Only reason it gets two stars is the place is clean. This review is directed to those looking for…read moreemployment at this facility. My experience was 5+ hours of MY time for 3 separate meetings over the course of 2.5 week in which I had to contact the director twice to move the ball a little faster, although in the initial interview I was told that time was a factor, that the position would be vacated by the current employee very soon. The director also proceeded to inform me of her dissatisfaction for the current employee in some detail, and was glad to see this person moving on. The last meeting was a complete joke. I had a mystery box cooking demo in which I had two hours to prepare a starter, entree and dessert for 6 guests. The ingredients I was given were not conducive to the environment. A whole chicken, partially frozen shrimp, cous cous. And other random ingredients. Sorry folks it's not Morton's steak House. Nobody is butchering whole chickens for service of over 100 people. Half frozen non peeled shrimp? Peel and eat shrimp boil anyone? Let's not mention that I'm smashed into a 2'x2' space next to a prep sink with three cooks a pastry chef and dishwashers trying to get prepared for lunch service! Or that some of the equipment I needed to use was in various states of disrepair. I wish the successful candidate the best of luck, with the current state of disrepair of the kitchen and the monkeys running the circus, it'll be a challenge to say the least.

We visit often and everyone always seems well cared for and the staff is always friendly. We had visited 7 communities before choosing Pine Ridge and my Mother chose this one based on the brightness of the facility and flexible dining room options. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a senior residence to take a look at this one!

Oh boy, where to begin....I don't have the energy now to articulate all my concerns. I just want…read moreto get my review out their to give pause to those considering this place. First, the food, which will be very important to your loved one, is wretched. They boast a gourmet chef, but the reality is the food is probably better in prison. Housekeeping services, which you pay for, are underwhelming. Be prepared to go help your loved one clean. They will nickel and dime you to death. My loved one never experienced theft, but random visitors and some of the aides recommended that I should install cameras in the room. It was suggested that those with cameras get better treatment and that my loved one may have been harrassed. This is a big one... American House replaced their medical care team with an outside company called AdvisaCare. You do not want anything to do with this unprofessional company. Your loved one may be healthy now, but as time goes on, they will inevitably need medical services. It seems that this company, whose cliental is elderly people is full of employees that don't know how to deal with old people. I personally wouldn't trust them to take care of a pet. AdvisaCare is involved in many ways. For example, they handle small serivces, like getting a meal delivered from the cafeteria to your loved one's room. Your loved one may need that service if they are ill or had a fall and can't walk, etc. That service, which constitutes an AdvisaCare employee carrying slop in a styrofoam box a short distance, costs $5.00 per meal (i.e. $15.00 per day). What if you need more services like a push in a wheel chair? That is an extra fee. How about incontinent care? Hope they come and change your loved ones diaper and that they don't sit in urine all day. Oh, the AdvisaCare folks may thrown the dirty diaper on the floor or put it in your loved ones kitchen sink. Then, the manager of American House will call you and tell you there is an extra housekeeping fee for the mess caused by AdvisaCare. Does your loved one take medications? Of course they do. Once the point comes where you don't trust your loved one to take the right amount at the right time, etc. you will be relying on AdvisaCare....for an extra fee. Good luck. They may bring someone else's meds or run out of the meds your loved one needs and never bother to inform you. You may get a call saying, "We bumped your loved one's head moving them and want to send them to the hospital, okay?" It seems like the aides are eager send people to the hospital. I suppose they won't have to deal with your loved one if they get rid of them for awhile. There is a doctor that roams the halls of the American Houses named Dr. Hackle. He and the AdvisaCare team will solicit business. He may somehow end up as your loved ones' primary care physician (PCP). Your loved one may catch a cold and you may be encouraged to enroll them in the AdvisaCare Home Health program or the AdvisaCare Hospice program. They will charge Medicare and your loved ones private insurance until they can't get away with it, then they will terminate your love one. Won't you be surprised if you get an Explanation of Benefits for occupational and physical therapy that you didn't request? Supposedly, AdvisaCare Home Health and the AdvisaCare Hospice are different companies than the local AdvisaCare team even though they all share the same corporate and regional offices. They purport to all work together. Yet, one group will never know what the other groups is doing. Worse, the local folk will tell you a duty is not theirs and to call the other group of people. For example, the AdvisaCare Home Health group may order a hospital bed for your loved one and tell you they coordinated with the local AdvisaCare team to move your loved one into the bed. When the bed arrives, it will be pandemonium. You will get calls saying you need to get down their ASAP. The local AdvisaCare works will say their backs hurt and they can't move your loved one and that they didn't know about the bed. Why am I referring to AdvisaCare in an American House review? First, American House allows them to work at their properties. AdvisaCare is part of the American House experience. You may even get ping-ponged between the two companies. Finally, let's face it, as your loved one ages, they will need more and more assistance. They may even end up in hospice at American House through AdvisaCare. Unless you bring indoor own medical team, you will inevitably deal with AdvisaCare. You can expect yearly rent increases from American House. At some point, you will realize that you are paying double the rent than new tenants. It is difficult to move elderly folks once they are established so you will likely end up going along with these increases. Think about that before you get locked in at this place unless you are willing to move your loved one if you or they are not happy.
