Thank God that the hospital seems to have hired competent doctors. But I'm certain that other…read morehospitals do the same PLUS competent non doctors. Our experience was one of absolute disbelief. It's obvious that many are there just for the paycheck and not much more. One of these "staff" does the bare minimum and had to be told by us that there's more to it than he just did. Plus, the staff has no problem leaving things on the floor, to include water!! I asked them twice to take care of it before the fluids were cleaned up. Then a nurse did it by grabbing a towel and wiping it with her foot, then looking at me like, "You could have done this". I'm sorry (no I'm not), but I've asked TWICE for the help to clean something that we didn't mess in the first place and I have no idea if there could be a biohazard involved. I mean, we pay BIG $$$$ being here so act like we're your customer!! Then the food?!! I get it. Hospital food in general isn't the best. But Friday they basically tossed what they had in a covered dish to Teri without asking what she'd like. My wife had dozed off. Then a staff member actually brought food in, unannounced, we didn't know what or how they decided to bring her food, but instead of placing it on the bedside table, HE LITERALLY laid the entire tray on her stomach and walk out!!! They didn't give her a menu! When my wife took the lid off, it had (get this!) lasagna and pancakes!! Who eats lasagna and pancakes?!!! She didn't eat it. So the next day , I specifically asked if they have a menu. And they said, "I think so". Someone brought a menu that wasn't impressive, even for hospital food. This morning a rep from the cafeteria actually took her menu for today and tomorrow. Computerized tablet and all. Well, my wife ordered vegetable soup. They brought tomato soup. She ordered banana pudding. They brought vanilla pudding - with a side of banana!!! She ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. It might have been "grilled" but it was cold as a hockey puck - one side was actually cold to the touch, as if it was taken from an ice box and "warmed up". Why is this so hard for people to understand?! The day came when they were to release her from the hospital. Meanwhile the IV bag was empty and the monitor kept beeping. She called the nurses desk. They said they would be right there. 30 minutes later, no nurses had shown & it was still beeping. (The nurses station was literally just across the hall and down one room!) So I went to the nurses station and they were sitting around shooting the breeze! I told the RN that the monitor needs turned off and she said it depends on why it's abeeping. To which I replied, "Well, would someone at least go check on it?!!" So the RN checked and confirmed it was the IV bag needed replacing. (Why did it take so long to come to this conclusion?!) I would never recommend this hospital for anyone to end up in. It honestly seems they are more apt to hiring DEI help rather than well-qualified people. The proof is in the Vanilla Pudding with a side of bananas (when even the most BASIC hire knows what banana pudding is!) I'm only giving them a generous 2 Star rating because the doctors did a fine job on what they needed to do.

I was having significant ear symptoms and difficulty breathing comfortably, but the provider spent very little time in the room, told me I had an ear infection, and left without much explanation or reassurance. I understand ERs are busy and providers are managing many patients, but when you're already sick and scared, feeling minimized makes the experience much harder. I left without feeling thoroughly assessed or cared for. I hope this feedback encourages more attentive communication, especially when patients are clearly struggling.

I had a great experience here getting a facial recently. This practice is affiliated with a medical…read moreclinic, but it is NOT like coming to a doctor's office. I will definitely return to Laura and Advanced Aesthetics when it's time for another facial. Advanced Aesthetics is on the 5th floor of the Hickingbotham Outpatient building on the campus of Baptist Medical Center. The brochure says they offer free valet parking, but I just self-parked for free on the adjoining lot. There are signs in the lobby and on the 5th floor specifically directing you to Advanced Aesthetics, which I appreciated, never having been here before. I also have never had a facial before, so while I do not have anything with which to compare this experience, I was thoroughly pleased with the whole process, and specifically with the results. When I arrived, the woman at the desk, Vicki, immediately got me seated with some cucumber water to sip, and I waited less than a few minutes for my appointment to begin, even though I was a little early. I have known the licensed aesthetician who did my facial, Laura, for several years, mostly through Facebook, which is how I came to book this appointment. The facial room is like a massage room, with soothing music, a small fountain, a comfortable, warm bed and dim lighting. I put on the little strapless towel "top" that snaps across the top and got under the covers. Laura massaged my hands and arms below the elbow with a great-smelling lotion and then put heated gloves on my hands. They stayed like this throughout the facial. Regarding facials, the Website reads: "Customized treatments based on your skin's needs to rehydrate and revitalize your skin... Beginning with a European massage then followed by a hydrating steam therapy, deep pore cleansing, sterile extractions (if necessary), and a mask chosen for your skin type." She did a great massage on my head, neck and shoulders that was amazing! Laura and I chatted about many things, running, cooking, traveling, dogs, etc., but she also told me what she was doing and what the purpose of it was (I was so chill, I can't remember much of what she said!), and she also commented on what would be beneficial to my skin, what I should watch out for, etc., which was all very helpful. During the mask, she left me alone for awhile, and I had that same feeling you get during a massage: a kind of lucid unconsciousness. When the facial was finished (I never wanted it to end!), she took me for a Visia photo, which they do for new clients. The camera takes a photo of your skin and analyzes it for wrinkles, UV spots, age spots, red areas, texture, pore size, etc. This was interesting as you could really examine your skin for issues and ways to improve. Of course, they had some treatment suggestions for me, including IPL treatments to lessen sun-damage. My facial with Laura was $85, which I think was an hour-long treatment, although with the Visia photography, I was there at least an hour and 15 minutes. Because this is a clinic, there seems to be no expectation to tip, as there was no line on the credit card and I didn't see any box for leaving tips. Vicki talked to me about some alternative treatments, and Laura gave me some samples of products for me to try. I have to say, I would never want to go to have a facial with someone whose skin wasn't beautiful and who didn't look healthy and glowing. Laura does! I felt completely comfortable turning myself over to her care. My skin looked and felt great for days and days!

UAMS Health - Simon C. Mears, M.D. - Orthopaedic Hospital…read more Dr Mears is an excellent surgeon. I'm very grateful he did my left hip replacement after I fell. He was precise and I have zero complaints. I would recommend him to anyone. Dr. Mears staff at UMAS Orthopedic Hospital were wonderful. Every one except the APRN were great. The APRN I believe was on a power trip and wanting to show me who was in control. She did nothing to help me and was very condescending to me every time she was in the room. However the Techs, Nurses and Dieticians were amazing. Such great people and very helpful. The nurse in the recovery room was awesome. She even came to see me the next evening in my room. I totally felt blessed to have the complete staff that I had. I wish I could remember all the names because they deserve recognition. I recommend UAMS Orthopedics Hospital 100%. Sarah my last Nurse was so helpful in finding me a pain Med that wouldn't lower my BP when the APRN wanted to give me low dose Toradol which does nothing for pain. Nurse Sarah went above and beyond to find something that was truly helpful at least for almost 3 hours. It was tough having no pain meds for many hours but I made it.

We took her all the way to the Cleveland Ohio Hospital, where they admitted her immediately for over 7 days, they were horrified by her treatment at this hospital. She needs 24 hour care. This hospital is so ridiculous, and should be shut down for malpractice.
