In Richmond for an event over Memorial Day weekend, we needed a place to stay that wasn't going to require donating a kidney. Hotels were at a premium and Airbnbs were limited.
Luckily I found this B&B on a popular hotel site for an extremely reasonable price. David, the B&B manager, was so friendly and accommodating. We were 2 hours later than we thought we'd be due to the border crossing. David put us at ease and was there at the front door with a smile on his face when we arrived.
Parking was easy and right in front of the house. There is street parking in the neighborhood if the house's parking spaces are taken.
David gave us a quick tour and told us what was in the area within walking distance. We were told to help ourselves to breakfast or snacks in the fridge (including ice cream bars).
The house is large and very clean. You must take your shoes off at the door. There are slippers to use if you'd like. I am a stickler for cleanliness and I had no issue walking around in my socks.
From what I understand there are three rooms available to book. The one we booked had a private bathroom but the other two share a washroom.
Our room was well appointed with a desk, coat rack, vanity, tv, and hot water kettle. The bathroom has a shower and separate bathtub. Included are soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer.
I'm so happy we found this B&B! Now that I know it exists, we will be back if we ever need to stay in the area. read more
