If I could give Dr Lerebour ten stars , I would. Had a Very pain-full rotator cuff surgery but this Dr's surgical repair has been incredibly flawless. His Attention to care , following up and bedside manners are of upmost professional. And of coarse his staff all work hand in hand for a great patient experience. Seems like a decent guy but as a provider he can greatly improve . I had my acl reconstructed this past December and boy do I regret it . I should have shopped around and found a different provider .I undoubtedly would have paid thousands of dollars less , my credit would not have been ruined ., and my newly constructed acl would still be in tact . Some of the things I wish I knew before getting my surgery done by this provider are : 1) while HE is in network the OUTPATIENT SURGICAL SUITE (DOCS) is NOT nor is the ANESTHESIOLOGIST he partnered with to do my surgery . To date I have had to pay $1200+ additional because this was not disclosed to me . I also have had a $2000 bill recently go into collections related to the anesthesia I received during my surgery . The anesthesia group ( conservative care ) has horrible reviews as well as the medical debt collection agency they sold my debt off to . 2) while the specific type of acl reconstruction surgery he performed is better than the alternative cadaver graft procedure ...the specific type of surgery he performed has a high retear rate for ( over 60%) for women . I did everything he told me to do and while I was on the east coast recovering my knee gave out and I fell down a flight of stairs . He had told me to stop wearing my brace but if I knew about the high retear rate I would not have . I am now exactly where I was before getting the surgery in terms of having limited mobility and chronic knee pain but the main difference is that I am thousands of dollars poorer and my credit is ruined . As a provider he and his administrative staff should have disclosed to me or at least encouraged me to verify that the entities he partnered with were also in network . He should have also disclosed what the risks were and given me accurate data about possible a retear. Other good providers who really care about their patients would have . read more

Dr. Lerebours is kind, attentive, and straightforward. He told me the bad news I kept on denying (I'm a candidate for a knee replacement) but framed a joint replacement as an option on the menu, not a requirement right now. He agreed to more physical therapy (something a local doctor I saw flat-out refused) and said I could still have shots. I had so much swelling, locking and pain after a trial nerve block for the knee 6 months earlier in NorCal that I had really given up hope of being in less pain let alone pain free. Dr. Lerebours offered me the choice of a cortisone shot. He deftly gave a cortisone injection, and was very gracious to call me when I had reported some unusual swelling and pain afterward. It cleared up quickly as he predicted and he even checked in via email a few days later to make sure I was doing good. PS- It was the BEST, longest lasting and most effective cortisone shot I've EVER had. It brought me to a new level of functioning I had honestly given up on. In short, Dr. Lerebours is dedicated and caring, using his high level skills and knowledge in a way that engenders trust and partnership with his patient. If I have a knee replacement one day, I know who I want to do it. Until that day, I know I can count on Dr. Lerebours to take care of my bum knee if it acts up again (which I'm sure it will). PS his medical assistant Luis is a SAINT who has tirelessly helped with long distance orders and support. So grateful! read more

Dr. Lerebours helped me walk again after a traumatic accident. It was a full muscle, ligament and tendon repair to my right leg. It was a whole 360 degrees attachment around the knee, I'll spare the wordy medical terminology lol. I went from bedridden, to taking a picture with my favorite DJ on the dance floor ...in less than 5 months. Yes, I know. And what was less than 5 months, just felt like a couple weeks because of the rest of the staff. Luis, has been the most dedicated person to my recovery and support throughout this injury. After the accident, I was not prepared for the insurmountable of paperwork that comes with an injury. He made sure to walk me through the DMV application for handicap, which is a headache in itself. Then, my job demanded constant, meticulous and tedious paperwork from their office. I couldn't be more grateful for Luis because he was speedy and efficient with all the short deadlines my job gave. I was basically a lost sheep he made sure that he took care of EVERYTHING. He didn't need to do half the things he's done for me and he did. I met Dr. Lerebours a few years ago when I had a bike accident and remembered how attentive and competent he was (bad experiences with other doctors, won't go into it here). When my knee troubles started a few months ago I found Dr. Lerebours and went back to him for help. When physical therapy wasn't fixing the problem, he we started planning for a total knee replacement (TKR). I can't promise you'll do as well as I did, but I had over 90 degree movement the day of the surgery and started riding a bike on a trainer right away. I went for a mountain bike ride today, 29 days after the TKR. It's less than four months after my initial visit and I'm back on the bike, doing PT, and getting better every day. read more

