Chosen Bun is a burger take-away and delivery shop located in Fulham. Their concept is simple: do a good burger, and make sure it will still taste good after it was driven around town. To solve the challenge of transporting a burger properly, they designed special packaging. I noticed this little shop on Fulham Road one evening when I decided to walk part of my commute instead of taking the tube. And soon after that, I came back to check out their burger. The shop looks very much like a fancy fast food restaurant. Staff are very friendly and it seemed that the atmosphere in the kitchen was really good. To the food, I ordered The Shoveman, a beef burger with cheese and bacon, with Belgians, that's their chunky skin-on chips with rosemary salt. After a short while, my food was ready and handed to me in their signature packaging - I stayed in store, but it was still interesting to see what they came up with. The burger tasted pretty good. It was not too messy to eat, the juicy patty was cooked medium and the burger was full of delicious flavours. The chunky chips were okay, but I had better chips in London. They are chunky and crispy, but not all are crispy. They are finished with rosemary salt, but they are far from other rosemary chips I've tasted before. Anyway, there are still some other interesting items on the menu that I'd like to try. As of now, they only deliver to a few post codes around the Fulham area, so in case you plan to stop by to pick up your burger, Chosen Bun is roughly between Fulham Broadway Underground station and Parsons Green Underground station.

The chicken wings were superbly tender as the meat literally fell off the bone with just a touch. Choose from three flavours to suit your fancy. Dipping sauce costs extra. Onion rings were good but could use a little work on the breading to onion ratio. Their burgers are delicious with a plump bun, thick patty and right amount of toppings. They offer a selection of beef, chicken and mushroom burgers along with creative sides like fried mac and cheese. Along with a handful of craft milkshakes, I will be dining here again.

One day not too long ago, a flyer slid through our letter box. Normally, I toss these sorts of…read morethings directly in the bin but this flyer was different. It was nicely designed. Cute. Intriguing. I picked up the flyer and brought it inside the flat for further review. Upon further review (a quick scan of Papa Chef's website and a notation that Papa Chef does not exist on Yelp), I became more intrigued. Curious. Excited. I showed the flyer to my husband when he got home from work. He too was intrigued, curious, and excited. He said, "I'm in. Let's order one night this week." YES! Let's order one night this week! And we did and the food was absolutely divine and ordering from Papa Chef once a week has become a part of our routine. There are two things to note about Papa Chef. 1) Papa Chef is a food delivery company only - there isn't a physical restaurant. 2) There are a few rules to follow when ordering from Papa Chef which are atypical of standard takeaway establishments. These rules require a slight amount of planning but, I promise, your planning effort will be well worth it! Papa Chef posts his weekly menu on his website and Facebook page on Sundays. I recommend reviewing the weekly menu on Sunday and selecting your day(s) to order. Below are the rules for ordering. 1) The minimum order is for two people. 2) Orders must be placed between 8am and 3pm on the day of [your desired meal]. Ordering is super easy. 1) Call Papa Chef. 2) Provide some details such as address, number of meals, and time of delivery. 3) Anxiously await the piping hot delivery by Papa Chef himself at your designated time (between 5pm and 9pm) that evening. Happiness and a full belly are guaranteed. Papa Chef has filled a gap in our lives that we did not know existed. This gap comes forth when we don't want to physically go to a restaurant, we don't want to order cheap, greasy, and unhealthy takeaway, and we don't want to cook. Here exists the "I want to eat restaurant quality food in the comfort of my own living room while dressed in my pajamas" gap. Papa Chef to the rescue! Papa Chef has also changed my mindset of French cuisine. Papa Chef cooks up rustic, hearty meals accompanied by a delectable dessert and fresh baked bread. His food is entirely too delicious for words. Place your order now - you won't regret it.
