Come here every few months and they always do the same things. X-rays, a few other things... and some Cortizone shots. I feel better walking out of course. They made some money and I walked out happy. I haven't had to pay out of my pocket yet so thank god for insurance. However...my issue isn't going away and I question that. First, the doctor i saw Nicholas Fifelski was excellent. He diagnosed my problem and came up with a good solution. I agreed to foot/ankle surgery but after a week of waiting for the surgery to be scheduled I received a call from their surgery coordinator informing me that Mr. Fifelski was not registered with my insurance and that they would find a doctor in their practice that could handle my surgery. I waited a few days for them to get in touch with me and no one reached out and to this day I not heard another a thing from frederick foot and ankle. Luckily I had experience with Advance orthopedics in Germantown and I was able to see them and have Dr. Feldman take care of my issue. Just incredible that this organization completely dropped the ball and made no follow up call to have my problem resolved. read more

My pain is so LOW this morning - I can't believe it. I saw Dr. Marconi yesterday at the Martinsburg, WV office. Office was pleasant and clean. Check in was fast and professional. Wait time was brief. The young assistant who welcomed me back was very nice and very accommodating while she took X-rays of my feet. Dr. Marconi was great. I really liked her. She did a great job of explaining my condition and setting expectations. Even found out I have an undiagnosed birth defect in my feet along with an 8+mm plantar fascia that feels like stepping on knives. I know I still have a long recovery ahead with my issues but I am very pleased with the care from Dr. Marconi & the staff today and I highly recommend them. Going back in 2 weeks. read more

If you are a dependent of an active duty service member, do not go to this place. They do not understand that dependents with Tricare Standard do not go on base for care. They told him to go on base to get his orthotics. I have call multiple times to speak to the billing department to get this straightened out and they are unresponsive and apparently clueless on how to run your insurance information through the system to get accurate information. read more

They botched my surgery for a simple ingrown toenail... if they can't handle that what do you think they will do with big things. These quacks should be out of business. Feet are vital to human survival and they treat them like an afterthought. They treated me personally worse. I told them I felt what she was doing instead of numbing it more she just continued till I cried. My husband was with me. He was shocked. I regret not just walking out and letting her finish the procedure. Now my left toe is bothering me continuously. Dr Diamond who did my first procedure has an office in Westminster was freaking amazing and did the procedure flawlessly!!! RUN... Do not walk or crawl to this place. Where do I begin? Frederick Foot and Ankle's Dr. Neeyquaye, Podiatist, is exemplar. His soft skills are unmatched and complimented with technical expertise. Well worth the 60 miles 1.5 hour drive from Northern Virginia to Frederick, MD. If you have foot pain, he is the person to see. I have been dealing with knee edema, rolling ankles for year, then in 2021 foot pain began making it nearly impossible to walk some days. Dr. Neeyquaye assessed the root cause and put a plan in action to fix the problem. The pain went from chronic to intermittent. I have full faith that this issue will be resolved. read more

