This was my first time trying Fred Astaire Dance Studios thanks to ClassPass! I've been meaning to take dance classes but this is the only dance class in my area. I'm so glad I tried it out! I signed up for Ladies Styling and met Tanya the instructor. She is very warm, welcoming, friendly and she knows how to move! The best part for me, especially being a beginner in the styles of dancing (Rumba, ChaCha) was that because of my previous experience in music and ballet dancing, she helped to explain the differences in these styles and why they work. I was also able to meet Cozy (the male instructor) and three other ladies that attended the class. Again, even their energy was warm light and welcoming. I'd say not only is the dancing fun to learn as well as to perform, but the people there really make it a nice environment to learn in as well. I'm looking forward to trying it again! Thank you! read more

If you're on the fence about having a choreographed first dance for your wedding, DO IT! Less than a month before our wedding, we decided we wanted to try taking dance lessons for fun. After one introductory lesson, we were hooked. We signed up for 5 classes (that was all we could fit in weeks before our wedding and with our busy schedules). Nick was our instructor and he was amazing! We're both beginners and he was great at teaching us dance moves we could handle that also went well with our song. We were nervous to learn but he was patient and made sure we were comfortable with each move. He even incorporated a lift into our dance which was so much fun! Overall highly recommend, the whole staff is friendly and welcoming. It's a great bonding experience and the crowd went wild for our first dance during the wedding! Great memories that we'll cherish forever :) read more

We had 5 sessions with Briana to choreograph our first dance. She is so wonderful! It was the best possible experience, especially since neither of us had any dance experience. All our wedding guests were shocked by our first dance and said that we looked so natural doing it. We can't recommend this studio enough, everyone there is so kind and welcoming! read more

Nick is the absolute best!!! My husband and I took 5 dance lessons with Nick for our first dance. We both had zero dance experience, but Nick was super patient in teaching us the basics and built up our confidence so that our first dance turned out amazing for our wedding. He also understood our vision right away, and tailored the choreography to both our vision and skill level. We started out with Fly Me to the Moon before transitioning to Dua Lipa's Levitating. Would highly recommend Nick's wedding choreography lessons to any couples (including beginners like us) looking for a fun and unique first dance. Thank you Nick! read more

Tanya is the best instructor ever. She made us feel welcome and was so encouraging and positive. She really got us. We loved working with her for our first dance and hope to take many more lessons with her in the future when our schedule allows. Highly recommend to anyone looking for lessons for a first dance. read more

My now husband and I decided to take some classes for our first wedding dance. Matea worked with us to choreograph a dance to the song we chose that was fun and within our limited dance skills. He was fun and patient and an amazing dancer. At first my husband just wanted to do something very basic but with Matea's help we convinced him we could do more and Matea helped give him the confidence and coaching needed to get it done. Our first dance was so fun and was a highlight of our wedding. So glad we did this! Thank you to Matea and Taia and all the great people at Fred Astaire Dance read more

What a great experience! My husband and I went to Fred Astaire to learn how to dance before our wedding day with our "first dance". We had a couple of sessions leading up to the wedding and it got us comfortable enough to have much fun on our wedding night! Not to mention it was nice having a weekly date night to go practice together! They also have locations all over the nation so my father went to a Florida location where he learned to dance for our father daughter dance! I was able to then coordinate with my studio to learn that dance as well. Definitely recommend! read more

My fiancé (now my husband) and I thought it would be fun to take dance lessons. We signed up for 8 personal lessons with Marcus to learn a choreographed first dance. We picked the song and Marcus created a dance to fit our personalities and our song choice. The classes were fun and Marcus was really patient with us. He is a great teacher, very positive and upbeat. On our wedding day, we rocked the dance floor! Thank you Marcus, it was a great experience for Chris and I! read more

