When I called to schedule I was told the first available appt was not for another few weeks. When I relayed that the E.R. Dr called and was told he could see me right away the office rep told me he did not accept my insurance. The woman doing the scheduling told me I could be seen but would have to pay out of pocket. I explained that I called my insurance beforehand and was approved because this Dr. was in network she put me on hold again and said she would look up my information. She seemed to be trying to find ANY reason not to see me until I finally just gave up after the 4th time I was put on hold.

Dr. Weaver has been my ENT for two years. Dr. Weaver's accurate and timely diagnosis of a severe medical condition in 2012 saved my life. Dr. Weaver is top notch. He will receive my ENT business until he no longer wants my business. This doctor office gets me in front of the doctor at exactly my scheduled appointment as long as I arrive five to ten minutes before my scheduled appointment time to check in.

My father is confined to a bed at a nursing home so to get him out of the nursing home to an office is a huge deal! I have to schedule time off work, book transportation to pick him up, and schedule a nurse to go with us. We get to his office today and my father thought he was going to be sick from the car ride over so I asked for a bag for him. After a minute he was fine and he didn't get sick. So the receptionist opens the window and asks "does he have a virus?" I tell her no he's just nauseated from the car ride and his tumor blocks his air way which also makes him feel sick. She disappears and then comes back and says "the doctor can't see him if he's getting sick." Again, I tell her he's fine he just thought he was going to be sick. Can you please explain to the doctor and ask him to reconsider. She disappears again and comes back and says he refuses to see your father since he may be ill. THE DOCTOR WON'T SEE HIM BECAUSE HE MIGHT GET SICK. WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR DOESN'T SEE SICK PATIENTS? I called for transportation to pick up my father and we had to sit there for another 30 min waiting; all the while my father never got sick. But honestly, what doctor refuses a sick patient?! PISS POOR SERVICE. Oh, but the flier on the desk says "Dr. Weaver believes in taking time to develop a TRUSTING physician-patient relationship, treating each patient equally and with due respect". The two flights back wreaked havoc on my ears - during the second flight descending into Dulles - I could not equalize the pressure in my ears through the normal methods (yawning, swallowing, etc.). The insides of my ears felt like they were going to literally explode and I could barely hear anything. Dr. Rhee looked inside my ears, nose - and asked me a few questions, and reviewed the information from the ER doctor from the night before. I spent over an hour calling ENT doctor's office within a 40 mile area. No offices had any appointments for at least 2.5 weeks. Yesterday I tried Dr. Brager office after 3 tries to reach someone. Finally a person not a recording answered the phone. They said come to the office today, what a pleasant surprise. We arrived at the office and waited about 40 minutes to be seen. It was upsetting at first to wait but Dr. Brager was great. He evaluated my son, explained the treatment and called in a prescription. He even told the pharmacist a substitution medication that saved us over $50 compared to the urgent care prescription. Although Dr. Brager's office is about 1 hour away, it was worth the ride and I'll return there again.

Instead, she informed me I would only have 15 minutes to discuss one specific issue, which left me feeling frustrated and hesitant to seek care at this office. I just completed my two year check up and couldn't be happier with my hearing aids, and the service I receive in the Mechanicsville office. They support holistic approaches and truly focus on treating underlying conditions and not just symptoms but they are impossible to get a hold of to get prescriptions refilled. The office number says they don't accept prescription refill requests over the phone but if they answer then they "do" only for them to not send the prescription to the pharmacy for weeks. You have to hound them over and over for days, get an appointment and remind the doctor three or four times in order to get my simple blood pressure medications and insulin refilled. The care is good even though the office is dreary, dull and outdated but the prescription refill process is a catastrophe.