I had a total knee replacement by Dr Lerebours on 10/26/18 after interviewing several doctors. I am an attorney with many years of injury and medical malpractice emphasize. After our first meeting I was completely convinced that he was the person to trust and I was right. The surgery at Cedars was successful and he closely monitored my post-op care. I have had several post-op office visits and at 10 weeks he cleared me for. international travel and more importantly back to horseback riding. The rehabilitation requires commitment and is challenging but if you follow his instructions and guidance your result will exceed your expectations. My mother (Mina) does not have a yelp account so she wanted to write a review for Dr. Lerebours and have me post it: I am 75 years old, suffer from osteoporosis, and I fell and shattered my hip into a million pieces in 2019. I was rushed to Cedars Sinai Hospital and was introduced to Dr Lerebours as the surgeon that was going to perform my complete hip replacement surgery. I was terrified. Truth is I couldn't have found a better doctor even if I tried. He is so educated and explained every single thing to me. Step by step. C.A.Brooks Between the age fourteen and thirty-seven I had four hip surgeries. When I had the last surgery I was told I will need a hip replacement somewhere near the age sixty. Dr. Lerebours is the best. I would love to give him more stars if i could. This Doctor literally saved my arm. He did such an amazing job repairing my bicep. I had a full distal bicep tear and he fixed it. It has now been about 2 1/2 months after surgery and I have full motion with ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN!!! Most surgeons would have butchered up my arm with scars, but Dr. Lerebours told me that he would make just 2 incisions to fix me up. If I could give Dr. Lerebours a million stars, I would! I tell my family and friends he is my "angel." He is a natural talent, a brilliant doctor, and he saved me from being crippled! These days, when you have multiple injuries, you have multiple "specialists" treating you, which creates medical "silos." The beauty of Dr. Lerebours is his ability to break those silos and to look at the full person and at the situation at hand. He did that for me, and I wasn't even his patient! Here is the story: A couple of years ago I was in a motor vehicle accident; I had a head injury, a broken and separated shoulder, and foot and leg injuries. A top specialist diagnosed my foot and ankle as sprained, so I focused on my other injuries. After a few months, I was concerned that my foot wasn't healing, but the specialist reassured me that it would be ok with time. One day Dr. Lerebrours was accompanying my shoulder specialist, Dr. Itamara, on rounds. They were discussing my shoulder when Dr. Lerebrours innocently asked Dr. Itamura if my broken foot bone was being treated because if it wasn't, I could be crippled! Dr. Itamura looked down at my foot, blanched, and went into action -- he called another foot specialist who, sure enough, diagnosed me with a broken talon bone (which usually does not heal, and requires a metal plate to reconnect the break). Hi, I'm providing a 5 star rating as a preliminary rating as I just had my surgery on January 2nd. Dr. Lerebours was very diligent in his explanation of my complex surgery. I had hip replacements some 18 years ago and took a nasty fall on the slopes up in Mammoth. After being in the ER and hospital in Mammoth, the doctors suggested I get to Cedars for an opinion from my orthopedist (Dr. Klapper). After enduring the ER at Cedars, I finally got admitted and saw Dr. Lerebours. He explained I had multiple fractures based on the X-rays so we did the surgery on evening of January 2nd. Once I came out of recovery, I noticed my incision was some 20 inches long. Dr. Lerebours explained once inside, they found additional fractures. I know have a long steel plate with some 13 or so screws. Its now 2 weeks since surgery and I'm mobile by walker and crutches but no weight bearing on right leg. I see Dr. Lerebours on January 24th so hopeful for some good news. Pain management is the biggest issue right now. read more

I am 64 years old with a history of osteoarthritis. I was "bone on bone" in both knees. I was having more and more difficulty standing for a long period of time or walking very far. I went to Italy last summer and could not walk as much as I would have liked. I had to use a wheelchair at times because my walking was so limited. I knew I had only one alternative to my mobility problem and that was having my knee joints replaced. I had my left knee replaced on November 5 at Cedars. I felt I made the right choice for an orthopedic doctor. Having a knee replaced is a traumatic surgery and a painful recovery. I met Dr. Lerebours after a trip to the ER. He was very quick at assessing my situation and coming up with a plan after I broke my collar bone. I don't even know where to start. If I could give 100 stars I would. Seek out Dr. Lerebours only if you want someone HIGHLY competent, kind, compassionate, gentle, forthright and caring. Beyond all of this - you can sense the high level of perfectionism and skill he brings to his specialty. I have been in denial and in pain for the last 2+years and only after going to Dr. Lerebours via a referral (thank you!) did I find out I have probably had hip dysplasia since birth. I was currently bone on bone and my only option was a hip replacement. This is not what I wanted to hear, obviously as I'm still fairly young and was just not prepared for this news. However, after he explained how he does the procedure - I was 100% on board. I wanted it done THAT DAY...lol. He told me to research it, think about it and to schedule for follow up if I decided to go through with it. I did my research and made the best decision