We had the most wonderful experience working with Nick to choreograph our first dance for our wedding! All the staff is so kind and helpful and helped us start from little dance experience to a fun and joyous dance routine! Although I had some previous dance experience, my fiancée did not; Nick was able to help teach us basic steps, combinations and put them together for a great routine during our private lessons. We really enjoyed having a moment together, each week, leading up to the wedding- a time to be with each other and do something fun in the midst of all the crazy wedding planning. I would highly recommend every couple to do this- well worth the money! We will definitely be back to take some more dance lessons, post wedding ! read more

I've always wanted to learn how to dance and I've found the perfect place!!At first, I felt a little intimidated going to a dance studio by myself. The minute I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly receptionist, (Karyn I believe) and was introduced to the studio owners Kris and Briana. Having had no dancing experience, they made me feel at ease. I'm so glad I found this place and I highly recommend them read more

We have been taking dance lessons from Marcus since the studio opened. We enjoyed going dancing there at least two to three times a week. Marcus is an awesome instructor, explaining complicayed moves in an easy way to comprehend and follow. The staff is cheerful and engaging and the studio is nice. We have been waltzing and tangoing every Friday at the studio dance parties. Thank you, Marcus for all the fun! read more

What a fun and welcoming place to learn dance! This beautiful studio across from Nellie Gail offers a large variety of options and I can see that it attracts people of all abilities/ages. The knowledgeable and personable pro teachers come up with a custom plan to reach individual dance goals whether it's social dancing, competing, or dancing as a hobby. It is a safe and supportive place to explore movement! I have been going to this dance studio for over a year and it continues to provide joy, laughter, and learning each week in private lessons, dance cardio "LaBlast", group classes, themed practice parties, etc! It is turning out to be a valuable and enriching community in so many ways. Private lessons with owner Kris and with newcomer Mateo have been top notch instruction as well as tips from the beautiful female teachers Brianna and Taya! The group classes I've attended have been completely worthwhile as well. read more

My husband and I wanted to have a great first dance for our wedding on 09/30/2017 and neither of us knew how to dance. We signed up for 10 personal lessons with Marcus to learn a choreographed first dance. We picked two songs. Marcus helped us put the two songs together for a 2 minute dance and created a dance to fit us and the music we had chosen. He was very patient, positive, great teacher. Since both my husband and I didn't know how to dance, Marcus showed and explain to us exactly what to do. He made the choreographed worth it on our wedding day. All our guest said it looked perfect, flawless, and fun (even though we kind of messed up a bit). Had to say thank you to Marcus. read more

My husband and I came here for a few dance lessons before our wedding. We had a great experience with Cherish and she was very helpful in teaching us just a few "fun" moves to incorporate because we didn't want a full choreographed dance. We did the free class and then 3 additional lessons. Thank you! read more

My husband and I took dance lessons here to create a fun and memorable dance for our wedding! Everyone at the studio is so supportive and patient which made it a very enjoyable experience! We always looked forward to our lessons and time there and now that our wedding has passed -the dance was amazing btw- we are missing our time there and looking forward to returning to further our dance repertoire. We wholeheartedly recommend them anyone looking to learn to dance, they can work with two left feet and all and before you know it you'll be dancing! read more

Marcus who teaches many classes is the best you will find around. He is an excellent teacher, explains and shows what details are necessary to "make the dance." Many instructors elsewhere do not have that eye for important details, thus, the dances all become one and you cannot tell or feel the difference. His positive outstanding personality is fun. Marcus himself is very particular about his own ability as a professional dancer. I am not one to put another studio down; I hope this note will send many to try this studio. If you want to understand, look, feel whatever dance you learn, you will receive the best instruction here. Great location, great everything. If you are just learning, the studio will empower you with positive reinforcement, if more experienced they will improve your dancing and make better than you have imagined. Always positive. always has the passion. read more

Fred Astaire is an amazing dance studio. The students and instructors create a great sense of community. The Friday night dance parties are a great way to practice your dancing as well as socialize and have fun. The studio is very bright and open and has a great view of Nellie Gale across the street. I would absolutely recommend coming here. read more
