(Bet you felt a little bit inside you to imagine pulling the whistle). I have been wanting to go on this tour for many many years but it always fills up so quickly. So note, book up as soon as you can, way far in advance. Basically like booking a train going down south but you always end up missing out on those advance tickets. Has anyone ever managed to get them? Anyway off "track" there. Haw haw, see what I did. Behold the group of very excited Yelpers in the middle of the Glasgow Central concourse geared up and ready to embrace what was to lie ahead in our tour. We were greeted by our tour guide, Vic, nae Bob, just Vic but this guy didn't need no side kick. We were suited and booted with our fashionable Network Rail hi-vis and safety helmet. I loved it, I felt like a pure engineer like. Ha, well kinda! It was so interesting and the things that you will see and hear are unbelievable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and Vic was so knowledgeable, I loved his attention to detail especially with dates. His stories really brought the tour alive. I was a bit gutted we couldn't get out on the roof as it was icy. He explained it was a bit catch 22, when it's clear then the engineers like to get up and do repairs. Fair dos! This was a really brilliant way to spend a few hours of your day. If you can book up soon as I promise you will not be disappointed. I thank Briony C. for managing to book it for us and hopefully later on in the year when they've added more to the tour we will go back and explore more of Central Station. Excited much!

Oh wow...what a perfect way to spend a Saturday!…read more Being half way through my transplant journey, I've been stuck in a bit of a rut and not felt like myself for a long time. I look in my wardrobe and it's like it belongs to someone else. I live in black and in all honesty, I'm miserable. I don't recognise myself any more and it makes me really sad. I've met Hayley a few times and I'm not instantly drawn to people, but I love her! Her confidence and positive attitude completely fills any room she is in. What I needed was to meet someone like her to give me the kick up the backside I've been desperately needing - she did just that! We started in The Briggait attending a vintage fair which was so much fun. There were so many different stalls (as well as a cafe area and also an area to get a vintage inspired hairdo). There were so many items to choose from it did look a bit overwhelming to begin with but Hayley was fabulous! I found a gorgeous green necklace that I utterly love and a skirt that I really loved that sadly wasn't my size and that broke my heart. I was a bit nervous at first but Hayley helped me pick out colours, styles and patterns that I love which gave me inspiration as our journey continued! We then went to Once Upon A Tart for tea and scones (with fresh cream and jam) - all covered in the event price. It was lovely to sit down and get to know everyone a bit better. Oh, we also got really pretty tote bags each that contain delicious looking letter cookies (I'm going to guess they spell out vintage) and lots of information on vintage shops, events etc as well as the cutest pencil and notecards to take down any vintage inspired notes! We then headed to a few other vintage and charity shops. Although not vintage related, I picked up an amazing book on Ancient Greek Love Poems which I can't wait to read. As a Classicist, I love all that stuff! At our final stop...a 99p store I finally plucked up the courage to venture back into the old me and add a bit of colour to my life again! I got this gorgeous mustard skirt (with a white pattern detail) and a beautiful patterned peach scarf that has hints of mustard so it will work perfectly. I'm going to pair it with my plain white Paris slogan t-shirt and there we go, outfit complete!! 2 items for £1.98 - you honestly can't go wrong with that! Huge, huge thanks to Hayley for putting together such a well organised event and taking the time to look after us all. Hayley, you've really helped me remember that even though I'm going through a transplant journey and have an upcoming op, that I need to remember to be happy and take time for myself. Thanks for injecting some much needed colour back into my life. I can't wait for the next tour!!

And what an afternoon it was!…read more We met Hayley at the Briggait, where she greeted us with personalised goodie bags so lovely that some people were asking if she would sell them, too. And they didn't even know about the contents: not only did we get some leaflets from places we visited or would likely want to visit after the afternoon, but also a lovely little notebook with a pencil and Hayley's card on it, and home baked cookies with personalised little tags on them - I just loved mine so much that I haven't even opened it yet :) Tomorrow will be the day. After a nice little chat and some insider tips, we went to Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair, and with Hayley's kind help, we started to explore what the place has to offer. She really feels at home at this place and does not hesitate to share her ideas and help, and also has a very great and lovely taste - so ladies, if any one of you would just like to try something new, go and book a place in the next styling tour now! I found a lot of little treasures, and gladly brought some of them with me: an Irish celtic looking necklace, a lovely summer dress and an evening dress that just cost five pounds, unbelievable! I also found a lovely seventies dress that I must have worn in a previous life as well, but unfortunately past life me had too much of a sophisticated taste for present me to be able to afford it, so I had to leave it for good. Then we went to Once Upon a Tart and had a really lovely chat with the ladies over a nice cup of tea, scones and cream and planned the rest of the evening. After then, we visited City Retro Fashion, Barnardos (where I got a matching pin for my newly found summer dress) and Vintage Guru, all places worth going back to for a little hunt. This was just a perfect Saturday afternoon for me, and a great and relaxing experience - a must try, I would say! Thank you, Hayley, again, and hope to see you really soon! :)

Walking the Arran Coastal Way was hands down the best way to explore this underrated little corner of Scotland. It felt like discovering a secret island full of epic views, charming villages, and just the right amount of adventure. Mac's made everything super easy, from the route planning to the luggage transfers. The accommodations were all great, comfortable, friendly, and exactly what you want to come back to after a full day of hiking. If you're thinking about booking a trip through Mac's, do it. I can't recommend them enough. This was my first trip with them and definitely won't be my last!

Although the scenery and experience of cycling was great the tour company that took our money let us down. We received a tour package on arrival with no contact from a representative of the company. This was fine, except that the information in the package was badly written, especially in giving directions to the subsequent hotels along the way. We had to back track on a few occasions to find the actual places to sleep and I finally resorted to using GPS on my phone, although I had no data plan. This was not something I had counted on. There were discount coupons in the package that were written totally in German and weren't referred to in the package. When I asked, further along, what they were for a native to Austria explained that we had already passed the area where were of use. The same thing happened with ferry tickets in the package; written fully in German with no mention of them in the English part of the documents. It was unfortunate that that we paid for these coupons as part of the trip and didn't get to exercise them, especially since the tour was booked with an English speaking company from Glasgow. I loved the trip and would recommend the experience to various age groups I only wish the documents had been more closely scrutinized for English speaking tourists

**Terrible Experience with Sightseeing Hop-On Bus in Glasgow - Avoid at All Costs!**…read more I purchased two 2-day tickets for the Sightseeing Hop-On Bus in Glasgow for August 2-3, 2025, expecting a smooth and enjoyable tour of the city. Instead, I was met with **unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and a complete waste of time and money**. On August 3, I planned to take the **Yellow Route**, but guess what? **The bus never showed up!** There was **no notice, no warning, no apology**--just complete silence from the company. I stood at the **"Celtic" stadium stop** for **over an hour in scorching heat**, waiting for a bus that never arrived. Eventually, I had to **spend extra money on a taxi** just to get to the city centre. Because of this **shocking lack of service**, I **missed out on key tourist attractions** I had planned to visit. I **flew all the way to the UK**, paid for hotels, and invested time and money into this trip, only to have my plans ruined by this **unreliable company**. The **moral distress** of being stranded without explanation is just the icing on the cake. **Save your money and your sanity--DO NOT book with this company!** Zero stars if I could.

Some of the busses got pretty busy and the top floor is half uncovered which was not great while it rained. I was super impressed with the recordings which were clear and very interesting. There were even 2 different recordings in English, one more historical and one music themed. My only wish is that it stopped closer to the botanical gardens. However, the walk through the university was gorgeous so it ended up being a blessing in disguise.
