My driver's seat was badly torn, Frank gave me an honest appraisal of my options. He ended up replacing sections of the front seat and his work is beautiful! He did it in the time he said and everything was ready when I got there. I really encourage people to try him out, he is an old school craftsman running his own business and he clearly loves his work and having customers driving away happy. read more

I normally don't review on Yelp, but I think that Frank and his team deserve a shout out. I drove up without an appointment to get a quote on having my seat cover replaced on my Subaru Forester. Frank gave me a fair quote and said if I gave him a day's notice and dropped it off in the morning he could do it. Two days later I dropped it off at 9A and got it back at 12:30P. He did a fantastic job. He even suggested some leather conditioner (without shaming me for not using it prior). I also saw some vintage cars they were working and they looked great too. It's nice to know there are still good artisans who love their job, do quality work and charge a fair price. read more

My Subaru Outback leather seating was cracked and there was a growing hole. Frank was the best. He looked at the seat and gave me a very fair quote. He ordered the leather and it looks brand new! Frank gave me a fair price on a fix on my cars door panel. I did not expect for the work to come out looking this clean, I thought it would be noticeable but I can't even tell someone repaired the tears on the leather. I highly recommend his services for any tears in your car's leather. It beats getting a brand new panel for $1,400 dollars at the dealer. He finished the job for $350. read more

I was completely blown away by the impeccable work done by Franks Auto Upholstery. I had been living over a year with a torn ratty leather center console in my VW BEETLE that had completely come apart, dreading the cost to fix it. The dealer and body shops all quoted $600-$700 to replace it. Then one of them suggested that an auto upholstery shop might be able to fix it. I went on Yelp and saw that Frank had a great rating and over 50 good reviews so I decided to let him look at it. He told me he had 30 years experience and gave me an extremely reasonable estimate and an appointment for the very next day. When I picked it up after a few hours, I was completely shocked and delighted,. It looked factory new! No one would be able to tell that this had had work done to it. He used beautiful matching leather, precision stitching, and I can tell it's going to last forever.on my adorable "forever" car". I wish I had more auto upholstery problems because now I know an amazing craftsman that I would trust with any job large or small. read more

Frank and his team did an awesome job on fixing my 2011 BMW driver seat! I love it! Thank you so much Frank!

What a great place to do business with ... Highly recommend Frank's for any of your upholstery needs. I came in with my 2015 VW Jetta where the drivers seat "leatherette" was torn in a few spots and starting to separate at the seam. Frank did a very thorough assessment and was honest about his quote, recommendations and time. The work was excellent and felt like I was stepping into a new car. They gave me exactly what I needed and I feel that is worth the price you pay for this specialized field. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking to get an internal element of their car fixed! read more

I brought in my 2013 VW Golf to get the center console frame replaced. Mine was starting to deteriorate, which seems to be a problem with a lot of European cars from that time. I brought in an after-market replacement and asked Frank his opinion and for an estimate on the labor. He was super honest with me about what they can and can't do, and what might happen if the piece didn't fit (they would still have to charge me for the labor). I totally understood this and appreciated the up-front and transparent communication. Frank and team completed the job that day, and while the piece didn't fit perfectly (due to it being a sort of cheap after-market purchase and not an official VW replacement), they did a fantastic job and I was satisfied with the result. Frank and I chatted quite a bit about upholstery businesses in general, and I really enjoyed his candid and honest insight. TLDR: Fair pricing for the area and quality work, honest business. read more

Frank was so accommodating when I just showed up. He told me the work required an auto electrician. The auto electrician told me I needed to go back to Frank who diagnosed my car. Frank's Auto Upholstery - Repair patch - Auto Upholstery Near Me - Glendale, California

Francisco was so professional and friendly. After being frustrated with a sagging headliner, I took my car to their shop yesterday (Monday) and got it back today (Tuesday). It would have been just a day but his source for the material didn't have it so they had to get it somewhere else. The work was impeccable. I will bring my other car here to get some torn leather repaired on the arm rest. This shop does headliners and interior upholstery. Probably more that I yet have to discover. Thank you, Francisco and staff! read more

Brought my car to have the convertible top repaired. My mechanic recommended Frank's place. He was fast at diagnosing the problem. What wasn't fast was ordering the parts. Took way longer than expected however that has nothing to do with the shop. Supply chain for auto parts is out of control. Communication was so easy during this process of waiting for three different parts. Returned my calls and answered all my questions immediately. Expert repair friendly guy. Customer for life! read more

No hustles. Delivered as promised. Finished product impeccable. Good as new. Will recommend to my family and friends.