I was a patient here a few years back. I was fitted for "lifetime" Performance orthotics. They have worked and lasted for years. I since have moved five hours away from Frederick. The coating has worn down. I contacted the orthotics maker, Performance and they told me I needed to have the podiatrist write a new prescription in order to obtain new ones. I even had the cast numbers that they have on file. These were computer generated not molds. when I contacted this office they refused to call in the same "lifetime" prescription And told me I'd have to go in the office and be seen by the doctor in order to get them re-made! I explained that I was a five hour drive away. They still would not comply! Now I need to seek out another foot doctor to have it done here. It will cost me a fortune to do so! In March of 2018 my husband saw Dr. Steinberg for gout and mentioned pain he still experienced from having a metal plate and screws put in his foot over 25 years ago. Dr. Steinberg convinced him to have, a "simple routine" surgery which might take 20 minutes, with 3 days on the couch and 2 weeks till you're back to normal activities. The nightmare began that evening after surgery, it began with excess bleeding, to getting no responses from several texts sent to the Doctor's cell phone (which she provided us) to calling their "after hours on-call doctor" emergency number and not receiving a call back. And then having to be taken into the ER at 2:00 AM to stop the bleeding and ending up with a major wound infection that caused my husband to have a wound vacuum and crutches for over 8 weeks. When the ER Doctor removed the bandages, the wound was actually dripping blood and the Doctor had to cauterize the wound in several areas. Finally, after almost a year and a half the pain of what I view as a botched surgery and inadequate follow up care provided by Dr. Steinberg my husband has recovered but is left with more pain in his foot than before this surgery. I'm not sure how a "simple routine" surgery would have resulted in this. It is difficult to believe now that Dr. Steinberg would have ever viewed this as another "simple routine" procedure and that the difficulty Dr. Steinberg said she encountered during his surgery was unforeseen. With Dr. Steinberg's prior experience as a foot surgeon and the numerous x-rays taken, along with the number of years the screws and plate were in his foot, I find it extremely difficult to believe now that Dr. Steinberg would have viewed this as "simple surgery". I also feel Dr. Steinberg never should have told my husband it was a "simple surgery" with a few weeks of down time, she never once communicated to him the risks he could face and the chance of infections and complications. I would not recommend Dr. Steinberg or this office. After reading reviews I have to agree this practice is just after the money and lacks patient care. I am not at all impressed with Frederick Foot and Ankle. I saw Dr. Chen for inflammation in my feet at which time she prescribed cortisone patches and cushioned braces. She suggested PT, but no one gave me any information or referral for PT. I asked for further information the day of my appointment and I called the next day and received no PT information or referral. Not only did the cortisone patches and tape leave me with blisters on my feet, but the inflammation is worse now than it was when I made the appointment. To top it off, I am now receiving bills from Frederick Foot and Ankle after I paid the FULL amounts with my HSA card at the end of each appointment. The total for TWO appointments will total $750! For what?! I wouldn't recommend Frederick Foot and Ankle. read more

Today was the most painful day for me to hear my sister cry because these people did not know how to treat a child with autism, the whole problem was because my 4-year-old nephew cannot wear the mask because of his condition, it is very difficult for him to understand why? You have to wear a mask and the stupid thing is that my sister told them that he had that problem and they told her it's fine, no problem and they gave her the appointment, arriving there they rejected her they asked her to take the child when they were going to close for him arrive without the mask now that they are afraid of it I bet that more than one there goes to parties is not at home locked up due to a pandemic they should be more professional in better treating their patients especially children with Autism. read more

Went in today for an appointment...I have excellent medical insurance which includes a copay of $40.00 for the appointment. I was told that in order to see a doctor I would first have to front them my copay and an additional $200.00 to pay for other potential incidentals. Their policy is evidently to fleece new patients for whatever part of their insurance deductible had not yet been met, thus assuring them a fat window of reduced risk in assisting those with health care needs. I was appalled that I was being withheld health care service because I refused to pay in advance for services not yet received or for that fact hadn't ever been determined would be needed. The worst medical care I have ever encountered. Not my first time there. Today, I arrived before my appointment only to be told that because I was a victim on a car accident that wasn't my fault. I couldn't be seen until I had the insurance company to agree to accept all and every charge they would be billed. They didn't even start with hey let us check you out. Never mind I have full health insurance if by chance the auto insurance didn't cover the accident injury. Last time there they tried to sell me a bunch of braces, foot wear and some kind of expensive cream. I may be a senior citizen but don't think I'm stupid. You all suck as a provider!! read more

I went to this office two times and every time that I went there, the staffs were always polite and helpful. I visited Dr. Ho every time and she was friendly, accommodative and polite. She never rushed me out the door and always answered my questions in a timely manner. I had a surgery with her and she did an excellent job from the pre surgery visit, surgery day and post surgery visit. I highly recommend Dr. Ho and this office. The only reason that I gave four stars is the entrance door. It would be very nice and more thoughtful to install a handicap door, since many people walking in and out with cane or crutches and won't be able to open and close the door without help. read more

