Christian and his crew were professional, efficient, and delivered high‑quality work that really upgraded the look and privacy of our property. Communication was easy, the pricing was fair, and the craftsmanship shows in every detail. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and the finished product speaks for itself. If you're looking for a reliable, skilled, and trustworthy fence company, I highly recommend Sierra Fence. We couldn't be happier with the results!

When we went looking for a contractor to build the new deck, we found Austin Outdoor Builders through their listing on Yelp and their website. Kit called me within a couple of days of my email, and really impressed me with his knowledge and experience with decks. I was concerned about City of Austin inspections, and he was very reassuring, pointing out that he talks to the inspectors by phone regularly. He booked a time to go over the engineering plan and the site, and again, I was very impressed when we met. He spoke of extensive experience in building decks, and asked questions about the site and the plan that reflected this. The quote was not cheap, but what is these days? My main concern was that they do the job properly and work with COA inspectors. Work started within a couple of weeks, and I was quite pleased with how the workers did their job. The only delay was to find an engineer to certify the footings before pouring the concrete. I had originally expressed concern about the durability of the support timbers, and Kit offered to coat them before laying the decking. Imagine my surprise when I found them painting the framing with high end professional oil based enamel! The only other delay was the week of the ice storm when Austin was closed for the duration. I was lucky to have family to remove the trees that fell on the lumber in the yard, because the next Monday they were back at work. Both the framing and final inspections went very smoothly and I am delighted with my new deck. I recommend Austin Outdoor Builders to anyone needing a deck.

I'll talk more about our full experience below, but a couple of months ago we had a terrible storm in our neighborhood and a very large tree (at least 25 feet tall) fell directly on our fence. Despite a direct hit, the fence stood firm with only a small dent in the cap board. Talk about quality work! More broadly, our experience was great. We worked with a super helpful person laying out the task who made some fantastic design suggestions (totally not on our radar) that we're really happy with. The work was done efficiently to mimimize the amount of time we had to keep our dog out of the yard. And when seasonal shifting made it impossible to open our gate, they came and fixed it months after the work was done. Great experience all around and would recommend to anyone.

I reached out to them and was quickly contacted by Paul who scheduled a site visit at my convenience, went over some design options and negotiated a fair and reasonable price. Rick and his installation team arrived on time, worked diligently and were professional and friendly throughout the build. These guys really know their business. With almost 25 years of fence building expertise, minor modifications were a snap, the fence was completed on time and feels like it will stand true for many years to come. The fence is sturdy, straight and level. Even now in the dead of winter, my yard looks great thanks to this beautiful fence.

Paul was extremely attentaive, gave us a quck estimate which was lower than the competition by a significant amount, and worked with us to have the fense installed in a timely manner. The materials were also of good quality. However, to have the top of the fence slope with the terrain, they left some rather large gaps at the bottom of the fence which I then had to address. They also use only a two run system (top and bottom) without having a middle runner. They really should specify that in the bid and contract. If we ever needed another fence, I'd consider using them again but would significantly tighten up the contract.

I got their card when they were on-site last year and I recently contacted them to build a matching baby gate to block the stairs. They came by yesterday to install the gates and the work is absolutely fantastic. This was a completely custom project, and it was done very well. They took special care not to damage the adjacent flooring and stairs when doing the on-site welding, and insisted that they do the small touch-up paint around the installation at the top of our stairs (which I told them not to worry about!). This was my second great experience with Austin Iron & Fence and I'll be calling on them again to do some work on our deck. I highly recommend them!

That's when I turned to Google and Yelp and found Griffin and Texas Deck Builders (True Built Fencing, the parent company.) After the initial quotes, and explaining our tight finances, Griffin pulled together a smaller quote to replace deck boards, the outer beam, and re-stain the deck, which we gladly accepted. Griffin went above and beyond in the follow up (which most other quotes we received didn't do), and while on-site, he was proactive and noticed that our fence and gate needed work - and cut us a pretty great deal since they were already there. The entire job was done within days after we committed, and our tenants couldn't be happier. The ratings on Google are true - these guys are the best. Don't hesitate to reach out to them. (I'm including some before and after pictures here for context.) Thanks for looking out for me and my tenants, Griffin. We very much appreciate your communication and effort.
