I haven't needed any transmission work done in quite a while so I didn't know what to expect price…read morewise. I usually do my own filters and fluid. I limped my truck in, they diagnosed it quickly, quoted me a fair price, did the work quickly and for the price quoted. Very happy customer- highly recommend.

These guys really helped me out! My car was diagnosed at a different shop needing a transmission…read morereplacement. The car was jerk-stopping while driving with no check engine light. Since the car had 95K miles I did not want to put a used transmission in it since the car had low miles. For me it would either be a rebuild or a remanufactured trans. The remanufactured trans were not available so it narrowed it down to a rebuild option that the original diagnosing shop would not be able to do. I called Rich at Riverside Transmission Center and made an appointment to have the car checked out. I had it towed in at lunchtime on Friday and he would check it out the same day. He called at the end of Friday to let me know that they needed another hour on Monday morning to be sure. It was no problem for me. Rich called on that Monday and told me that he hooked up a computer to the OBDII port and noticed that the speed reading on the computer was different than the speedometer. He then gave me good news that the issue was likely a speed sensor and I might not have to change the transmission after all. I gave him the OK to change the speed sensor and worked fine after that. Thanks Rich for saving me a transmission replacement! Five stars!

Found my new automotive repair shop!!! I have a pretty rare truck with a delicate paint job…read more Previously, I took my truck to the dealership to have maintenance performed. The dealerships really do NOT provide great service. One time I took my truck when it was relatively new to the dealership for an oil change and the service department didn't secure the oil filter properly. The next day I walked into my garage and there was oil all over the floor, engine and undercarriage of the truck. Imagine having to clean it up. It also ruined my pristine engine exterior and it smelled like burning oil for months. I was on a mission to find a reliable mechanic shop. I found Family Automotive Group on Yelp and noticed the great rating and excellent reviews. So I came to Family Automotive Group on Friday October 9, 2020 to get an oil change. They were a bit busy with another vehicle, but Brandon told me that they would be finished in an hour. So I went to eat lunch and came back an hour later and he immediately got to work on my truck. He was very careful with my vehicle and completed the oil change in about 15 minutes! I stayed there for a bit longer talking with Brandon and the Mechanic, Luc. They are SUCH genuine and friendly people! The honesty that they provide is EXTREMELY comforting to me, being that I value and take great care of my vehicles. People's cars are a big investment in their lives and we strive to maintain ours. I have finally found a repair shop that I can feel comfortable taking my vehicles to for years to come.

I just wanted to give Brandon and his business a great review. Despite being busy he was…read moreresponsive, kept me up to date on the status of my car, and also worked fairly fast. He did a great job with my X5 and pricing was also reasonable and affordable, which I really appreciated. Thanks again, Brandon. Such a pleasure to work with you. Appreciate your honest work!

ABSOLUTE SCAM (Must read) TLDR at the end if you want to…read moreskip the details. I would give less than 1 star if I could, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow it. Took my truck in today (10/7/2023) and there were 3 gentlemen "working." Had a loud squeaking sound coming from the front passenger side of the suspension assembly. They told me to leave it with them and they'll look at it so i said no problem and waited in the lobby for about 30 minutes. I parked my truck at a very specific angel with the wheel turned 3/4th of a full rotation towards driver side. (This is very important.) After the 30 minutes it took them to allegedly inspect the car, the same guy came out to the lobby still chewing on food and said that both of my control arms and ball joints are completely broken and need to be replaced. This alone would have made the car literally impossible to drive. he also seemed very nervous, was tapping on the desk rapidly and nervously, would not look me in the eyes, and had a nervous shaking voice. He then told me everything would cost about $1800 and that they conveniently had the parts on hand and would be able to get it done in less than an hour. I obviously told him nope and thanks for looking at it but that's completely BS, which he looked nervous and shameful. He then offered to do it for 1600 and explained the parts are really expensive (Both control arms are $212 for the highest quality ones on 1A Auto, and the ball joints are $86 for the nice set on most websites) I told him I don't want them touching my car and I'll go do it myself and asked for my keys. He hesitated, then slowly pulled them from his pocket and handed them over. When I walked back to my car, it had been parked at the same exact spot in the same exact angel and the same exact wheel articulation as when i had walked away. Absolute muppets they are. TLDR: Mechanic ate lunch while "looking at my car", didn't touch my car, and offered to replace perfect parts for $1800. I fixed it myself by greasing the ball joints.