It didn't seem to be a huge deal. I arrive today for the appointment only to be told my autistic 4 year old who has severe sensory issues with anything on his face, ears, head etc is required to wear a mask. He has had a formal diagnosis since the age of 2. I again tell them he is autistic and he will not keep it on. The person at reception said she asked the office manager who said "that was the rules" and handed me a mask. After three attempts to see if I could get him to wear a mask I handed them back the paperwork and walked out. It killed me to try it knowing it was upsetting for him and I refuse to traumatize my child. If you have a special needs child this is not the place to go and this is the first place that has not made accommodations or understood his diagnosis that I have been even the FDA has made exemptions on airlines for people with disabilities. He nor I will be returning. I will not support a place that lacks empathy or understanding to individuals who have disabilities and are unable to comply with their "office rules". I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Steinberg. I've been having foot pain for about a week and decided to take action and schedule an e-visit. So glad I did! She was so knowledgeable and knew what my problem was right away. She told me to wear a boot (which I had on hand from a previous foot injury on my other foot) for about four weeks, elevate and ice. Lo and behold as soon as I put my boot on and walked around it felt better! I didn't even need to take any ibuprofen the next day. I highly recommend their services and particularly Dr. Steinberg! read more

I went from barely able to make it through a work day with excruciating pain and hardly able to walk, to a mild discomfort if any pain now. I still have follow up appointments and am confident they will manage my recovery until complete relief of pain. I want to share our day with you all.... as you know we were in a terrible car accident Sunday and have multiple injuries. We scheduled an appointment with Frederick Foot & Ankle for Neal this morning at 9:10. We arrived 10 minutes early and after being told that unless they had approval to preform "any and everything necessary" they couldn't treat him.... yes we have PIP AND HEALTH INSURANCE... after waiting around for 30 minutes they make Neal hobble to a room at the back of their office and then proceed to tell us because they didn't have insurance approval to treat him they couldn't help us. Pretty sure something is off... I will be making a formal complaint as a consumer and insurance agent... I call bullshit! If you're a professional business; you should want to take care of patients not just their money then something is wrong. Upside? I called my podiatrist in Rockville and we had an appointment 40 minutes later and an MRI 40 minutes after that! Bottom line? Stay away from Frederick Foot and Ankle.... they are self serving not caring physicians. Thanks for reading... rant on hold until tomorrow when I file my complaint. read more

They are nice, but very big on selling things. Especially Dr. Ho. Went there for a $30 visit and to get socks and ended up with a $500.00 because she sold me shoes that were only to be $20. Oh, and they will charge you the co-pay and then take more money out later if your deductible hasn't been met. $200 taken off my card and a financial mess as a result. And, the shoes were way more than $20 and I still don't have them 3 months later. If you go for a foot care visit it's fine, but be sure you understand the financial policy up front; they said they told me but I promise they didn't. Read the fine print and don't purchase special shoes, socks, or any other thing that might be up-sold to you in an effort to make money (rather than it being for your benefit). read more

The first visit was good, they got me in soon and everyone was nice. But problem started after the first visit. I scheduled a follow up visit with them in 2 weeks since the first visit and I've gotten numerous at least 4 times calls to reschedule. I understand that things happen and appointments need to be moved, but once is okay not two, three times. And they can't even get me in with the dr who I saw the first time, so I'll be having a follow up visit with a dr I've ever met. I wish I would've gone to a different practice. read more

I usually don't like to write bad review because I understand it could affect the business. However, I'm making an exception this time. Took my son in because he had tendonitis. The staffs were nice and the doctor was able to figure out the issue. However, I was shocked when they sent me the bill. The total bill was $437 (after insurance) and included items such as X-rays, ultrasound therapy, electric current therapy, etc ... Worst of all, they charged $280 for the pneumatic walking boot. I did a Google search and it costs about $60. I understand they need to mark up but this is abusrd! By the way, they sent me the bill on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I called on Friday to discuss the bill but the office was closed. The following Monday, somebody from the office called and wanted to charge my credit card. Very unprofessional. I have had pains in my legs for a week and went to the them to the address it in addition to other minor issues (warts). The staff was great upon arrival got treated and left. The diagnosis on my pains were that I need to continue stretching and take the meds that provided. After a few days of taking the meds and no benefit seen, I called back to see what the recourse was. Sadly the clinical coordinator who has sever communication issues stated that no other pain medication is available. I never asked for pain medication and quite frankly I don't pay good money to be treated like a drug addict. This place is great at taking your money and pushing over priced items onto you but could care less when they mis diagnose your pain. I have horrendous experience of dealing with the VA and I can honestly tell you this was worse. read more

