REVIEW HFX MOTORSPORTS: all is great except lack of manners and respect from a…read moreyoung female on the phone. Jeremy is awesome mechanic. Known him a few years now through business. It may be his daughter, so I say with all due respect, she is a nice person and great in person, but not on the phone at all. Jeremy fixed my Ninja's engine last year, total rebuild (flawless work), & I just got a new computer shipped very fast. Overall the business is near perfect and very fair priced for top level mechanic work! But... But.... Avoid calling at all costs unless you get a gentleman or you'll likely have a bad experience as myself, a friend & 2 family members did. Hoping was just bad isolated moments she was outright rude & a generally piss poor TEEN daughter crap that shouldn't be near a business (that's so great). Sucks to see a great business being represented poorly. No disrespect to the people, they are learning, but gave wrong part numbers twice for my crown pinion shaft. They definitely hurt/lost business a few times already from myself & a friend of mine because of the way they were spoken to on the phone. Always deal with the MEN there. Some more time learning to speak politely to customers and fixing attitudes would warrant 5 stars from everyone imo.

I am not one to post things but dealing with Privateers Harley has been to say the least…read morefrustrating. Very poor customer service, also experienced some very sketchy business practices. Submitted a written complaint and after waiting two months and a call to Harley Canada I received a call from the general manager, Adam Turner, stating all of my concerns were not their fault except that he validated my complaint that the phones are not answered at Privateers due to staff shortages. I would be interested to know if Privateers Harley has the ability to censor these postings because there seems to be many favourable comments with very few unsatisfied customers which I do not think reflects a true customer response.

Privateers Harley-Davidson is an interesting store. I don't have a Harley so I go there mainly to…read morecheck out what they sell and, even more important, observe the people. The interior reminds me of other expensive single-brand stores such as Apple Stores or Nespresso "Boutiques", strangely at odds with the tough-guy image that the company is still trying to promote. In the same way, the people who go there are mostly well put together working class people who have achieved a certain degree of prosperity and who pay a lot of attention to their appearance. Harley-Davidson truly is the lifestyle brand of motorcycles, and both store interior as well as clientele reflect this paradox. The employees are an interesting mix too, with some looking as if they were working at a men's fashion store in Paris, and others as if they had participated in every H.O.G. ride of the past 25 years. What I do appreciate about the store is that they have a large number of models in store, so if you are in need of a chrome overdose then this is the place to be. They also have a good selection of H-D branded accessories in stock. Needless to say there is also a large section dedicated to clothing and other H-D branded merchandise. What I find a pity is that they don't offer rentals anymore. At the moment there is not a single motorcycle rental company in Halifax, quite bizarre given how many people live here. Elsewhere motorcycle dealers generate a good proportion of their revenue by renting out demo bikes but for some reason it doesn't seem to work in Halifax. Overall it's a good store that nicely illustrates the paradox that the H-D brand is today.
