The customer service here is excellent and super friendly! I'm not sure what the employee's name was but he talked to us about Trinidad and he was seriously so kind and honest with his suggestions. He was truly helpful with helping us find what we need. This place isn't crazy overpriced and has the basic stand costs for many of the supplies we would need for our water sports. Will definitely come back again to check out what kayaks they have in stock again. Definitely check this place out!

As a boater, there's few places around Northeast Ohio that have a comprehensive selection of…read moreboating supplies (in one place) to fit your wide range of needs as a Lake Erie craft owner. Conveniently located on St. Clair, you can always count on West Marine to pick up everything you need in one full visit. There's a few meters right out front so be sure to bring quarters! My family has frequented this store for years to buy various technical and boat maintenance parts. They also carry kayaks, paddleboards, boat shoes, apparel and other things needed for pleasure boating or competitive sailing. They are also great at making sure their inventory online reflects what is actually in the store, so if you can't reach anyone when you call, you can depend on the online catalogue to determine whether or not to drive out. The store is super well-organized, clean and easy to navigate. The staff is very helpful and genuinely has an interest and understanding of the products they are selling, which is always appreciative and helpful (as opposed to just being generic people who have no clue what they're selling). Their products support a wide range of boats and aren't crazily overpriced. West Marine is a necessary spot for any boater in Ohio! You can count on them.

They also have one of the best varieties of dead baits though I myself do not care for using them due to not having much luck. Their hard bait selection is a bit lackluster but they have a very small space to work with and the location does not lend itself very well to hard baits unless one is going on a boat. Great little store though and am very pleased with the service and products I purchase every time I go.

It is small, but they have all of the necessary gear to fish Lake Erie or to head down to your local pond. I was disappointed with the minnows. They were very small and not hearty at all. I had a bucket with aerator and they didn't even last a few hours. I have had minnows from other shops in those buckets for a few days at a time. All in all, however, it is one of the only options in the area.

I always complained that there's really nowhere hyper local to get ski attire whether for actual skiing or after ski. I found just the place during Lakewood Chocolate Walk - Geiger's! AMBIANCE: Standalone store in downtown Lakewood that's apparently been part of the community since 1932 (wow!) For being such a longstanding retail space it's surprisingly modern. It really reminds me of Eddie Bauer's. The store has multiple rooms of outdoor attire. MERCHANDISE: Most of the attire (predominantly women's and children's) looks like chic athletic-ish attire to wear around Lakewood. Faux fur vests are especially soft and high quality. There is an entire room of skiing gear - skis, ski goggles, and sweaters with ski landscapes. There's also a pretty expansive selection of children's attire. You'll find popular brands like Patagonia and Yeti, and also less known brands. Prices are mostly what you'd expect at a high-end department store. SERVICE: The service at the store wasn't too attentive. Employees were a bit awkward with client interactions. Perhaps because it was busy. Check out this store if you are looking for winter attire like coats, chunky sweaters, gloves, and hats. There are plenty of choices here. I'll come back when I have more time to browse the coat inventory.