for my health and decided to go ahead with it. Now, I know everyone's pain tolerance and mental preparedness for surgical procedures are different. But...I am not even kidding when I say I had the best surgery experience ever. From Prep to Post Op - very efficient, everything explained, a sense of calm and confidence from all the staff from the first minute I went in. His office provides a very concierge style experience and it's obvious they care about their patients. Luis is amazing and was always in communication and available to answer any and all my questions - very patient and supportive. I went in a little after 7a last Mon 8/19 and when I was waking in recovery, I asked what time it was and it was about 10a. I had NO "hangover" from the anesthesia because I was only put in twilight and had a nerve block and within 30 mins being wheeled in recovery (I think...lol at least it felt that way) I felt practically fully alert and in no pain whatsoever. The staff at Cedars were amazing too - and Dr. Lerebours was sure to stay on top of my recovery. I only had to stay an extra day due to my pre-existing anemia issues but he made sure I was taken care of and very quickly made sure I got what I needed. I stopped my pain meds the next morning after surgery because I honestly didn't need it. Don't get me wrong - I was stiff and there was definitely a pulsing ache but it was absolutely manageable with the Toradol - an anti-inflammatory vs the narcotic. I was walking with the walker and with the help of the PT that afternoon as promised. I had surgery on Monday, came home Wed morning - managed all my pain only with Tylenol thereafter. And by the end of the week, I was only taking as needed. It's not even two weeks yet and I have not taken any Tylenol for the last 4 days? It's such a relief because I had been taking nsaids for the last 2+years to manage my pain everyday and now...no pain. Everytime I hinged at the hip even the littlest bit, you could hear horrific cracking and popping and I could feel my bone just grinding. Now? all quiet and smooth :) I cannot emphasize enough how thankful I am to have found Dr. Lerebours and his staff. I highly recommend his office and I am honestly looking forward to doing my other hip when the time comes. read more

I broke my wrist last year on March 1st. After visiting the orthopedic surgeon at SCOI, my mom and I called Dr Klapper (who did my knee surgery in 2012) to see if he did wrists. While he told us he did not, how office did recommend Dr Lerebours. Great choice! Not only is he professional, he truly cares about how his patients are doing. I had a reaction to some of the tape that was used in the bandage following my surgery. Since the drive was not possible to make every day until my next appointment, Dr Lerebours found a way for me to keep in touch with him and show him the progress of how the incision site looked as well as how the reaction area was looking. I contacted him today, at the one year mark since surgery, to say thank you again. I went to Dr Lerebours for the first time on Thursday 04/18/19. First of all I had a 10 am appointment. I was taken directly in for x-rays on my knee. That took 10 mins. It was 1 hour and 45 later that the doctor finally came into the exam room. He very briefly explained the x-ray which apparently said nothing so he ordered MRI's.there on the 6th floor of the same building. That took about 1/2 hour. Both the doctor and the MRI tech said the doctor would have the results on Friday 04/19/19 and that I could call him that afternoon for the results. I called the next afternoon and was told the doctor had "taken the day off". So, I called the following Monday and was told he would call alter that day...he never did. I called in the morning Tuesday and was told that he was told to call me. I waited. He never called. I called again and was put on hold, I waited but hung up after several minutes. I then called after 4 pm and was put on hold again. I told the staff that I was very unhappy with the treatment I was given and said I would be in to pick up my MRI's and take them to another doctor. I was told that I could not do that. I called my primary doctor and they told me I would need to pick them up at the MRI center which I will do. I am appalled at the lack of concern for my issues as demonstrated by doctor Lerebours. He did finally call and left a message asking me to come back in for a second appointment to discuss my MRI's. No, I'll find a doctor who actually demonstrates a caring professional attitude. read more

My 18 year old son had terrible hip pain that was only getting worse. We went to Children's hospital. An MRI was done and my son was referred to another doctor. This doctor misdiagnosed my son and prescribed physical therapy. Three months later, my son was not getting any better and a friend referred us to Dr. Lerebours. Dr. Lerebours examined my son and looked at my son's MRI and was able to diagnose my son's injury when two other well-respected doctors were unable to do so. I met Dr. Lerebours through my Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Klapper. Dr Klapper did a total hip replacement on me in March 2014 which was a great experience. In May of 2016 I was diagnosed with early stages of AVN of the left hip. Since there was no collapse, Dr. Klapper recommended Core Decompression surgery to try and save my own hip/structure to be performed by Dr. Lerebours. The surgery was performed in under two weeks of diagnosis. Right now, I'm in the waiting stage hoping that my hip will have new bone growth from the stems cells. I was compelled to write this for Dr. Lerebours because he is one of