If you value being treated with respect, I would suggest you find elsewhere to buy a bicycle. This afternoon I made a call into Fraser bicycle, and spoke with somebody name Mike, I explain to him I had a folding bicycle that needed service and possibly parts he said to bring it in and said they were running about three weeks out on repairs. When I arrived at the service counter there was a very rude old man with a gray beard pouring with sarcasm and treating me like I was stupid. Pointing at the brand of my bike and repeating the name loudly when I asked why he was talking to me that way he raised his voice at me and said "I don't have an account with that company you gotta order the parts!!!" As though I'm aware of these sorts of things -- I don't work a bike counter sir, you do. Unbeknownst to him I was also in the store to purchase a new fitness bike for myself with a budget of between $3000 - $4000 -- I told him that he'd lost the sale because I would never spend a dime with a business that treated people so poorly, I told the surly old man he was a prick and left. TL;DR - Old guy there behaves like a disrespectful bully, cost store large sale. read more

The previous chief mechanic and manager, Ron Schmid, was terrific. Many of the other positive reviews mention Ron--he is no longer there. Since he left during spring of 2022, this store is not customer friendly and should be avoided. I am an avid cyclist. In the past 5 years I purchased over $50,000 of bikes and parts from this shop. In spring, 2022, shortly after new manager took over (owner's son Taylor), I needed a slight adjustment to brakes on my $8,000 road bike purchased at their shop. I was told I could leave my bike for 3-4 weeks and they might be able to perform this 10 minute to 1/2 hour task. There are plenty of other very competent bike shops whIch welcome servicing customers who make substantial purchases. read more

Melissa was nothing short of auh-mazing!! The Hubs and I wanted bikes for all the great trails and paths in the area, so we started shopping around. We bought bikes from a local sports shop and they both broke within 30 days. We were bummed, but knew it would be worth it to drop some money on a good bike. We walked in and Melissa helped us out right away. She asked what we were going to be riding them on, and took into consideration that I have lower back problems and that The Hubs is over 6'4". So she helped us get the right frame shape and size, as well as the wheel size. Are the bikes expensive, yes. Are they worth it...110%!! The bikes are fit to each rider!! The staff was very nice and helpful, and I can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer so we can get back to riding!! read more

Oh praise your bicycle runs a very nice business. I recently purchased a bicycle from Steve. He is very knowledgeable and very helpful. After my purchase I was having difficulty peering my phone with Bluetooth to the bicycle computer. I brought the back to the shop and they worked on that for a short time and figured out that my Bluetooth watch was interfering with the signal to the bicycle. They spent a lot of time and effort and Got everything working properly for me. They have a very friendly and helpful staff. I couldn't be happier with the service that I received when I went to get my first "real bike". I was a little apprehensive about spending so much, but the much cheaper bike that I got from a near by big box sporting goods store literally fell apart after a few rides, even after being "repaired". I wanted something that will last, and someplace to go if it doesn't. The service level was over the top good, and I was fit to a bike that's just about perfect. At the beginning of this season, I took the bike in to redeem my complementary tune up, and I was surprised that I was in and out in a short amount of time. I expected that I would have had to make an appointment or drop it off for a few hours and have the staff be annoyed, but that was not the case. Everyone has been very kind, courteous and helpful during each of my visits. As a novice to this type of biking (or should I say, cycling) and this level of product, I was full of questions and uncertainty, but that didn't deter the staff and they never showed signs of frustration when dealing with this newbie. I've had nothing but fantastic experiences at Fraser Bicycle. I am a road and tri biker but I'm sure if you were a causal, bmx, or mountain rider your experiences will be the same. They have gone the extra mile for me on about 3 different occasions including meeting up with me at a race on the other side of the state to deliver a helmet. I have used both the mechanic and fitting service and they really know what they are doing. Fitting is a must for triathletes and road bikers. I can't say enough good things about these guys. These guys were great. Daughter's bike tire wouldn't hold air, and even though I felt half-stupid walking into a "real" bicycle shop with a kid's bike tire, they were prompt, professional, laughed with me about it all and very quick in getting the tube replaced for a pretty cheap price. I'm content. Walked around while I was waiting...and wowsers can you get crazy with bicycles these days, or what? What I spent on my old Cannondale is nothing any more compared to what you can blow on a new bike these days. Bikes with tires the size of motorcycle tires. Crazy, mad super lightweight bikes for racing. Ultra-sturdy stuff for off-road (or, let's be honest with each other about how the roads are - "on road") biking. Just a whole ton of cool stuff in here. If you're thinking about getting a "real" bike, I'd definitely have this place on your must-check list. read more

This has got to be the best cycle/multisport shop in the Detroit area. I raced for Team Fraser for two years and couldn't have asked for a better team. If you're looking for a bike, Chris, Ron, Aaron or Melissa will guide you without pressure. If you're looking to train, then Tony will guide you. The computrainer lab is second to none in the area. These guys saved my vacation. : ) Delta Airlines broke my Cervelo traveling from Los Angeles to Detroit on a Sunday. I called Fraser Bicycle before they even opened on Monday morning and was told to come on over. He literally told me he would drop everything when I got there. We show up about a half hour later and he fixes my bike, sells me an extra derailleur hangar, throws in some axle spacers, and teaches me how to pack it better the next time. I'm glad they're still open during these unprecedented times! Parked out back as they would come up and greet their customers to make sure everybody was taken cared of. We were asked 3 times if someone was helping us (which is awesome service) as retail shopping has been painful with wait times. We had went to every bike store around here knowing stores wouldn't have my size or I would hate the color of the bike lol and was expecting to order one in. We actually just came from the Trek store and wasn't even greeted or helped, walked out and Fraser bikes was on our way home. Steven was helping us out that day, and behold he brought out a flat matte blue Specialize Carbon sport gravel bike in my size! I like the fact that he was more than knowledgeable, helpful, chatted about bmx bikes and didn't try to push a sale or bring out a bike that was to big for me to look at. After a few rides down the street I was sold. I wasn't expecting to buy a bike today as we were only in to check out stock and get sized up, but today was the day! I have to thank the sales person who made it happen as he was more than friendly and I wouldn't have bought anything if the service was not up to par. I think I would give them less than 1 Star. They offer a MTB trade in to update your bike; however their initial offer is updated later with a much less price than what was initially offered. I read their references and it is impressive. The staff has a great resume with cycling and competitive sports. Just look at this photo I will attach. I will look elsewhere to upgrade my MTB. read more

