The beautiful sight of tissi's rotating in front of a fire breathing oven, potatoes in the tray below collecting the chicken juices as they fell, had me ready to run around the Bastille plaza yelling "LE MOUVEMENT!!". I thought this was going to be my first high level bird in the City of Light. Much to my chagrin, the one I got was just lukewarm. I was ready for my fingerprints to be fully burned off. There was so much potential here, but as always, I have to judge what's in front of me. If I don't have my integrity I have nothing. The store is in the smaller side and seems perpetually crowded but it seemed cleaner to me than the nearby G20. There's no bakery to speak of, but there are 2 great boulangeries on the same block. Overall, it had what we needed - snacks, cheap but decent wine ($3.19 bottles, holla!), mineral water and breakfast items. Cashiers are generally surly.

The produce looked fresh, there was good selection of frozen foods and though the store was busy, the line moved fairly quickly. You bag it yourself here, so it doesn't hurt to carry a bag of your own while visiting, or grab one of their reusables cheaply to bring back to the US with you as a souvenier of your overseas adventure.
