Love our Frankfort library. The staff that works here are so helpful and friendly. It is open and welcoming to all different ages and groups. I come here several times a month borrowing/ returning books for myself and my son. Meeting a tutor to work. Book sales. Various events to support our library. A true gem of our town. read more

In Frankfort, apparently it is all happening at the library. Classes, book club, author visits and even books! It's just very cool to walk into a library and find it hopping. All kinds of people doing all kinds of things. People willing and eager to help you out and machines that will do the same thing. If you have never gone to see an author speak about his or her book, this is the place to start. It's usually a smallish group in an intimate setting with other people who, gasp, also read. And at the end, they reward you with delicious treats. What's not to like? Come on over to the library, it will restore your faith in government services, your tax dollars at work and a literate population. read more

I really love the Frankfort Library especially now that I have Z. Many of their programs and resources are targeted at families with children or senior citizens. Previously this drove me nuts as I didn't fit into either category, but now that I'm on the other side, I love it. My husband takes Z twice a week to library class where they read books, sing songs and work on playing and sharing with other kids. I'm so appreciative of this program. It is free and it gives Z a scheduled outing with socialization. She loves the staff there and everyone is super friendly and inviting to both kids and parents. In the summer they also have outdoor programs for the kids on Fridays and this is another way to get out and be with other kids. In addition to the kids programs, I even check out a book or two. Checking them out is the best. You can reserve the books you want online and then come pick them up. Easy Peasy! It is the returning them on time that always gets me. In fact, I think I have fines right now. I better get over there before the cops get me. What? You didn't see that episode of The Middle? read more

Great library and perfect example of how our tax dollars help us all. While I don't go there often, the author talks which I have attended have all been worthwhile and enjoyable. The selection of authors is very diverse and interesting and the staff does a great job with refreshments. Now if some of the audience members could ask an actual question instead of raising their hands just to hear themselves speak, these presentations would be even better. I'm a bookworm, so I've been to my fair share of libraries growing up and as I've moved. This is by far the least user friendly I've ever seen. First of all, the way they shelve nonfiction books is ridiculous. They think it's cleaver, but the Dewey decimal system has been in place for many years and with good reason. If I want an informational book here, I request it instead of getting frustrated trying to use their system. For how many renovations they have undergone recently, they refuse to have a drive up book return connected to the library. They are so against this, they removed their metal book return they had outside the library. I don't know why with the conveniences of today, they cannot be time and user friendly. My mother is handicapped and I have to return books for her because it's extremely difficult for her to have to park and walk all the way to the building entrance to return a book. Lastly, I have been highly disappointed by their new upgrades including making the computers all the way in the back instead of conveniently located, and removing the nice wooden library tables and chairs for the equivalent of bistro sets that they think can fit four people ant. They could barely accommodate my laptop and a book. read more

I wasn't thinking about coming to Frankfort to study, but I thought that it would be pretty quiet... but man was i wrong There was constant screaming from little kids. People DO NOT KNOW how to whisper here, INCLUDING the workers. NONE of the workers told people to keep their voices down, and I am in complete shock that these people are not doing their job. Frankfort, you gotta get your crap figured out in terms in noise level in the library. it is completely ridiculous and sounds like a zoo in here. I definitely dont recommend coming here for studying. read more

It's a little old and bland compared to Tinley library, but it's well kept, quiet, and clean. And what more could you really ask for? All the librarians are nice and helpful, and there is plenty of tables and chairs to sit at and read a book or use your laptop. Many kids from the surrounding schools often come here to study or have tutoring sessions, and with all of them it still maintains a quiet environment. read more

Being a mom of 2 kids under 3, I don't have time to read myself. But we frequent the library for the excellent children's section and free classes that my toddler loves. The gal who runs the classes is great, really an asset to the library. Every class is interactive and well paced, including crafts each week and sign language. The kids section includes puzzles, videos, and music to check out in addition to a great book selection. The atmosphere is open and comfortable for bookworms. My aunt also attends a book club that she enjoys there. read more

Great staff, child and adult programs are wonderful, computerization and technical equipment is modern and resources are up to date.

You really need to get a drive thru book return there. It is my only complaint about your facility. I was amazed when you took the one you had away. It was a tremendous help to handicapped people like myself.. It is hard to walk from the parking lot all the way to the entrance to return a book. Please bring it back!!! read more

I was very disappointed in Frankfort Library it does not compare to surrounding libraries, the book choices are minimal, I often cannot find authors that I have read in paper back, and wished to read more of their work, i go to Tinley Park their library is fantastic , having said that, i love most of the people that work at our library, only one person was rude to me , but i don't see her very often so no problem. ihoped that when they extended the library we would get many more books, after all it is a library, I was very disappointed when they filled it with computers. read more