the most caring surgeons I have met. He spends as much time as you need talking and explaining everything you need to know. Of course, I had a list of questions when I walked in and he was able to answer every one. Today I had my post-op checkup with Dr. Lerebours after a hip replacement in late October. I almost can't say enough good things about this entire experience, from diagnosis to surgery to recovery. Dr. Lerebours has a lovely manner and always listened closely to me and answered all my questions. (Including the really important ones like, how big will my scar be and will I be able to wear high heels after this?) He didn't rush me into surgery at all, actually prescribing both physical and aqua therapy to try to keep me strong and flexible and possibly delay the inevitable. (In the event, both therapies were very helpful in my recovery, which has been quick and virtually painless.) My incision is about 3" long and has already started to fade. The operation itself was so much less traumatic than I'd expected, and I was able to walk without a cane, crutches or walker two days after surgery. I think that's down to Dr. Lerebours's skill as a surgeon, and the minimally invasive approach (direct superior) that he was able to take. After I left the hospital, a visiting nurse changed my dressing and I developed a rash, and Dr. Lerebours made time to see me immediately. It turned out to be nothing significant, but I really appreciated his taking it seriously and fitting me into his schedule. I have had 4 ACL tears and had dealt with multiple doctors and facilities but Dr. Lerebours was by far the best. Cedars-Sinai is top tier but it all starts with doctors. He is very welcoming each time coming into the office. After my special situation with my knee he had gave me his direct line to ensure that if anything happened I would be able to ask him what to do at any time of the day. Dr.Lerebours is really amazing- he saved my life! I had left ankle tendon surgery by another surgeon and was in a cast and crutches. I began feeling some back pain, but nothing I was too worried about, and consulted with Dr. Lerebours for safe measures. Without hesitation Dr.Lerebours advised me to seek further exams and screening as he was concerned about a blood clot. When I went to the ER, the doctor thought I was having a panic attack (as I was only in my early 30s) and gave me anti anxiety medication. Dr. Lerebours preformed hip replacement surgery on my right hip April of 2017. Before surgery I was barely able to walk and could do so only with the assistance of a cane or walker. I am a golf fanatic who was playing at least once a week before my hip pain happened. Dr. Lerebours was very professional, patient, and informative pre-op. The surgery went very well and I was up and walking with assistance the next day, Three month later I was hitting full wedges and four month post surgery played a full 18 holes. Sheer Luck. I'm new to Los Angeles, and I knew I had a problem. I asked around in my gym for any advice about "Great" Orthopedic doctors and the office of Dr.Klapper was given to me. (He's the ESPN Doc) I called, attempted an appointment, but he's slammed, they strongly suggested Dr. Lerebours. I was hurting and my thoughts were, that anyone with Klappers reputation is not going to hire just anyone. I was 100% right. Dr. Lerebours, (as soon as you can figure out how to say his name) came in, immediately put me at ease with his very relaxing, but professional manner. He did three simple tests on me and quickly diagnosed what two other doctors had missed: I had a torn rotator cuff. Ugh. This is where I really the 5th star got added to this review. He scheduled an MRI, from there surgery. It was in less than 2 weeks. I'm sitting here less than three weeks later typing this (He would NOT be happy about that!) review with a fixed shoulder. I feared the pain, the recovery, everything about the surgery. He was there before, explaining everything, smile on his face to calm me down. Afterward, he was very excited, he had repaired it all. He contacted me several times after, via phone and texts, answers every message I've sent, even on the weekends. He's incredibly young, but oh so smart. Just a great experience. Just a great guy. It will be fun to follow his career. Since I've had a couple of heart surgeries, I KNOW the importance of finding the best doctor in that field. I found the best in Orthopedics. After breaking (shattering) my collar bone skiing in Utah I came back to LA and got 5 different opinions and met with several of LAs top surgeons since it was clear I needed surgery. For someone who has never undergone a surgery in his life, you can imagine I was nervous about who was going to perform the surgery on such an important bone. This was a life decision . Not only was Dr Lerebours extremely knowledgable and certain in his evaluation , he was honest and clear about what the best course of action would be and spent time making me comfortable with the process . He came highly recommended by Dr. Klapper and other surgeons in the industry who credited his professionalism. I decided to move fwd with Dr Lerebours and it was a great decision. I was referred to the office by the heart transplant group at CSMC after I fell and broke my kneecap. Dr. Lerebours examined my knee and X-rays and explained what I had damaged and how it needed to be fixed. He was able to schedule surgery within a week. He was available whenever I had questions or needed adjustments made to the brace I wore post-surgery. He was totally wonderful .... I would definitely refer him and would return to him should the need arise. read more
