places. I have photos if you'd like to see them. I've had a few painters inspect their workmanship and I think it's fair to say they're appalled. We've hired one of these painters and will pay him thousands to fix the problems that Chase created. I want you to know it gives me no joy to write this review. We'd much rather pay to have the house correctly prepped and painted and move on. But we think it would be irresponsible to not share our experience with you.

Quote was reasonable; comparable to the last company we used about 2-3 years ago. The windows definitely needed cleaning! He also worked with me on a scheduling request. Windows looked great, super clear, and he took the necessary time to ensure each was cleaned as well as screens and storms; sills were also wiped out. I got a few quotes from him on some possible paint jobs and crown molding since Chase also provides that. (He said he guarantees his work for two years.) Extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly guy who seems dedicated to a work ethic of excellence.
