I ordered a bouquet for my daughter's birthday to be delivered to her school. In the special instructions, I requested delivery at a specific time because I knew she would be there. Unfortunately, the flowers were delivered late and left outside in the cold and snow. I contacted the shop and spoke with Ellen, who was kind and understanding. She initially offered to send a replacement bouquet at no cost; however, by that time my daughter had already returned home to the West Coast. Ellen then agreed to issue a refund. I followed up twice over the next several weeks to confirm this agreement. After a full month passed with no refund, I called again on January 9 and spoke with Frank Gallo. During that call, Frank was loud, dismissive, and rude. He ended the conversation by saying, "Okay, you pulled one over our heads--nice job." He then called me back to say that I had left a "bad taste in his mouth," criticized the way I spoke to him, and suggested that it was somehow my daughter's fault that the flowers were left outside. I ended the conversation by clearly stating that the error was the company's responsibility, thanked him for finally deducting the charge from my bill, and hung up. Never again. My husband and daughter ordered flowers for 84 birthday to be delivered in the morning but no later than 1:30. I had to take my husband to PT at 2:30 and waited until 2:00 to get him and is rollator in the car. I will add that my daughter called them several times to let them know of the time limits. As I was pulling out of the driveway at 2:16 your driver blocked my car. He came up and said he was there to deliver the flowers. I explained that we had an appointment and had to leave. He then went back to the car and talked with a woman in the car. He then came to the car with the flowers. I explained that we had to leave and that they were supposed to be delivered by 1:30 and we had to leave. I have Parkinson's so don't move very easily and could no way go back to the house and take them inside in a short amount of time. I reiterated a hundred times that the dominoes were supposed to be made of flowers and instead I got them made out of styrofoam and whatever circular thing they made spray painted horribly black. Horrible!!! Again and again and again! Third Mother's Day in a row they have not delivered the product I purchased on FTD.com. When I call the number on their website for customer service it just rings and rings and no one ever picks up. I went through this the last two years and implored FTD to stop using these people. I purchased a $100+ bouquet of all pink roses, carnations and other flowers and ended up with only 3 roses, a few other assorted flowers that were damaged, dirty stinky water and something that couldn't have cost more than $20. The proof is in the pictures below of what I purchased and what my Mom received. Last year they delivered a second 'free of charge' bouquet and it was worse than the first one!!! After no reply from Frank Gallo, I received a marketing email from them last week and replied how dare they contact me given their lack of response to my inquiries regarding my Mother's Day bouquet. They wrote me back, claiming my emails had gone to a spam folder, which, whatever, but what WAS impressive was that my mother contacted me to let me know she had received the most beautiful flower delivery and asking if I had sent it. They had gone back and created the arrangement I thought I had purchased for her for Mother's Day and delivered it to her. It was exquisite and everything advertised on their site. I really appreciated that they did this. I honestly don't know if I will order from them again, especially at a high volume time of year like Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, but I did really appreciate the effort to make something right, especially so far after the fact. My husband ordered an arrangement for me, for my birthday, but because of his work schedule didn't see it until 2 days later. By then, the lilies, which were not properly cared for, prior to arranging (the Anthers were not removed so they were dropping pollen), were already wilting and looked pitiful. My husband mentioned purple Alstroemeria, as the arrangement he'd ordered showed purple Alstromeria (my favorite) but I had to inform him that there wasn't a single purple Alstroemeria present and hardly any Alstroemeria to speak of at all. The most disgusting, inappropriate joke of a business. I ordered a bouquet of peach and pink roses, ranunculus, and greenery to be delivered to my mom. What was delivered was a lackluster bouquet of white gerber daisies and carnations. After requesting a refund through the third party company I ordered them through due to inaccuracy, I received a call from Frank Gallo personally, demanding that I make the recipient leave the flowers on their doorstep for him to pick up the next day. He proceeded to call me a scam artist and said that I was "wildly out of line" for requesting a refund for his unsatisfactory work. He then proceeded to say "you must be a liberal" and "it's people like you that are ruining our country." I will NEVER use this company again. An absolute fucking joke. read more

