I loved my whole fish (Forelle) from the local area and it was excellent. The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted nice. We had apple rings for dessert another local dish and it was ok. I was led into a charming dining room on the arms of three strong gentlemen, and Peter had us seated at the very front table to avoid more stumbling around. The decor, the lighting, the comfortable seating - this is one of the coziest restaurants ever. The service was beyond compare as was the fantastic food. There is an entire menu page devoted to different schnitzels! My husband and I each chose one and had to share because they were both so delicious. The salad must have been picked moments before presentation with a homemade vinaigrette, the spaetzel melted in your mouth and the Apfelwein, a mellow honey gold, was the best I've had in years. The room was in a good state of repair and nice clean bedding.No breakfast. the people working in here spoke a small amount of English and I speak only a small amount of German, but between us we managed very well. The hotel is over the road from an old church, and the bells ring at 6am every morning - these do wake you up and the bells seem to ring and ring and ring !!! I would stay here again, Seligenstadt is a beautiful place and well worth the visit.