They replaced some damaged upholstery in my LC500 and they did a great job. They initially underestimated how much effort the job would require, but stuck to their word, and didn't change their price on me midway through the project. The end result appears to be well done. read more

Thank goodness for Yelp, I had called around searching for a mechanic that does auto upholstery but couldn't find one until I searched this app and read reviews and found Frank. I cannot thank Frank and his team enough for replacing the roof of my convertible after a large part of a tree fell on it and ripped a foot long tear over the driver's seat. I stopped by for a consultation and he was very kind and took his time to show me exactly what needed to be done. He even cleared out a drain on my car door that I didn't even know existed when I told him how the door had filled with rain water during a recent storm. He gave an affordable quote and we got started. Before the new top came in, there was going to be another storm so he asked me to stop by and kindly put a patch over the roof to protect the interior. They replaced the top in record time, I couldn't believe how quickly. I didn't need to have a rental car for long at all. The quality of the new top is fantastic, it looks beautiful! Like a new car! Wow! He also added some cushion to my driver's seat back chair when he noticed a piece of metal was protruding. It is so much more comfortable now! I was so used to it that I hadn't even realized how uncomfortable it was before until I sat in the newly reinforced comfy seat! Frank and his team of mechanics went above and beyond and were just so incredibly kind and supportive. You can just tell Frank is a really good guy. We even had a lot in common and got to talking about life and purpose and how our brains work, we are both fans of Dr. Joe Dispenza and his teachings, ha! I appreciate you and your team so much, thank you Frank! If you're looking for an auto upholstery specialist you can trust, Frank is your guy. read more

Frank completely restored my 87 VW Golf headliner. He recommended the best materials and completed the job in just a few days. I found Frank here on Yelp. I gave him a call and left a message. He immediately returned my call. I told him I need to have my driver seat fabric stitched back up. He asked me to text him pictures which I did. He called as soon as he got them and explained everything he would have to do and gave me an estimate. We set a date for me to bring the car to him so he could look at the seat in person. Because he is by appointment only I made an appointment to bring it in on a Monday morning. I dropped my car of that morning at 9 am and he had it finished by 2 pm the same day! Great customer service. Would definitely recommend. read more

"I have a 2014 Mustang convertible, and the convertible top was starting to tear a little bit. I couldn't find anybody to repair it, so I decided to have it replaced. I went to the dealership, and they wanted over $3,000. Finally, I found Frank Upholstery on San Fernando Road in Glendale. Right away, I could tell Frank was a pretty good, straight shooter, so I had him redo the top and put a new one on. He did a fantastic job. It was a pleasure dealing with him. He answered every text that I sent to him. Just 100% on his game, and I am very pleased with his work. I would definitely go back to him and highly recommend him." read more

Terrible experience with Franck. I asked him to have a look at my Porsche 964 to replace the whole carpet from white to black. He quoted 1200 USD with imported fabric or 1050 USD with local fabric, and told me he 'had a lot of experience in those cars'. I shook hands with him for 1200USD. He took the car. A week later he dropped the car at my local shop in Silverlake with an invoice of 1450 USD. When I gave him a call to have some explanations, he told me : "Yeah but we had to do the center console and the door pockets", which I answered: "Yes it's part of the carpet set, remember I asked you a quote for a carpet set and you said you had a lot of experience on those, plus if there was extra charge, why don't you just give me a call to get my approval first?", which he answered a very arrogant manners : "I don't deal with you anymore I deal with the shop where is your car", which I answered : "Fine then, did you give them a call then to get the extra cost approved?" which he didn't even care to answer, just letting me know I was "bothering him" in his work and that would be 1450 USD and if I was not happy it would be the same. Well, first of all I ended up NOT paying the 1450 USD but the 1200 USD as planed, and second I promised him to write down this review to make sure other customers would not get a similar experience. I own several classic cars, and I always have some in restoration. In the past I always used New Life Upholstery on Venice and never had any problems with them (I did 6 cars with them). I did 2 cars with Franck, and both of them let me with a very frustrating and bad experience. You just don't shake hands at 1200 USD and present a 1450 USD invoice at the end, if you are professional like you say you are, you know what "full carpet set" means. read more

This review is so long overdue and for that I apologize to Francisco. I had my little '95 Nissan p/u recarpeted with a new headliner about a year ago. The job was excellently done and a bargain for the quality. Other places might be a bit cheaper but Francisco's quality is up there with places that cost two and three times what he charges. Additionally, I was in a rush to drop my vehicle off in front of his place on San Fernando and I totally forgot to clean all the junk out of my car! It was 5am and my co-worker was waiting for me honking the horn. Francisco and his guys cleaned up all my junk and put it into several bags for me. Talk about above and beyond. Recommended without reservation. Top quality. read more

I had a tear in the fabric of my 2010 Prius's driver seat. It was an eyesore but I wasn't prepared to spend hundreds of dollars at the dealer for its repair. I found Frank's online and spoke with Francisco. Minutes later I was on my way to the shop for an estimate. After careful review, he noted that this particular fabric wasn't available to them (likely since this is a relatively new model). He mentioned I could have it done through the dealer, however they would probably outsource to him anyway and charge heaps of money for the whole job. I asked Francisco if there was another option and he suggested they could stretch the fabric and I'd simply see another seam across the seat. I chose this option figuring it couldn't be too bad, and he mentioned that it'd be hardly noticeable. The price was right, too, easily saving me a couple hundred bucks. We agreed that I'd drop my car off the following morning and it'd be ready by lunchtime. This morning I brought my car in around 8:30 and the shop was already hard at work. I was delighted when Francisco offered to drive me to my office a few miles away. Excellent service. My car was ready on time and the work looks great. Francisco was honest and a pleasure to deal with throughout. At no point did I feel the slightest bit taken advantage of and am happy to write a positive review. Part of me even hoped that a coworker would have some upholstery damage so I could recommend Frank's. Don't hesitate to call these folks if you need work done. read more
