Every week seemed to go perfect until her 1st treatment here at this location. When I picked her up she was very upset and explained how horribly she was treated by one of the nurses (Brittany). I told her to speak with Dr. Roman at her next appointment with him and inform him of what happened. She did exactly that and her last appointment was wonderful and a nurse named Liz took phenomenal care of her. Nurses are so vital right now and those RN's who choose to be unprofessional and rude to their patients only do a disservice to the profession. The rest of the staff have been great as well and very helpful. I even stopped by their cafeteria while I waited and had breakfast which didn't disappoint. Thank you to Dr. Roman for taking such great care of your patients and seeing to it they have the best nurses to care for them. I don't know who this Brittany lady is but she clearly has no business being a nurse and at best belongs in a urgent care facility taking urine samples for drug screens.

I questioned their "no show" policy which states if the patient is 15 minutes late they will be counted as a "no show ". I asked if that applied to doctors as well? She became angry and said it was just their policy. I asked if that was fair. She became hostile when I told her it was unfair and that my time is as valuable to me as theirs is to them. Mind you they changed/ cancelled six appointments last summer. To make matters worse, two day later I received an unsigned letter in the mail informing me they would no longer see me as a patient. I attempted to call Dr. David but he refused to talk/ return my phone call. I urge you to NEVER use him or Nephrology Associates of Little Rock,Arkansas if your renal health is important to you. I will continue to share my negative experience with anyone who wants to go further into detail of her complete unprofessional attitude. It's obvious that many are there just for the paycheck and not much more. One of these "staff" does the bare minimum and had to be told by us that there's more to it than he just did. Plus, the staff has no problem leaving things on the floor, to include water!! I asked them twice to take care of it before the fluids were cleaned up. Then a nurse did it by grabbing a towel and wiping it with her foot, then looking at me like, "You could have done this". I'm sorry (no I'm not), but I've asked TWICE for the help to clean something that we didn't mess in the first place and I have no idea if there could be a biohazard involved. I mean, we pay BIG $$$$ being here so act like we're your customer!! Then the food?!! I get it. Hospital food in general isn't the best. But Friday they basically tossed what they had in a covered dish to Teri without asking what she'd like. My wife had dozed off. Then a staff member actually brought food in, unannounced, we didn't know what or how they decided to bring her food, but instead of placing it on the bedside table, HE LITERALLY laid the entire tray on her stomach and walk out!!! They didn't give her a menu! When my wife took the lid off, it had (get this!) lasagna and pancakes!! Who eats lasagna and pancakes?!!! She didn't eat it. So the next day , I specifically asked if they have a menu. And they said, "I think so". Someone brought a menu that wasn't impressive, even for hospital food. This morning a rep from the cafeteria actually took her menu for today and tomorrow. Computerized tablet and all. Well, my wife ordered vegetable soup. They brought tomato soup. She ordered banana pudding. They brought vanilla pudding - with a side of banana!!! She ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. It might have been "grilled" but it was cold as a hockey puck - one side was actually cold to the touch, as if it was taken from an ice box and "warmed up". Why is this so hard for people to understand?! The day came when they were to release her from the hospital. Meanwhile the IV bag was empty and the monitor kept beeping. She called the nurses desk. They said they would be right there. 30 minutes later, no nurses had shown & it was still beeping. (The nurses station was literally just across the hall and down one room!) So I went to the nurses station and they were sitting around shooting the breeze! I told the RN that the monitor needs turned off and she said it depends on why it's abeeping. To which I replied, "Well, would someone at least go check on it?!!" So the RN checked and confirmed it was the IV bag needed replacing. (Why did it take so long to come to this conclusion?!) I would never recommend this hospital for anyone to end up in. It honestly seems they are more apt to hiring DEI help rather than well-qualified people. The proof is in the Vanilla Pudding with a side of bananas (when even the most BASIC hire knows what banana pudding is!) I'm only giving them a generous 2 Star rating because the doctors did a fine job on what they needed to do.