Today, I went to take my bike in since the gears and the brakes were not working exactly right. I took it in and right away the worker said it needed a whole replacement. He really didn't look at it throughly yet. He also said the part needed is out of stock everywhere and I might as well get a new bike. Needless to say, I asked him to store it and see if there is another option. No other option so I took my bike home. But I couldn't understand how a bike at a repair shop is not fixable. So I got another opinion. Guess what? My bike was fixed in less than 3o minutes at the other bike repair shop. All it needed was a new tire, adjustment and tube up. Fraser bicycle repair may need to look into hiring honest and good people. I will never ever take my bike there again. Very horrible service. read more

My gf and I each had a bike fitting with Chris today. As recent grad schools grads he understood we were on a budget and made the fitting accommodate out budget and schedule. He didn't pressure us to buy new expensive bikes and worked really hard to make out current rides fit our needs. Absolutely fantastic bike fit experience. Mechanic, David, performed some maintenance on our bikes while we waited and didn't even charge us for the labor. All in all, great group of people to work with. The shop has a ridiculous inventory of bikes and accessories. They have every kind of bike ranging from starter bikes to $10,000 super bikes. We peeked at their basement computrainer lab, which looks incredible. We'll definitely be back for a ride or two! read more

Went in today to just get some info. My husband and I are new to the area and are planning on purchasing some bikes in the late spring. We were approached by a man who we found out later was the owner. Started telling him about what we liked and disliked about bikes we had in the past. He was very condescending and basically rude. He insulted me by saying I obviously didn't have very much experience with bikes and didn't know what I was talking about. He could have made some life long customers with just some basic customer service skills (he could have started with friendly and ended with being nice...) He never introduced himself and I finally asked him if he was the owner. I will never understand how people stay in business if they treat any customer this way. I will go out of my way to go somewhere else and hopefully be treated like a valued customer even if I don't know what i am talking about. :-) read more

Disappointed in this shop. Nice looking, professionally run, but more interested in making money than customer satisfaction. I bought a very expensive Specialized, carbon frame from them that had a manufacturing defect and instead of making it right, they charged me for an $84 part to fix it. OR I was given the option to wait a week for them to epoxy it which sounded like an imperfect solution. Extremely disappointed with the shop and the whole experience. read more

I was looking to buy my first road bike. I found the staff at Fraser to be rather elitist and not helpful. Also they suggested a 51 inch bike for me. I ended up purchasing a bike at another store. They took the time to make sure my new bike was fitted properly. The correct size for me was a 54 inch. When I was at Fraser, they had just received a bike that I wanted to test out. They were going to put it together and call me when it was finished. Three days later, I have not received a call. Guess they weren't looking to make a sale. read more

I was interested in buying a road bike so I asked around, did some research, and came across several shops. One that stood out most was Fraser Bicycle. Keep in mind, I am not an experienced rider/athlete at all; in fact, this was the first time I looked into getting a nice, quality bicycle. I went into the Fraser location knowing nothing about what I needed, such as size, brand, etc. HOWEVER...The staff was INCREDIBLE! I spoke to the owner (Paul), his son (Taylor), and one of the primary mechanics at the shop (Ron). All were willing to help me out...above and beyond!! They made me feel like a valuable customer and I purchased a beautiful Specialized Road Bike along with other accessories. I'm over the moon for this new bike!! They also spoke to me about their Fraser Bicycle Race Team, the charity work they do, repairs, and about riding in their training facility. This shop does soooo much for their customers and I would highly recommend it for anyone. I also noticed they opened a third location in Ann Arbor, which is closer for me. I will definitely be a long term customer, and who knows, maybe even a Team Fraser race member in the future!? Overall, I am looking forward to showing my new bike off and bragging about the quality of Fraser Bicycle! read more

I am completely new to cycling. I came into the store because I was thinking about participating in a triathlon. The staff could not have been more helpful. They recommended a less expensive road bike instead of a Tri bike because they thought that I'd be more comfortable on it and, therefore, ride it more. A normal store could have taken advantage of me, this store did not. They answered all of my newbie questions with complete professionalism and enthusiasm and continue to do so, as I am now a regular customer. i bring in my mountain bike for a simple brake bleed. received a call later saying that my brakes are un-serviceable and are so old that the "fitting" is no longer available, and that they are inferior. 200 for a replacement set and another 190 for a tune up including some other parts and labor. i would have spent the money for the cassette, chain, and tune up no problem. however i was lied to about my brakes and when picking up my bike was told it was too small for my size, and not worth putting any money into, and said i should just buy a new bike. the guy seemed to think i was an idiot. now instead of paying them to fix my bike, i went to the hardware, spend about 10 dollars in hosing, large syringe and fixed my brakes my self. read more