Dr. Steinberg is the very best! My entire family has gone to see her and she has helped us all with orthotics, and other foot problems athletes often have. She also did a surgery on my mother which went seamlessly. She called to check on her and I could really tell she cared. I have seen her with other patients and she treats each one with the same attention. She is a wonderful Dr. and I would recommend her to anyone with any type of foot problem from pain, to surgery. Not a fan of this office. Seems like they are just fishing for money out of patient pockets. After looking over my services- they charged me $55 for a single piece of tape on my foot. $55 could get me a roll of that tape. The service just isn't what I expected out of a place that is "well-known" in the area. Didn't have any hands on work- it was give me the injection and leave. My wife and I both started seeing Dr. Brenna Steinberg, DPM at the the Frederick office located at 141 Thomas Jefferson Drive #170, Frederick, MD 21702 several months ago. I went to Dr Steinberg 15 years ago after an injury to my ankle left me in pain and unable to walk without more pain. Her measures changed my life and allowed me to heal properly and relieve much of the pain . 15 years later I brought my wife to Dr Steinberg for a diabetic foot exam and Dr Steinberg found that my wife had one leg shorter than the other which was causing her arch to collapse. Dr Steinberg instituted corrective measures that saved my wife from future problems and helped releive pain and swelling she had for years. Thank you Dr Steinberg, you are wonderful!!!! read more

Been going here for the past 7 months and I have to say the experience has been great! The staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. All of my visits have been with Dr. Ho and she was very good about answering all my questions and taking the time to explain what she was doing. Came in for two separate injuries, one was a fractured ankle and the second was a ruptured tendon. Both injuries have been healing very nicely and I like that they did not schedule unnecessary follow up appointments or try to push products. I've been a patient there for approximately six weeks. Most of the staff are very professional and courteous. During my first visit there was a staff member who was very admirable of apiece of jewelry I was wearing. She asked where did I purchase the jewelery and I told her I wasn't going to tell her. She persistently asked continuously throughout my time waiting to be called in the front; which I thought was extremely unprofessional. She even mentioned something to me when I was leaving the office visit. During my first visit, I was surprised when I was advised my bill was over $400. I inquired about the charges. Basically everything that they offered was ant attempt to upsell; from basic rubber bands to inserts for plantar fasciitis. The only thing I purchased was the boot at my 20% cost. That was a red flag. My most recent incident was on 8/3/2015. Note each time I attended my visits, I would pay my copay and there wasn't any bill provided. On yesterday I was informed I had a balance and I had to pay the balance immediately. I informed the intake representative I wasn't aware of the balance and upon my review I asked her wasn't the facility "in network"? She replied yes, but the charges were my 20% copay. I also noticed on the bill the facility made adjustments, but did not accept the insurance payment as paid in full and charged me with the remainder 20%. So I informed her I would pay on 8/7/2015 (which is Friday). She indicated she would have to speak with my physician, Dr. Yanes. Upon her return she indicated Dr. Yanes indicated I would have to pay towards the balance today or else I couldn't be seen and had to be rescheduled. Mind you I drove over 1 hour to get to the doctor's appointment and was never informed of an outstanding bill until that moment. I was applaud the doctor would make such a decision based on a bill I had just received notice. I was informed I should have received notice from my insurance company. I had to ask myself, was it because I declined the upsellling of products? Makes you wonder and go, Ah Ha! After speaking with one of the "many" office managers, unfortunately she wasn't able to accomplish anything, basically it was the doctor's discretion. Hmm so the doctor was not concerned about the patient's health and refused treatment for a bill a little less than $160. Oh by the way I also discovered there was a charge on the bill for something I refused to receive (upsale). So the bill is less than $160. So it appears the priority is based on revenue first and health care second. I immediately requested all of my records and I was able to attain another specialist who focuses on customer care first and revenue second! it seems this facility's reputation proceeds them. This office has received referrals from some of their patients. I wonder why? I understand the principles of business operations, but it's evident with all of the recent incidents this facility is focused on up selling and revenue generating practices as a priority. Pretty facility, advanced technology, staff is color coordinated in their uniforms. I guess the patients must pay for the "administrative costs" through the up selling of products. read more
