This was my first time trying Fred Astaire Dance Studios thanks to ClassPass! I've been meaning to take dance classes but this is the only dance class in my area. I'm so glad I tried it out! I signed up for Ladies Styling and met Tanya the instructor. She is very warm, welcoming, friendly and she knows how to move! The best part for me, especially being a beginner in the styles of dancing (Rumba, ChaCha) was that because of my previous experience in music and ballet dancing, she helped to explain the differences in these styles and why they work. I was also able to meet Cozy (the male instructor) and three other ladies that attended the class. Again, even their energy was warm light and welcoming. I'd say not only is the dancing fun to learn as well as to perform, but the people there really make it a nice environment to learn in as well. I'm looking forward to trying it again! If you're on the fence about having a choreographed first dance for your wedding, DO IT! Less than a month before our wedding, we decided we wanted to try taking dance lessons for fun. After one introductory lesson, we were hooked. We signed up for 5 classes (that was all we could fit in weeks before our wedding and with our busy schedules). Nick was our instructor and he was amazing! We're both beginners and he was great at teaching us dance moves we could handle that also went well with our song. We were nervous to learn but he was patient and made sure we were comfortable with each move. He even incorporated a lift into our dance which was so much fun! Overall highly recommend, the whole staff is friendly and welcoming. It's a great bonding experience and the crowd went wild for our first dance during the wedding! We had 5 sessions with Briana to choreograph our first dance. She is so wonderful! It was the best possible experience, especially since neither of us had any dance experience. Nick is the absolute best!!! My husband and I took 5 dance lessons with Nick for our first dance. We both had zero dance experience, but Nick was super patient in teaching us the basics and built up our confidence so that our first dance turned out amazing for our wedding. My now husband and I decided to take some classes for our first wedding dance. Matea worked with us to choreograph a dance to the song we chose that was fun and within our limited dance skills. He was fun and patient and an amazing dancer. What a great experience! My husband and I went to Fred Astaire to learn how to dance before our wedding day with our "first dance". We had a couple of sessions leading up to the wedding and it got us comfortable enough to have much fun on our wedding night! Not to mention it was nice having a weekly date night to go practice together! They also have locations all over the nation so my father went to a Florida location where he learned to dance for our father daughter dance! We had the most wonderful experience working with Nick to choreograph our first dance for our wedding! All the staff is so kind and helpful and helped us start from little dance experience to a fun and joyous dance routine! Although I had some previous dance experience, my fiancée did not; Nick was able to help teach us basic steps, combinations and put them together for a great routine during our private lessons. We really enjoyed having a moment together, each week, leading up to the wedding- a time to be with each other and do something fun in the midst of all the crazy wedding planning. My husband and I wanted to have a great first dance for our wedding on 09/30/2017 and neither of us knew how to dance. We signed up for 10 personal lessons with Marcus to learn a choreographed first dance. We picked two songs. Marcus helped us put the two songs together for a 2 minute dance and created a dance to fit us and the music we had chosen. He was very patient, positive, great teacher. Since both my husband and I didn't know how to dance, Marcus showed and explain to us exactly what to do. He made the choreographed worth it on our wedding day. Marcus who teaches many classes is the best you will find around. He is an excellent teacher, explains and shows what details are necessary to "make the dance." Many instructors elsewhere do not have that eye for important details, thus, the dances all become one and you cannot tell or feel the difference. His positive outstanding personality is fun. Marcus himself is very particular about his own ability as a professional dancer. I am not one to put another studio down; I hope this note will send many to try this studio. If you want to understand, look, feel whatever dance you learn, you will receive the best instruction here. Great location, great everything. Fred Astaire is an amazing dance studio. The students and instructors create a great sense of community. The Friday night dance parties are a great way to practice your dancing as well as socialize and have fun. The studio is very bright and open and has a great view of Nellie Gale across the street.
