After two weeks I decided to go ahead, he fixed my car, in line with the original estimate and it passed the NCT. Also, he very patiently answered all of my questions and put up with me agonizing (a lot) about whether I wanted to get the car fixed or not. He also did a major service and charged a reasonable price for it + the car is now driving better than ever. 2,500 miles later the car is still great. All, in all an excellent service.

I was told to return at 5:30pm to collect it. When I came back, the cleaning quality was mediocre at best. Several obvious stains and dirty spots on the seats and doors had not even been touched. However, that quickly became the least of my concerns. The car was still sitting inside the automated wash area and, far worse, it would no longer start. Multiple electrical warning lights had appeared on the dashboard and the engine would not turn on at all. There had been absolutely no issue with the car before handing over the keys, so the fault clearly happened while it was in their possession. I contacted David, the owner, just before 6pm after unsuccessfully trying everything possible to start the vehicle. His response was disgraceful. He pretended he could not hear me on the phone ("Hello? Hello?"), abruptly hung up, and immediately switched off his mobile phone. From that moment on, he completely avoided taking responsibility. Mohammed and Khan at least tried to help, but they were simply employees with limited technical knowledge. Meanwhile, David and Tracy were contacting them privately instead of speaking directly to me themselves. At around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening, the business closed and I was effectively abandoned there with a dead vehicle and no support whatsoever. My family and I already had plans to travel to Dublin early the next morning, so I had no option except to urgently call my mechanic. After several hours, he arrived and discovered water infiltration into an electrical control module caused during the cleaning process. The repair cost me a substantial amount of money. The lack of professionalism afterwards was just as bad. I called the main company number on Sunday and was promised a callback on Monday, nobody contacted me. I then spent days chasing David, who repeatedly made excuses: first he was "going to a funeral," then he was "driving on the motorway," then he promised to call back "tomorrow." He never once followed through. It became obvious he was simply trying to avoid accountability and waste my time until I gave up. This business showed complete disregard for customer property, customer safety, and basic professionalism. Taking payment upfront is clearly their priority; accepting responsibility when they damage a customer's vehicle is not. If you value your car, your time, or your money, avoid this place entirely. I would never trust them with any vehicle again.

My husband and I had a tour of the Wild Atlantic Way on our bucket list, and Chris and Elaine worked with us to put together a week-long route, together with wonderful pre-booked lodging for each night, and kitted us out with some easy to handle Royal Enfield's and saddle bags. In the USA, I'm used to riding bigger bikes with lots of horse power, but in Ireland, you really don't want a bike like that. Royal Enfield bikes are great on petrol, have plenty of power to keep up on the motorway, but are simple and easy enough to handle the narrow tracks and twisty roads of the Irish coastline. We travelled from Adare to Cork, then along the coast, winding up in County Clare before completing our journey, and no mishaps or problems at all. We had been given a loaner Irish mobile in case of any questions, and we used it a couple times, and there was Chris or Elaine ready with an answer. When it came time to return the bikes, Elaine and Chris were on-hand, eager to hear about our trip, and clearly loving what they do. I have rented bikes in New Zealand, done the Pacific Northwest rides, and have experience with a lot of cross-country riding, but have never had such a pleasant and thoughtful experience as I had with RetroVentures Ireland. A company is only as good as its people, and if you choose RetroVentures, you get some very good people to help you. If I ever move to Ireland, I'd likely buy a Royal Enfield from Chris and Elaine. Meanwhile, it's nice to know where to have the best motorcycle rental in Ireland!
