In particular, in the past year, Dr. Chen performed two cataract and two eyelid surgeries on me. Prior to the surgeries, he clearly explained the various procedures including risks, likely outcomes, details of the surgeries, and recovery/follow up steps. The surgeries themselves went extremely well and the results were even better than I had hoped for. For the first time in thirty years, I did not need glasses for reading and every day tasks. This was a major improvement in my quality of life. In addition to his impressive professional skills, Dr. Chen has always exhibited a sincere commitment to my personal well being. I strongly recommend Dr. Chen to anyone seeking the highest quality eye care.

Remarkably, his front desk staff and technicians have all been with him since my first visit, creating a consistently warm and friendly environment. I called the office to question the discrepancy in the amount and was told that the charge was for the retina imaging. I was not informed of the additional cost. I'm a self-pay patient and have been since the beginning of my time with Doctor Olafson. I've stated it in every visit I've had with her. Recently, she keeps telling me that my prescription isn't "covered" and neglected to do her research when ordering blood tests, making sure I could afford them. Although I made a following appointment with her last year for this current year, her office asked me whether or not I had made an annual appointment for a follow up and I had to tell them, that yes, I did. So, somewhere, someone isn't doing their job and I am falling through the cracks. I no longer feel heard or that I matter to Doctor Olafson and her staff. I will be looking elsewhere for care.