I typically view long Yelp reviews as a sign of instability but this was the worst consumer experience I've ever had. Here is what your special occasion floral delivery from Frank Gallo will be like: Sending surprise flowers to a loved one at work? They will receive a random phone call in the middle of the day and hear "yo I got flowers come outside" they will then, confused, have to put down their work, get up from their desk, walk outside their office, and stand there, watching someone park (that's right, they called from the road.) and emerge from a smoke filled vehicle, pull a bouquet, covered in plastic, from the back seat, and enter their lobby to hand it to them, plastic still on. The delivery person, and the flowers themselves will reek so intensely of marijuana, they will make your lobby, and your office once you bring the flowers in, also reek like marijuana. Cherry on top: the smell will intensify ten fold after you remove the plastic. But that's what happens when someone is smoking a joint inside the car your flowers were in...a joint their passenger was still smoking in the car as they sat outside my place of business. My colleagues who walked through the lobby in the hour after this individual was inside (for 30 seconds) complained of the smell. My colleagues who were stepping out to lunch at the time of the delivery said walking past the car was like hitting a brick wall of pot smoke. I wasn't even comfortable having these flowers on my desk they smelled so strongly of marijuana. Receiving flowers from this florist was 100% stress and 0% fun. The individual who ordered me the flowers called & complained Their way of making it right was sending another delivery- seems fair right? AGAIN, though, the delivery person called me in the middle of the workday, from the road.... Why! This takes all the fun out of getting flowers. How could a florist not understand this? Delivery people come and go from our office all the time...There's no reason to call from the car unless you feel that your time is more important than the individual you are delivering to (aka the paying customer...who is busy working...) All I remember from this is Experience is having my workday interrupted several times, and my workspace/office smelling like marijuana. Also, the arrangements were anemic at best. Aint nobody got time to get flowers from Frank Gallo I have had surprisingly excellent experiences receiving deliveries from 1-800-FLOWERS so I'll be sticking with them going forward and recommending the same to anyone I know. read more

I have used this florist for over 13 years and to be treated the way I was recently..I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to use them again. i ordered flowers for my mother's funeral 10 days before I needed them. The night before the funeral I stopped my the funeral home to check them out and they were wrong! They delivered 2 out the 3 arrangements and when we called about the 3rd one they told us they were delivering it the next day AFTER the service would have been over! To top it off..not 1 arrangement included my mother's favorite flower. the OWNER's solution was to ask if it was ok to SPRAY PAINT the flowers missing! When I called to discuss compensation with the owner, I was told I should have been happy with what they did for me and that it was "unreasonable" to expect them to correct it the night before the service. I then met in person with the owner to review the order and the pictures..4 minutes into the conversation the owner started screaming at me at the top of his lungs telling me I was "crazy". "Needed medication". "I should be institutionalized ". Funny...on their website they state 100% satisfaction. Not sure having a man scream at a woman and bully her is proper business etiquette. The fact he won't take responsibility for the mistakes, attacked my character and flat out insulted and tried to intimidate me..well-be careful if you choose to do business again with him. Received an arrangement from Gallo & Son last week. The flowers themselves were beautiful. This has nothing to do with the skills of a florist though. Of course a florist will use beautiful flowers. The arrangement itself was quite pretty. However when I went to change out the water and trim the stems, the stems were criss-crossed and wrapped in a lot of tape. It was difficult to remove the tape and unwrap it from the roses. I lost quite a few leaves and bent some stems. A florist who advertises themselves as an older and established business shouldn't need tape to make an arrangement. Besides the beautiful flowers, that deserved better handling, the other highlight of my experience with Gallo & Son was their friendly delivery guy. When I didn't answer he called and was very patient about my needing a couple of minutes to get to the door and was in great spirits despite it being about 100 degrees outside. read more

I ordered a fruit/food basket for my parents and was very disappointed that the cookies and crackers in the basket were stale. I spent good money on the basket to. This was an Easter gift for my parents since I live in another state. I use to work for Frank Gallo and the quality of their product has definitely gone down hill. They also promised to deliver a different basket of fruit, nuts and pretzels and that never happened. What happened to quality customer service and pride in your product! I ordered flowers a week in advance to send to a friend who was grieving the loss of their son. I had ordered customized roses, and also customized the time of the day they would be delivered. That very morning the roses were to be delivered, I saw a post on Facebook, saying the family was going to be out of town for the week. Frazzled, I called the Frank Gallo Albany location and spoke to a very professional and accommodating man. My order of flowers was already on the delivery truck to be delivered, but the man allowed me to delay my order (even though I had customized roses) to whichever day I would like. I ordered a Mothers Day arrangement through Teleflora to be delivered to my Mother. The arrangement looked nothing like what was advertised on the Teleflora site. There were so many flowers jammed into this vase that some of them weren't touching the water. The vase looked like it came from the Dollar Store. After taking phone numbers and email addresses for both me and my mother,which I assumed would aid in the delivery process, they left the flowers outside in front of the garage.
