I had awesome care from the front desk throughout the procedure room staff. They all showed professionalism and compassion. The procedure itself was a cake walk. Do not hesitate to become one of their patients. Its not often you find a doctors office that has such beautiful people.

I was experiencing severe wisdom tooth pain as my wisdom tooth started growing in, and luckily,…read moreRiverside was able to accommodate me the same day. I'm so grateful they did! I had previously visited another surgeon who was overcharging simply because they knew the pain I was in, but thankfully, I found Riverside. Dr. Richer was hilarious, made me feel completely comfortable, and gave a detailed explanation of my X-rays. The entire staff at Riverside was just as kind and funny, which truly made the whole experience so much better--especially for something as unpleasant as wisdom tooth surgery. When I went in for my procedure, they even gave me a free shirt, which was both hilarious and thoughtful. After surgery, they provided a head wrap and an ice pack, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Small touches like these really matter and show the level of care and thought Riverside puts into their patients. This is day two after surgery, and shockingly, I feel better than when I first went in. I highly recommend Riverside to anyone needing oral surgery. Thanks again, Dr. Richer and the entire team!

My husband and I paid over $5,000 to have his wisdom teeth removed. We signed a treatment plan for…read moreone thing and were charged for far more. The surgeon did discuss what he planned to do, so it doesn't seem it was a "something came up during surgery" deal, but several things were not listed on the treatment plan we signed with a price. My husband was told to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen after having impacted wisdom teeth removed which was the anestheisologist's decision to be fair. When I called the office because he was considering the ER due to the pain, a nurse, over the phone, insisted it could not be dry socket. She did not see my husband, is not the physician, and felt it was appropriate to give medical advice over the phone. I requested he see another surgeon in a different location (same practice). It was dry socket. The surgeon in West Orange was fantastic. The communication in West Caldwell left a lot to be desired. After the correct antibiotic was given and he was treated for the complication, we thought we were all clear. We went on with our lives and then received a bill the other day for just under $1200. I spoke with billing, I spoke with the office, and honestly, legal fees would be more expensive. I understand "things happen in surgery" and if our insurance covered this we might not have to pay it, but we couldn't ask insurance if it was covered because it was not what we signed up for. I honestly do not feel it was a change, because he mentioned a bone graft being part of the plan all along. I do not recommend the West Caldwell office. This was such a disaster and we finally could breathe and now we can't again. I would recommend the West Orange office. Dr. Brown in West Orange was excellent, and the surgeon our dentist requested him to see in the paperwork he sent over. I only wrote down the name of the office, not the surgeon he recommended so that was ignored on the paperwork when Riverside received it. The surgeons are fine, the West Caldwell office doesn't have it together so be prepared to do their job while you pay them far more than you agreed to.

It's hard to believe this is the way someone would describe having six teeth replaced to install 3 implants which then support a new set of six teeth. But the smooth gentle process, and the care from the staff and the doctor were actually a pleasure to experience. I was very positively impressed by Dr Abrahams' expertise as he moved smoothly, thoughtfully and confidently through each step of my several procedures. At each of my several visits over a period of months, I was pleased by how quickly each step moved forward and was completed with no complications and relatively no pain or discomfort. Dr Abrahams must be doing gentle, precise, careful work because after each of session of implant surgery, my personal experience was NO BLEEDING, NO SWELLING, NO PAIN, and NO COMPLICATIONS. Dr. Abrahams even called me at home a day later to assure I was recovering properly and to answer questions I might have. I could not be more satisfied!

I had several concerns about our experience with this practice, but I will focus on the issues that…read morewere most significant. Dr. Woke is pleasant, but throughout our interactions she made us feel rushed. I also found her explanations to be brief and incomplete, and I felt that concerns about my son's pain and recovery were often dismissed rather than fully addressed. My son had all four wisdom teeth removed. He was discharged with an anti-inflammatory medication but was not prescribed an antibiotic or a stronger pain medication. Approximately two hours after arriving home, he fainted while sitting at the dining room table, fell, and struck his head. His vital signs were low enough that an ambulance transported him to the emergency room for evaluation. Two days later, because his pain remained severe, I contacted the office to ask whether anything stronger could be prescribed. At that point, Dr. Woke prescribed Tylenol with codeine to help manage his pain. Two days after that, over the weekend, one side of my son's face became increasingly swollen and his pain escalated significantly. Dr. Woke examined him the following day and diagnosed a secondary infection at one of the extraction sites. The area had to be reopened and thoroughly irrigated. During the procedure, pus drained from the site as the local anesthetic was administered, confirming the severity of the infection. When I entered the room after the procedure, it was obvious how much pain my son was experiencing. I was disappointed by what I perceived as a lack of empathy regarding his condition. The initial plan appeared to be to send him home with antibiotics, and it was only after I specifically requested additional pain relief that Percocet was prescribed. I also asked when my son could safely return to work. Although Dr. Woke initially stated he could return immediately, she also advised that he should not lift more than 20 pounds for two days. My son works as a full-time automotive mechanic, making those restrictions incompatible with the physical demands of his job. I ultimately requested a work excuse extending his leave by three days, and that note was provided. Because my son missed six business days of work, he applied for short-term disability benefits and FMLA job protection. When the insurance paperwork was sent to the office, the office manager refused to complete it, stating that my son would not qualify because he was "not disabled." When I asked for clarification, I was told that because he could walk and talk, he was capable of working and it was up to his employer to provide accommodations. This was difficult to understand given that he had a documented postoperative infection, was experiencing severe pain, was taking prescribed narcotic medication that prevented him from driving, and was physically unable to perform the duties of his job as a mechanic. It was frustrating that the office declined to complete the paperwork based on its own assessment of his eligibility rather than allowing the insurance company to make that determination. Our experience left us feeling that communication, compassion, and patient advocacy were lacking. I understand that complications can occur after surgery and I do not fault the practice for the infection itself. However, I do expect clear communication, appropriate attention to pain management, empathy during recovery, and cooperation with necessary medical documentation. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

I was nervous about trying Botox again because my first experience elsewhere was negative, but after speaking with Dr. Cecilio, I felt comfortable giving it another try. Six months later still in pain, S.E. referred me to an oral surgeon who said the tooth would not last six months. Six weeks later it abscessed and the new bridge had to be destroyed to remove the tootn.
