At the moment the website/domain is non-existent and I'm seeing that the company is permanently closed. I was able to get to their site last week, so what's going on? Up until recently, the program has been good to my son. But with the above issue, I can't go on-line to schedule his 3rd 2-hour training session or schedule the driving test. So freedom drivers Ed out of castle rock colorado went out of business. They have taken our money and left these kids without services paid for. Many families are working with the state of colorado to figure out how to get our money back. read more

Closed down while I was in the middle of the course. Waited for a behind the wheel lesson and no one showed up.

I purchased a driving package from Freedom Drivers Ed for my daughter right before Covid. She got her permit but wasn't able to take the behind the wheel training because of the pandemic. My parents live with us and we couldn't take the chance of her bringing Covid home. When I tried to reinstate my account they told me that her account had expired. She had 20 months to finish and they were so generous they gave us a three month extension that expired a month ago. That's $500 down the drain. I can't believe they wouldn't give us more time! I would stay away from this company that only thinks of the bottom line. Terrible way to do business. read more

Our son with autism turned 16 in February of 2020. Freedom was recommended by other parents in the autism community. As we all know, COVID took over our lives in March 2020. In addition to COVID our family experienced loss and multiple severe health issues. He was able to complete the online instruction and get his permit. Scheduling in person instruction was an issue because my husband was in chemo and unable to help our kid practice enough to get the required drive time before the first lesson. In addition, masked or not, COVID was a huge concern with an immunocompromised person in our household. Fast forward to today, we are all in a better place and my husband is doing well. Our son has been practicing his driving and could really benefit from the professional instruction we paid for but Freedom will not provide it nor will they provide a refund. The fact that they are totally inflexible given that COVID severely impacted our timeline and we experienced family hardships is really disappointing. I would not recommend this company to anyone. $545 for a permit, I'd give zero stars if i could, have a blessed day. read more

Freedom drivers is a great place to go they have a really professional website. They processed everything effortlessly online. They send you great notifications. And they actually taught my daughter a lot of things that I didn't think about teaching her during her pre-test. Very professional very nice people. read more

You should choose Freedom Drivers Ed if you want to trust the education of your child or new driver to incredibly rude and short-tempered instructors who apparently do not know the applicable laws in Colorado, and instead make incorrect statements such as "you don't have to have your physical license on you when driving, actually you can just have a photograph instead." We had a very negative experience with Freedom Drivers Ed and strongly recommend that you take your kids and money elsewhere. Contrary to the owner's statement below, I was absolutely promised that my au pair would be scheduled for her lesson on Nov. 18 and exam on Nov. 30 after I paid the fee. The timing was very important to me, because we need our au pair to assist with driving our kids and also so that she can drive during her free time. Because of this, I called multiple schools to confirm which could schedule the exam first. Based on the representation from Freedom Drivers Ed about November dates, I paid. In reality, once we paid we were never scheduled for any classes. I only learned of this failure because I contacted the school out of an abundance of caution to confirm the November dates. When Freedom Drivers Ed finally returned my call on November 15, the dates I had been promised were no longer available and we had to schedule for December instead. Note that Freedom Drivers Ed has never once picked up the phone during any of the multiple times we called. We always had to leave a message and wait for a response. We informed Freedom Drivers Ed that we live in a gated community, and were told that the instructor would arrive by 11:55 pm to pick up our au pair for her 12 pm lesson. Twenty minutes AFTER the instructor was supposed to have picked up our au pair, the instructor called me (while I was in the middle of a work meeting) to complain that the gate guard would not let her into the neighborhood because she did not have her license on her. When I explained that there was nothing I could do about this, and that Colorado law requires her to have her license on her in any event--something you would expect a DRIVING INSTRUCTOR to know--the instructor became even more rude and aggressive. In short, the instructor demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and had absolutely no respect for us as the customer. The instructor refused to accept any responsibility for the situation and instead (1) aggressively insisted that she was not required to carry her driver's license on her while driving; (2) attempted to blame me for the situation and demanded that I convince the gate guard to let her in; and (3) demanded that I fix the situation she created by driving my au pair to meet her. The "conversation" rapidly broke down, and while I was in the middle of saying that I would ask my husband to drive my au pair down to the gate, the instructor interrupted me, talked over me, said that she was canceling all services, and then hung up the phone. The instructor was the farthest thing possible from "polite." When we contracted Freedom Drivers Ed about this, they doubled down on the incorrect statement that drivers do not have to carry their actual license on them when driving. We asked them to identify the Colorado law that authorizes this, but they could not. While the owner references the myColorado app below, the instructor never mentioned that app and instead stated that only a photograph was required. And in any event, the myColorado app website clearly states that: "Coloradans need to carry their physical ID until Digital ID is fully accepted in all jurisdictions and the state passes legislation stating that carrying physical ID is no longer required." https://mycolorado.state.co.us/faqs While it is obviously inconvenient to reschedule services that should have been completed by now, I am glad that I am not entrusting the education of our au pair to a driving school that apparently has limited knowledge of Colorado law and does not value its customers' time and money. read more

