I call at 4 pm the guys wife answers and I ask hey just checking if you're open she says yes. I ask if Anthony is available? To ensure that it's not just her there who I would assume cuts women's hair. She says ANYTHONY??? I say yes. Why would she be asking me who Anthony is like he doesn't exist when the damn barbershop is literally called Anthony's. She says no Michael. I chuckle okay no problem I ask if it's busy (this place was never busy and will never be busy because the guy and his wife that work there are literally the WORST BUSINESS OWNERS EVER alright so I go to the bank and get cash because buddy only takes cash. Cough cough IRS investigate this man. Anyways I walk in at 5:20 there time online says they close at 6. I walk in and he says we are almost closed , I'm all smiles this man has never smiled in his life like I'm the one at fault for entering his barber shop business for a HAIRCUT. I get into the chair and I ask do you shave beards with blade he points outside and says no you have to go to the black barber over there'. Okay buddy you're Chinese and look skilled why do you not use a blade to shape up beards. He finally decides to put the cover over me and says you don't need a haircut I'm like bruhhhh do your damn job. I have to explain to this guy that I need a haircut in a month before an event so I'd like to get a haircut now so I can get a haircut again later. We agree finally that to keep the top and just cut around the side I say a shape up he says no haircut I'm like okay no problem. He uses no water , no comb and decides to go full in with the trimmer and then the scissors and guess where he cuts with the scissors, the front top exactly where we agreed DONT TOUCH. Mind you I'm cracking up inside, heck I'm cracking up writing this than actually react the way he was making me want to react. 2 minutes in an uneven trim he grabs the mirror and says okay buddy you're done. I point to my left side and say it's uneven can you blend a little more he says no you just have to brush it this way. A few words are exchanged, he cuts no more and begins to take off the cover and I say "what about the beard" you would not believe the next words that come out his mouth he says I have no time. Mind you it is now not even 5:30. I say okay and stand up laughing. What am I supposed to do in this moment????????? What would YOU DO? all the things I wanted to do would involve ending up in jail so I continued on smiling and asked him how much , he pointed at tbe sign "$35" . At this point of writing this story, I got distracted, it's 6 hours later and I just took out my own trimmers and fixed up the "$35 haircut" All I'm saying is DO NOT FOR THE LOVE OF LIFE GO NEAR THIS PLACE. You are literally better off shaving your head bald than interacting with this low life of a human, literally. The man is dead inside. And if you go there you'll end up with at least a story like me that you will tell at the bonfire with your great grand children about Michael or Anthony, whatever his name was lol. Never ever again. So I didn't know anyone who can start my dreads and came upon this place on Yelp…read moreas well as several others. I was contacted fast by this location and we set up a meeting and etc. I informed him that I am hard of hearing. He ensured me that all his clients are treated the same and I was in good hands with him, I believe he's the owner. I wanted the girl who was getting a lot of clients but I'll have to wait 2 months for her so I went with him. When I got there it looked beautiful. All these people getting gorgeous dreads and it was black owned, which I love. He was nice at first and asked what I want. But that did not last. Let make this short. He burned me with hot water twice, was jerking my hair and I told him like 2 times it hurted. The dryer was so hot I told him like twice it burning me. People kept looking at me while he was doing my hair as if they was talking about me ( he know I'm hard of hearing) which wasn't cool. I was in there for 4 hours and my head hurted so bad. My babysitter was like what took so long. I basically wasted like 200 dollars . I hate going to the salons cause something always go wrong. But this was the worst experience I ever had and it really traumatized me that I will NEVER EVER GO TO A SALON AGAIN. I am writing this because I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. If you are different than others don't go here. I started my dreads on my own . The one he did looked like shit . He clearly didn't know what to do with my natural hair type . He even kept asking me if I had a perm. My hair worked better with gel. I wax. I have soft curls. My dreads look really nice due to ME. I did like 3 attempts before I got the look that I wanted which is free. If you want to start dreads. Please take my advise. Do it yourself.
