We came to this custom framing shop with a very specific request and a tight deadline--we needed something completed within a week. The location isn't the fanciest (a bit of a rougher neighborhood), and the owner has a straightforward, no-frills demeanor--but don't let that fool you. I'm so glad we gave it a chance. The project was incredibly meaningful to us: we wanted to frame our son's varsity letters along with the printout recognizing that he was a 12-time varsity athlete--something we felt deserved more than just a letterman's jacket. And wow, did this man deliver. As we talked more, I quickly realized that what initially came off as reserved or intense was simply someone who takes his craft very seriously. He walked us through every single step of the process with care and precision, making sure we were included in every decision. He even FaceTimed us late in the evening to double-check small details--something you just don't see anymore. He listened to every concern, considered every suggestion, and made sure the final piece was nothing short of perfect. He even redid a part of the project because he wasn't happy with how it came out--and thank goodness he did, because the final result blew us away. He also printed and added photos we emailed him at the last minute without hesitation. This is a true small business, run by someone who pours heart, skill, and integrity into every piece he creates. We are absolutely thrilled with the finished product--it's exactly the kind of tribute our son's hard work deserved. And a quick tip: get the art glass. It's an upgrade, but it makes all the difference in clarity and presentation. Totally worth it. Support this small business--you'll walk away with something meaningful, personal, and beautifully crafted. We can't recommend him enough. read more

Jim is a nice guy, and I think he means well... and let me tell you his work is the BEST in town. Whats fustrating is the constant moving of the completion date. After I agreed to the date of my completed project, and it (was kinda time sensitive) I kept getting nothing but pushback and excuses. Finally after telling him I was coming down on a Friday and picking up my stuff completed or not, is when it was done. Bottom line.... A+ Work... Price was fair.... but taking a week turnaround and turning that into 5 weeks was not good. Clearly he has enough business to handle, so im not terribly concerned about his yelp rating. If time is no object, then this is your place... if time is a concern then go somewhere else, you will not get your stuff when he says its gonna be ready. To me that was a deal breaker. read more

I took an insignificant sepia photograph of a very beloved great-aunt, along with an antique convex glass frame, to James Farr, to see what, if anything, could be done...I had been looking for someone that could work miracles! Mr Farr went above and beyond anything I could have imagined! He chose the mat colors, designed and executed the art work on the mat and paid every attention to deal...the final product looked like a million bucks....and yet, his price was fair and reasonable! Highly recommend him and left another project with him! read more

I had a vision for my wedding for a non-traditional guest book. I had a picture in mind that I wanted framed with mat large enough for 200 guests to sign. I came to Frames by Farr with my idea and they made it better than I could have imagined. They helped me pick out the best colored frame and style along with the color of the mat that complimented the photo perfectly. I'm forever grateful for my beautiful guest book picture that will hang in my home forever. read more

Based on other great reviews I gave them a call for a couple jerseys to get framed. Met with Jim at the shop where we walked me through the plan for the layout and such. Pride was reasonable for the amount of work involved. Took a few weeks to complete but beyond worth the wait. Work is perfect. Better than I could have ever imagined. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again in the future. read more

I Recently had a custom made commemorative keepsake created and framed by Farr for my father of the ELO concert we took him to in August of 2018. We had mentioned we were lucky enough to be in the bands group photo that was posted on their website and that we had our tickets. No more information was given and what we got was AMAZING!! It was more than we could have ever dreamed of! Our tickets were included in what looks like a 3D frame so they will never be lost or forgotten and our photo was found and blown up to be included along with the tour information showing the stops of the 2018 tour. Couldn't have asked for more and my father was blown away with how creative and the exceptional quality it all was. My dad said it was by Farr (no pun intended) the best gift he's ever gotten. read more

It all started with a piece of original art I bought online, it arrived as just a stretched canvas so it obviously needed something. Because Jim owns and runs his business himself his overhead must be low and I can only assume this is why his prices are so reasonable. I told him what my budget was and I aimed low as I figured he might try to upsell me a bit. It turns out that Jim was completely willing to work within my budget and promised me he could do something really nice in spite of what I was looking to spend. A few days later and I had the final product and I was thoroughly impressed by his work. Jim made a double frame and hand painted the inner frame with an accent color to match the art. What a difference this detail made. The painting looks beautiful in the frame and it was less expensive than i could have imagined. I have since had Jim frame 10+ pieces in the last year and I won't go anywhere else. Jim cares about his work and his customers, he will come to you and deliver and mount the paintings. Bottom line: Great customer service, great prices, and real quality and attention to detail. Highly recommended! read more

I came in on March 30th, and paid the full amount in advanced to have a small photo framed. Today is June 5th. I've stopped by the shop twice since to check on the progress. Never was done. Never received it. I'm STILL waiting. Wondering if I should just eat the loss at this point. Update: Shortly after I posted my review, they contacted me, and then they finished my picture within a couple hours. Still not happy about the two month wait, however he did do a great job. read more

Excellent job! My sons jersey turned out amazing and the custom work on the Eagle and school logos looks so professional, much better even than the logos at the school! Very reasonably priced for the sheer size and professional look of the frame. Would highly recommend! read more

I was pretty weirded out by wanting to get a professional frame done. I've never had one done before but since it was a Metallica concert limited edition lithograph from my home town I decided to treat it nice but didn't know what to expect... Jim walked me through it and was very passionate about his work some stuff I got others he was looking and smiling saying "trust me." HE NAILED IT!!! It looks so great! I hung it up it looks so awesome! Seriously looks like a 1000 dollar job! His price was VERY fair and I was expecting to pay double of what I did (not near 1k lol) it really is the Nicest thing in my house I have to change my Decor to match the beauty of the frame! Thanks again Jim and I will see you very soon! I've got more stuff to frame up! read more

Jim did an outstanding job on our team project! Highly recommended, top notch quality work, and completed quickly and efficiently. Jim was easy to work with, quick with responses to our questions, and was able to put together an awesome frame with logos, a uniform shirt, and a high quality photo. I would highly recommend Jim for any of your framing needs. The recipient of the frame said it was one of the best he has ever seen. A++++ work. read more