Both of my daughters used Freedom Drivers Ed to learn to drive. Both did the classroom course with the written exam included. It was so helpful to be able to just go to the DMV for the permit having already met all the requirements. We appreciated all the email reminders and tips for getting the BTW hours scheduled. Both times I could not remember my username or password to get into either daughter's account but the staff at Freedom Drivers Ed helped via phone to get me in. Our daughters liked taking the driving road test for their license with the same people who had done their BTW instruction - it was an easy and relaxed atmosphere that helped them to do their best! read more

Terrible company. They steal money from customers. Their website is poorly designed, plus you have to pay before you can even see a schedule to take a test. Once you pay, you realize they dont offer any times on the website to take a driving test. They also do not return phone calls in a timely manner to communicate whether they do have any open times, so you are left to feel like you got scammes out of your money. Finally when they do call back, and you have already scheduled a drive test with another company that actually knows how to communicate and tell them this, as well as tell them you want a refund, they refuse to give a refund. I honestly think they finally called me back, after 4 phone calls and messages on the website, because I called my bank to dispute the charge because no one was responding or communicating what was going on. A company should be transparent about their service availabilities and offer refunds if no appointment was even made. Honestly they are a HUGE SCAM of a company for taking my money. read more

Freedom Driver's Ed went above and beyond for me and my daughter. My daughter was having problems with her vision that was not an issue in her life with anything other than driving. She had her vision checked less than a year ago - but within that time one eye decreased by 3 powers - and affected her depth perception. Through my emails with Don and the help of the instructors I had her vision rechecked and we found the disconnect. Above and beyond what I would expect from a driving school! Thank you! read more

I have a child who got their license at 15-1/2 so the required 30 hour classroom study course per the state was not necessary for them. Now that my next child wanted to received their permit at 15 the nightmare began. It started with confusion and frustration from the get go, the company was very disorganized and clear educated information was not given as far as what it entailed to get the permit once the class portion was over. Online courses may not be the best way to get your required hours as it is a third party company who mails you the certificate it does not even come from freedom drivers! This was NEVER disclosed, if it was we would of opted for the classes to get the certificate immediately after finishing the course, due to this lack of information my son had to wait a month to get his permit which took us of course with him wanting to drive before the new year his sophomore year, ok well you move on and live and learn it was a discouragement to him but we moved on, then 8, 9, 10 months go by and no contact or communication of any sort from Freedom drivers regarding the next step.! I contacted them to find out what we needed to do next as we are still due a 6hr behind the wheel time then the test for driving. I finally got a hold of the information and continued to wait it out. When it came taking the test no email was sent regarding what is expected from the Dept. of rev. license Dept. as a courtesy but good thing I'm savvy enough to get it on my own. The last straw was when my son took his test, he felt very uncomfortable and uneasy when the test was taking place as he felt as though the instructor was laughing at him when he kept stalling the vehicle out of nervousness. (It was a standard) I couldn't believe that he would have any negative experience with a professional company who was referred to by the Dept. of revenue! When I asked the owner about this situation he became very defensive and told me to find someone else to test my son! Don't bother going here they are not concerned about your child and their success just the bottom line! read more

I have twin boys and knew I wanted a solid driver's education program to get them going on the graduated driver program in Colorado. I did quite a bit of research for programs in my area, as did a friend of mine for his son, and not knowing it we both chose Freedom Drivers Ed for the same reasons. Comparing several schools, they all seemed pretty equal, but the final deciding factor for me was that Freedom Drivers Ed programs are designed by veteran law enforcement officers, with veteran police officers on staff. I opted for their classroom and 6 hours BTW program for both of my boys. It took them a couple of weekends to complete, but they were both extremely happy with the course, the instructors and both feel that they were more than prepared to take to the streets for their next step in the graduated license program. They both have their permits now and have each logged some driving time with me so I have been able to see first hand what they learned in the course and help them apply that to real life driving. It has also been very easy for them to register for their BTW sessions at times that work with our busy schedule. I have also had a few opportunities to talk to Don, the owner he and has always been very prompt in returning calls or e-mails. I would highly recommend Freedom Drivers Ed if you are looking for a 30 hour classroom Drivers Education program for your teen driver. read more
