First thing to note is that this is not a place to go on a first date. There simply is no way to…read moregracefully eat their burgers or wings without slathering face, fingers and possibly eyebrows in the vast amounts of sauce dripping from everything they make. It's probably why you're given a roll of kitchen of roll instead of napkins when you sit down. When we first arrived it was queued out the door, ok it's a small entrance way but that still meant there was at least a dozen people ahead of us. Thankfully we were quickly ushered inside and while we still had a 15 minute wait for a table for 4, and we could spend that time at the bar. The bar has a decent selection of the usual favourites. It's a bit short on good beer/ale but does have Brooklyn larger on draught. They also have their very own larger, which to be honest was unimpressive. It tasted very weak with no strong flavours and a distinct lack of hops. I would describe it like sex in a canoe, f**king close to water. If you're a Bud or Coors lite drinker you'll likely enjoy it. But you don't come here for the booze. The burger menu was impressive, the smallest they do is a double and every burger comes with a long list of toppings. Some crowd pleasures feature, candied bacon, pepper jack cheese, BBQ onions, but there are also some weird and wonderful additions such as crunchy pretzels, frazzles (yes the crisps!) and even beerios, which are some sort of beer infused cheerios, they only appear on their breakfast burger. I had the river phoenix, a double cheese burger with bacon, BBQ onions, chipotle sauce, baconaise and the aforementioned frazzles. The burger was delicious, the meat was good quality and well cooked, although it did get lost under the vast amount of different toppings. As sides we had their chilli cheese fries and suicide wings. The fries were excellent, a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. They were cut to just the right thickness and had a nice crunch while still being fluffy on the inside. There wasn't quite as much chilli as I'd have liked but other than that the fries were perfect. However I was disappointed in the suicide wings. I'm a big hot sauce fan and they were pretty mild. I would have liked for them to have been a lot hotter. I was expecting ghost pepper heat and only got Jalapeño. It's not full waiter service as you do have to order and pay at the bar. But the staff were pleasant and the queues were short so I didn't mind. Our four burgers (3 doubles and a triple), two portions of fries and a portion of wings came to a very reasonable £40.

That's until I came across Almost Famous in Liverpool. The Triple Treat is a 3 cheeseburger beast topped with bacon AND pulled pork! They've got wings coated in fiery 'suicide' sauce and chips laden with cheese and chilli. Portions are huge so come hungry, and leave very satisfied! No table service - this a DIY venue but worth the trip!

My experiences at this restaurant have never been disappointing; maybe that's because I seldom go at peak times and I tend to usually order my favourite dishes. Any meal with fall-off-the-bone saucy, meaty and juicy ribs does it for me; absolutely divine and you must try them if you haven't already. If you are unsure where to go to eat whether or not you're alone, Uncle Sam's is a definite recommendation - there is a choice of food that would suit everyone including kids menus plus they serve breakfast all day! Their portions are also liberal and prices are more than reasonable. Uncle Sam's is simple in design both from the outside and the inside, not to be underestimated for its quality and fine service.

I have been on a couple of occasions and both times had a completely different experience. The first time the food was fab, real honest homecooked food with real generous portions, and all at a great price. The second time was a trainwreck... the staff were still as friendly and cheerful, however the food was not. It tasted like it had been pulled from the bottom of a freezer. I've given three stars because I don't know if the first day was a one off excellent day, or if the horrendous meal was a one off bad day!

The record store is on the small side - don't expect to find any deep cuts. On the other hand, they had multiple genres represented and the size of the hip hop and indie sections were quite large for the space. I didn't have a need to interact with the staff but appreciated the hands off approach (I don't like to be pestered when I go in a record shop.) So pop in if you're in the area--maybe you'll luck out!

Full of memorabilia and nostalgia, this is a nice chilled pub both day and night. It consists of a basement, ground floor and upstairs, none of which are particularly spacious, but it's one of those places that no one minds rubbing shoulders with the next person. There's not a massive choice of drinks, but enough to cater for everyone. The music ranges from 60s onwards, and there is a jukebox that everyone seems to make use of, as well as some old fashioned sweet and nut machines - 20p for a handful of pistachios and then you can cause murder throwing the shells at people! Not somewhere for a lively night out, but at the same time, not always the best place for a quiet chat, especially as they tend to have the music quite loud. Still, if you want your Beatles fix and you're nowhere near Mathew Street or the docks, this is a good alternative.

They served up a fantastic matcha latte, and Liz got a cappuccino. I thought this place was a fine place to eat breakfast, or if we wanted to get a coffee or tea to go. Liz and 'Em had pancakes... although it looked like smaller portions they were filled quickly. I had a morning brekkie with meat, which came with toast, bacon, a small tub of beans, roasted tomato and spinach, and toasted eggs. It was all pretty delicious. The server offered sauces (hot sauce or ketchup). I was pretty content with the food. All types of folks come in and all are treated the same. If you're up around the area - or on the way to the World Museum, stop by.

To be frank I can understand why because this place has class and really is of a very high calibre indeed. There are two very different sides to Tribeca; with the gorgeous fresh and creatively topped pizzas prepared centre stage in an open kitchen on one side, and the busy, exciting atmosphere of the bar after 11, once the clientele stop munching pizza and start guzzling cool cocktails and shots. The surroundings are retro and don 70s style patterned wallpaper with an old gas fire and heirloom-like lamps which make you feel oddly at home, as though you went for pizza at your nan's house. And yet the open-plan nature of the layout with stairs on either side of a large open space leading up to a more cosy eating and drinking area give it a contemporary look. The bar stretches the length of the room ready for the buzz of people, clamouring for the cheap booze (spirits under £2.40) and DJ nights until 3am! With pizza and a bottle of Peroni or such like for under £8 I'm certainly not complaining! Especially for the guys, they put on all the footy so added bonus if you're out and don't want to miss the match!

Throughout the summer and during the world cup the atmosphere here has been very patriotic and quite frankly second to none which is saying something when you take into account the volume of the competition. The ambience inside this place is great and the decor is also adequate enough making for a very enjoyable drinking experience. As prices in the city centre go this bar is reasonable and the pints are of a good quality which is obviously of the utmost importance. The staff are welcoming and friendly and seem to want to ensure that you will return here time and time again and they certainly did the job on me. It can take a while to get served but that is down to the volume of people inside and if a place is busy then you can be sure that they are doing something correctly. To be unfair, the fact I had no problem with it may have had something to do with how my group were the only bunch of customers in the building. The chances are incredibly high that everywhere I've ever hated is all down to the number/ quality/ ugliness of the clientele. I'll have to recheck this drinking hole when it's full.
