They focus on technique as well as performance, doing so in a fun, positive way that allows the kids to grow and improve at their own pace. Miss Shari is super organized and keeps dancers and parents well informed so that things flow smoothly. But what we love most of all is the culture at GDC. The teachers genuinely care about the kids as whole people. They are kind, caring, and inclusive with a desire for every kid to shine, work hard, and be their best. Good sportsmanship and positivity are modeled from the top and expected from all. We could not ask for a better dance family. I highly recommend GDC!

Taki, the coffee head barista, did an outstanding job with my brown sugar cinnamon latte. The design, the presentation, the taste--everything was spot on! There are also delicious bites and treats available. If you've never had anything from Borinquen Bakery in New Britain, now is the perfect time to try! Everything is freshly made daily. The atmosphere is so calming, with plenty of tables to sit, eat, and drink. Definitely check it out!

If you're from around the area, you might have noticed a familiar barista at a few independent…read morecoffee shops. His name is Taki Tanaka, and he's a master at crafting any coffee you might desire. He can be currently found at the very unique space combining dance and drinking coffee, Garage Dance Studio & Coffee Lounge. While the dance studio and the coffee lounge share the same space, they don't share the same hours of operation. I was here a few months ago, to find the coffee portion in the dark and the dance floor in full bloom! I came again yesterday afternoon, to find the opposite. This time the coffee lounge was open, and no one was on the dance floor. The inside is set to look like you're in somewhere in Madrid amongst the colorful buildings, where the tables are all adorned with red tablecloths. Of course, the barista working was Taki Tanaka. We chatted briefly and he made me the most delightful Honey Fig Latte. It was creamy, foamy, with a beautiful rose art design he hand poured himself. This was mildly sweet, rich in coffee, utterly satisfying with each sip. I just wish there was dance to see.

We have only gone here for one lesson so far, but we love it!…read more Alexi was our instructor, and he was amazing. My fiance and I are NOT dancers, and are trying to prepare for our wedding. We went in a bit nervous and unsure of how it was going to go. Alexi immediately made us feel at ease with jokes, asked us great questions, and helped us feel like this was a doable thing. The other staff members we met were also really nice, and the whole vibe there was pleasant and welcoming. I was sort of dreading our first lesson, but now I'm looking forward to the next one! It's not cheap, but it's also not THAT expensive, and I think it's worth the price.

It pains me to give this three-star review, but it must be done…read more This is such a fun little place to learn to dance. Wall-to-wall dance floor, a mirrored wall, and a good sound system to keep the beat. Our dance teacher was very nice, and taught us to do a few basic dance steps during our time with her. However... and I mean however... the pricing structure. I purchased an affordable dance class package for my girlfriend's birthday. We went together to the five classes, and we had a great time. However, when it came time for more classes, my girlfriend showed a PRE-PURCHASED dance package which she got online. They denied our coupon. Because the package I bought was some sort of "introductory deal," they said we wouldn't be able to receive any more discounts. There was no evidence of this policy printed ANYWHERE, it just suddenly decided to make itself known. For lack of a better term: bull$#!%. Apparently there's a point when we start saving too much money on your dance classes? That's not a business plan, that's a direct route to alienating customers. It's 50 bucks a class unless you get the packages. Be PREPARED for that.

Update: Connie has added weights and made the Barre classes a complete workout. Love this place!…read more I've been taking Barre classes with Connie here off and on for a couple of months now. I love the studio; it is bright and spacious. Not underground or in a basement somewhere like some studios are. There is a regular group that comes to these classes and even though they all know each other, they are warm and inclusive of new people. The only thing holding me back from giving RNS Barre class five stars is that weights aren't used and I don't feel I get much of an upper arm workout. The energy is fabulous and it is definitely a great workout. Update: weights were used in class today. First time I've seen this. I'm waiting to change my rating until I see
