This probably sounds like over-reach, but I'll say it anyway…read more.. Dr. Melvin gave me my life back. 23 years ago, suffering from major depression, I decided I needed help and chose to find professional help. The first two psychiatrists I contacted tried "quick fixes", and when they didn't help much, they went no further. The a friend recommended Dr. Melvin. My first impression when meeting him was a demeanor of calm professionalism, and and obvious drive to help me with my problem. After a substantial discussion of my symptoms, he decided that medication was the best choice for me. We tried 3 different anti-depressants, all offered some, but not significant help for my depression...but Dr. Melvin did not give up. He suggested a rather obscure "old school" anti-depressant that he had found was sometimes effective when the more recent medications were not. I knew within 2 hours after taking this that my solution had been found. I was so profoundly moved that it was hard to control my emotions. I felt good for the first time in several years. And this has continued, with this medication, for the last 23 years, really the best years of my life. Maybe some other psychiatrist would have been persistent like Dr. Melvin, but maybe not...and I would be where I was 23 years ago. I hardly ever write this sort of thing. But it occurred to me that there might be someone out there like me who needs someone with his skills to solve there problem. Thank you, Dr. Melvin

I have been going to CEH for about 2 years now. Everything seemed okaysish at first. However, in…read moreSeptember I had a phone appointment with my Dr. and not even 15 minutes before the call, I received a call from them stating they were having trouble with my insurance on their end and assured me it was not on my end, and once they got it resolved, they would call back to make an appointment. This was very upsetting because my meds desperately needed to be adjusted as they were no longer working properly and I was suffering mentally and physically from it. I want to say it was maybe a week or 2 before I finally got a call back to reschedule the appointment. By this time, I have mentioned in 3 different phone calls that my meds need to be adjusted ASAP as they are starting to make everyday life hard. (I'm a stay at home mom with a 2 year old.) I couldn't focus on anything, I was constantly distancing myself and spacing out and even beginning to have trouble sleeping. The next available they appointment they had was for 2 weeks out, which was frustrating given I felt I had waited long enough after begging to get help with getting my meds adjusted. The day came for that appointment and I never received a phone call. The appointment was for 4:45 and they close at 5, so by the time I was calling them to figure out what was happening, they were closed. This was on a Friday, so I had to wait until Monday to call and figure out what happened. I called Monday as soon as I could. Of course no one answered so I left a voicemail and when someone called me back I explained what happened. She apologized and said the next available appointment for any Dr they had was 2 weeks out. This was extremely upsetting, unprofessional as a mental health business and 100% unfair because they forgot me and my appointment. She never even explained why I had been forgotten about or what happened. First my appointment was cancelled less than 15 minutes before, for something completely not my fault, had to wait a month almost for another appointment, was forgotten about and then told I have to wait yet ANOTHER two weeks to speak to my Dr, even after explaining I was struggling on the meds. It is 100% clear that my mental health does not matter to these people. When I finally had my appointment yesterday morning, I asked the Dr if there were any notes about the many phone calls where I stated I need help with the meds and was struggling and she said there was nothing in the notes about it. None of the people I talked to even took the few seconds to note about me struggling. This has been an awful experience that in the end, made my mental health way worse than when I began.. I came here for help, now I need EVEN more help because I am convinced my mental health isn't important. Do yourself a favor and find another place! RUN now! It's not worth it, even if this was the only place on Earth.
