She was absolutely correct! We have used 4 different firms in the area and Duke And Heath definitely stand out from the crowd. They have had Zero surprise bills come up. It has been exactly the price quoted we have used them twice and are very happy! They get results fast! They are definitely Not a bottom basement price firm. But i do Not want the most affordable lawer I want the Best I can get for my money and These guys are that!! I feel like every penny we spent was money very well invested!! We have been to court with a low cost incompetent attorney and learned our lesson. Pay a little more up front and you don't pay latter. Thanks again Duke and Heath!!

Come trial day both came and sat with me and came ready. The other attorneys that were spectating (not involved) all came afterwards to congratulate them on a job well done. It was a job well done for sure. I had no idea how much he had put into the case until it was over. From this day forward if I need representation in a courtroom I'd be a fool to go anywhere Duke&Heath. This makes it the 3rd time he has pulled a rabbit out of his.....hat for me.

All the other firms said they would be able to win our case, but after listening to them we understood that they really didn't understand my husbands industry and what he was being charged with. A couple of firms would not even meet with us in person unless we agreed to retain them and pay a fee or they wanted to meet us at a bar. We were able to meet with Mr. Smith in person before retaining him and Mr. Jacobs and he spent over an hour listening to our concerns, explained the processes, and hurdles we would possibly face. At the end of the meeting Mr. Smith explained that they would take care of our case so we can go back and live our normal lives again. Overall we felt very well taken cared of, all of our questions were answered no matter how small, and even though it did take a long processes due to COVID closing the courts in the end Mr. Jacobs was able to have our case dismissed. We would recommend them to everyone who is ever in need of a criminal lawyer.

Terrible group of lawyers. Scott basically forgot about my case multiple times. I retained Scott…read morebefore having to move out of state while the case would be waiting to be placed on the docket. All I heard for two years from this group of lawyers was "not yet, still waiting", etc. After the date that the statue of limitations for the case had passed, I called Scott to verify that the state had failed to prosecute within the time frame allotted. It's a good thing I called, because apparently the case has been brought before the court and prosecution had been set in motion months prior to this and Scott and his team had no idea. After that surprise, this team of lawyers fumbled around and finally presented me with plea deal that they said was the best they could do if I wanted them to handle the case while I was in absentia. The only other option would be to fly back to Georgia from California to await trial. I reluctantly accepted the plea bargain which included Community Service, attending a class, and paying a fine. I submitted all proof of completion of my part of the bargain. Scott and his team took it to court and had it signed and sealed, and told me that the case was resolved. Fast forward to a few months after that. I get a call from Scott's office telling me they "made a mistake" when they told me the case was resolved. They messed up the paperwork and failed to include in the plea deal they presented me with that the court had requested I take another class. There was a probation officer waiting on paperwork as proof for completion of a class I was never informed I had to take, months after I was told the case was resolved and over with. I tried my best to find a class and complete it in what time remained before the probation officer put a bench warrant out for my arrest, but there simply was not enough time. If you want someone competent enough to handle your criminal case, do NOT choose Scott W Smith, "Peach State Lawyer". Not only is he kind of a dick to his clients, he is wildly irresponsible and forgetful and is just (barely, if at all) going through the motions for your money.

I recommended a friend who is not from the Carroll County area to Mr. Swindle as I had used his services back in 2021. My friend who I recommended was charged with a dui in September of 2024 and we did not hear back from the Swindle team until October 2nd of 2025. Despite our many attempts of reaching this law group Tana was unprofessional and rude, and that was in the rare event she actually picked up the phone. Jason Swindle was supposedly in the hospital due to heart complications, and Steve guaranteed us an outcome we would be satisfied with, verbatim he assured us if we didn't like what they offered he would work with us to an outcome we could be happy with. Again, we had not heard from this team for an entire year despite our immediate $3500 payment. We went to the court hearing October 3rd 2025 which was postponed due to the arrest of Jason Swindle the day prior. He had shown up to court intoxicated, ironically. The court date was once again postponed to September 3rd 2025 and our new attorney was his partner Steve, who showed up disheveled and smelling of alcohol. His appearance was that of someone they hired off the street and his actions were not any different. He stared at the ground the entirety of the time in front of the judge, there was no representation and no defending my friend after our payment, our time, and our many attempts at reaching out. Tana, Steve, and Swindle are dishonest, uncooth, and greedy. They couldn't care less of the outcome of your life. They are in it for the money, it's like play attorney and they are just bad at it. Save yourself the headache with this group. There are many better attorneys in the area, Duke and Heath and Duffee are more appropriate representatives. Jason, I hope your poor excuse of rehab to evade jail serves you well, or doesn't, as much as you cared about the outcome of my friend is the amount of care I will give to the outcome of your health and time. Also, who shows up to court DRUNK after spending a year in the hospital, LIAR!