I saw Dr. Gordon for an EGD for the very 1st time on September 10th in which he took a couple of…read morebiopsies of my stomach. His nurse called me later to let me know that all was good and not to worry. I however have been suffering for approximately 11 years with my bowels and going to different Doctors and being given some medications that "might" help. I ended up with blockage and near surgery with one of them and stopped taking it. Having a fear of eating pretty much now, I had to try something else! So, I spoke to Dr. Lance Burns (whom I love also) office who said I would need to see Dr. Gordon with the issues I described. I told him it began in 2015 when I had rectal prolapse and Dr. Burns had to remove "my lower colon". How much of it? I have no idea. So, Dr. Gordon is going to find out. Then in 2019 after years of telling different Doctors that I didn't think my intestines were where they should be, because a belly ache shouldn't hurt in your pelvic area, I ended up Seeing Dr. Burns once again who believed that I had 2 large hernias that needed repaired in the mesh that had been placed in my stomach in 1995. (After an ectopic pregnancy ruptured (ultrasound-mis-read and showed inter-uterine) and I bled internally 20 days going to the Doctor who delivered my 2 children ages 3 and 18 months at this time- telling him that I thought I was bleeding internally and last time I went, he yelled at me and told me, "go home and prop your feet up and I give you and that baby a 60-70% chance of being fine with a normal delivery if you'll just stop worrying!" So, I did and that weekend after feeding my children, I collapsed in the doorway of our sitting room and couldn't reach the phone, and my babies were with me, and my husband was at work with the volunteer fire department. Anyway. I had previously had my tubes "cut, tied and burned" in December 1993 and found out in July 1994 on my Birthday that I was pregnant! I was devastated because I couldn't afford another child but, had also had stomach bypass and didn't want to gain weight! OMG!!! Finally made it to the phone and eventually that night to the ER where they performed emergency surgery and did partial hysterectomy and removed the ectopic pregnancy and placed mech 4" wide by 1" long in my stomach.) Between 1995 and 2019 it had gotten entangled in my bowels and cut my stomach muscle in 1/2 which Dr. Lance Burns found and graphed my muscle back together and detangled the mesh and replaced everything where it should be and put new mesh as it should have been between stomach wall and muscle. So, since then I have been unable to eat much of anything but a sandwich and a few chips and tea without getting sick and vomiting or having severe diarrhea! I have taken up to or even more than 21 Imodium at a time and taken a powder they gave me. I stopped it after I used too much and caused blockage in 2021 and was hospitalized for a week and came close to having surgery but thanks to cream of wheat and LOTS of butter we "passed" the test to go home by having a bowel movement! Praise God and Dr. Lance Burns! So Now I have this amazing Endocrinologist named Otis Gordon (So down to earth doesn't look down his nose at you! Whom I just love! At 415 or 417 N. University Ave., Little Rock, Arkansas and his nurse Tonya and another couple of ladies Jordan, etc., - I am here to tell you- They truly care about you! Dr. Gordon is so very kind, and he listens and he lets you tell him what you are going through and what you are feeling. He starts with test and if those don't give him the answers, he is prepared and tells you to be prepared for more test because he wants to help you find answers and solutions to make you feel normal again, healthier again, and ALIVE again! I am so very, very happy that I have met him! He is a true God Send in my life! A Guardian Angel! Because I had become hopeless and given up trying anything anymore and resigned myself to being a recluse because of my condition and never knowing when I might have an "accident" because there are times- you have NO WARNING!!! or the flatulence for a very modest girl/lady is unbearable! So, the former social butterfly you once were, is now a homebody who hides from any and all~ if possible and it is sad because I am missing out on so very much of my Grandson's lives and it breaks my heart!!! But I don't have a choice in the matter at the moment. But, after leaving the office of Dr. Otis Gordon yesterday, I found HOPE!!! Something that I thought was lost for good! And I truly would have hugged his neck if it wouldn't have scared him! Dr. Burns is used to it by now and I will give fair warning to Dr. Gordon that he better get ready, because it's a coming to him too! LOL! I am a hugger -especially to those who help me or at least try and show compassion and true concern for me and my condition as he did yesterday! I already warned his nurse. I love good people- THEY'RE GREAT!!!
