My family and I went to frankies and bennys for my sisters 30th birthday, and I have to say the whole experience wasn't very enjoyable. We had reserved a table as we were a big party, 10 in total, and we were placed on tables pushed together to make 1 really long table so it was hard to converse with each other without shouting. The restaurant was busy, with happy birthday being played every 10 minutes or so, which didn't help with the fact we were all so far away from each other nobody could hear each other. When it came to ordering drinks I was refused a beer, as I looked too young, I was 26 years old with a big beard. I have not been ID'd for a long time and did not have it on me. Despite everyone declaring I was old enough I was still refused! This put a dampener on the party a little. When it came to the food, I am slightly picky and only like certain things, I asked for an fried egg which I had to pay an extortionate amount for, and when it arrived it was undercooked. I sent it back and got a replacement which also arrived undercooked. Needless to say I did not bother asking again and just left it. Some of the other members of the party had problems with their food too, ranging from meat not been cooked as specified, some of the food being cold, and it did not even all arrive at the same time! Some arrived 5/10 minutes after others! The waitress was young and in my opinion inexperienced, and they also put the tip on the bill which I found cheeky! When I got up for a cigarette I noticed outside in plain eyesight were rat traps all around the building, which put me off. Out of all of the restaurants I have been to, I have never had as much of a disappointing experience as I had at frankies and bennys! read more
