"But," he offered, "you can use the $180 toward the purchase of a new model." Instead of doing that, I watched a single youtube video about fridge repair, then bent down to look for the part of the fridge that was making the obviously broken-sounding high pitched whine, then googled its part number and bought a new one for $45. That fixed it, instantly. I didn't even need a screw driver. So their business model, it seems, is to half-ass the repair in order to lock you in, and then they sell you a new one for much more money than you'd pay elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if they then refurbish your old one and sell it on the side.

The cost of the machine was 550 and I decided to buy a new machine of a different brand.

I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. Alex, the owner failed to show up for…read morean appointment. He did not contact me beforehand, nor did he respond to texts I sent asking whether he was still coming. I finally received a text from him after I posted on a neighborhood Facebook page that he had ghosted me. In his text, Alex sent me a photo of a living room that had been severely damaged by a fallen tree. He represented the photo as a current image of his own living room and said he had been rescuing his children, taking them to the hospital and dealing with water damage that created a risk of electrocution. He ended the text by writing: "Yes that's more important than ur fridge." The problem is that this photo actually appears in a news article about a Canton resident whose home was damaged during a severe storm in 2020. Missing an appointment is one thing. Failing to communicate is another. But sending someone a photo that appears to have been taken from a years-old news story in order to explain a missed appointment raises much more serious concerns about credibility and professionalism.

My LG washer didn't drain anymore. Living in Newton, I called Home Pro Appliance on a Sunday, and…read morethe repair person came within an hour and a half exactly when expected. He quickly assessed that the drain pump was not functioning correctly. He gave me a honest quote, and he asked if I wanted to make the repair. In addition to making the repair well, he spent time to check that the washer worked after replacing the part and that it did not leak before closing the washer up. He then moved back the washer in place even though I am the one who moved the washer in the first place. He gave me a 1-year warranty on the repair as he used a genuine LG part. He was professional and courteous. I would definitely call Home Pro Appliance again for any appliance problem.

I'm very happy with the service received from Pete's Appliances. Pete visited my home, diagnosed…read morethe issue and provided steps for me to take to order the replacement part (under warranty) from LG for my noisy dishwasher. I texted a week later and Pete stopped by the same day to do the work using a spare part he had in his warehouse. (Said he'll backfill the part when it arrives from LG.) I found this to be very customer-centered and considerate. Also, I completely forgot that when I first called, I had asked about mounting my dishwasher properly (The previous owned never mounted it because the counter top is granite.) so when I discovered that he had taken the time to properly mount it, I was pleasantly surprised. No more rocking back and forth when opening the dishwasher door. It's little things like this that make a difference. Dishwasher is working great. I feel like Pete went the extra mile.
