I had a tear in the fabric of my 2010 Prius's driver seat. It was an eyesore but I wasn't prepared to spend hundreds of dollars at the dealer for its repair. I found Frank's online and spoke with Francisco. Minutes later I was on my way to the shop for an estimate. After careful review, he noted that this particular fabric wasn't available to them (likely since this is a relatively new model). He mentioned I could have it done through the dealer, however they would probably outsource to him anyway and charge heaps of money for the whole job. I asked Francisco if there was another option and he suggested they could stretch the fabric and I'd simply see another seam across the seat. I chose this option figuring it couldn't be too bad, and he mentioned that it'd be hardly noticeable. The price was right, too, easily saving me a couple hundred bucks. We agreed that I'd drop my car off the following morning and it'd be ready by lunchtime. This morning I brought my car in around 8:30 and the shop was already hard at work. I was delighted when Francisco offered to drive me to my office a few miles away. Excellent service. My car was ready on time and the work looks great. Francisco was honest and a pleasure to deal with throughout. At no point did I feel the slightest bit taken advantage of and am happy to write a positive review. The soft top for my 2001 Kia Sportage was falling apart. Since it never rains in SouthernCalifornia, we took it down, stashing it in the garage where it sat gathering dust for nine months. But with El niño approaching, it was time to finally take action and get the soft top fixed once and for all. We were worried about how much the repair would cost, but Frank only charged us sixty bucks! The adhesive holding both layers of material had worn off as well, but Frank agreed to stitch it up in such as way that both issues were resolved. We took our aunt's classic Mercedes there to replace a seat panel that had worn. Frank was honest and straightforward so we left the car with him. When we got it back the seat looked brand new. Frank does excellent work and I will definitely use him again in the future. read more

I'm really grateful for Frank and his shop. I have a 20 year old BMW Z3 that needed new seats. I had looked around and found few used seats in good condition. Upholstery rates in general were also pretty high. Frank happened to have a pair of used (but in good condition) seats at his shop from another project that fell through. I was in luck and he gave me a very good deal. He initially tried to put them in on my racks but since they were sport/M edition seats, they wouldn't fit. It sucked for both of us but he offered an option of using the leather and fabric from those seats onto mine (which took about a days worth of labor). I had to bring the car back another day but he only charged me a nominal extra fee to cover his worker's cost. When I got the car back the new seats were in, they look and feel great AND he fixed a seat shifting issue which is common in roadsters and many low to the ground cars. He replaced the bushings in order to fix this issue on both seats, other car shops were charging around $500 for this service. Thanks Frank for you hard work and friendly personality. read more

there was a plastic in the rear of my car that was making noise. I asked my mechanic, he said it's an easy fix and referred me to Frank telling they can fix it in no time. I came, talked to him, he said he can fix it, it will take about an hour, but I need to come the next day and leave the car for them to fix. Next morning I took my Lexus to him, he filled the papers took my phone number and told me he will call when it is ready. I had to ask my coworker for the ride to work. At about the lunch time I called: "Frank, is my car ready?" "which car?". "Lexus, that you should fix that loose plastic" "Oh..., not yet, we didn't do it yet." "When will it be ready?" "in one and a half hour" "What time do you close?" "about 5 o'clock" "OK, Please call me when you are done so I can pick up my car" at about 5:30 pm no calls, so I called. "Hi Frank, what's the progress on my car?" "I don't know, they checked the plastic, but now it still makes a noise" "So what happens now?" "I don't know we need to put some sponge under that plastic for it not to make that noise." "OK, how long will it take?" "About 45 minutes" "Can you please do it now, I'm done with my work and need to pick up my car" "no we are close now, and I'm not there" "how about my car" "do you need to pick it up?" "Hell, yes" "hold on" then he calls his coworker on the other phone, they speak some Spanish, then he tells me: "your car is in front of our shop, you can go and pick it up" " Is somebody there?" "No everybody is gone" "how do I get the keys" "the car is open and the keys are inside" "are you nuts, how could you leave the car on the street open with the keys inside? what if somebody stills it?" A car battery leaked in the back of my suburban and ate away half of the carpet. Frank and his guys took care of it in one day. Dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. They did a great job and it looks spot on. I highly suggest going there for any interior needs. They do carpet as well as vinyl and leather, and all with a smile! read more

I ordered a new convertible top online for a 1999 BMW Z3. After calling a number of local places for an installation price check, I brought the top to Francisco at Frank's Auto Upholstery. Absolute perfection on the service and the work! I brought it in my 2009 Lexus IS250 to have the driver seat customized. The seam on the seat was so thick it was causing me leg pain. I was a little skeptical when I went to see Frank for a complete leather seat re-wrap on my 15 year old BMW. My main concern was matching the new leather with the rest of the interior. He was very honest with me and explained that it would be challenging to match the color perfectly which I understood. He was very respectful and seemed to know his business very well. The work took a few days longer than what he had anticipated because he wasn't happy with the way the work looked half way into it. He started over again with custom leather that he had to get matched by a factory. Basically he went out of his way to please the customer! Where do you find service like this anymore? Look no further, this is THE BEST auto upholsterer, hands down, in all of Los Angeles! I have a '64 Ford Falcon. My first project was replacing the convertible top - outstanding job, done when said it would be and great price! Francisco will spend the time with you to go through everything you need to go over, make excellent recommendations, is honest and comes through with what he promises (and MORE.) Second project: complete reupholstering, rebuilding seats, recarpeting interior and trunk. Francisco was amazing from beginning to end. We spent a long time going over my options, which would I be more happy with, which is more durable etc, he really cares and wants you to be completely happy with the results. Made a date, took it in, came to pick it up and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! Plus he threw in a bunch of items (like reupholstering rear 1/4 panels and armrest consoles, repainted various other orig vinyl that was worn-looking etc) because they needed it. I found after driving off my seat was built up a little bit too much so I called him and he said no problem at all, I will fix it for you however you need it to be. This guy is wonderful to deal with and the quality of his work is outstanding and his prices are SO reasonable!!!!
