I went in for the first time early March (2013) to get a print framed for a donation item for a silent auction and brought in personal items for the house. They spent the time helping me find a frame that would accent the red in the photo (it was taken in Africa) and also helped pick a great mat for it.--which I recently found out they upgraded to museum to really help elevate the photo! I brought in 4 other canvas paintings to get stretched and framed. And after much discussion and playing around, they really helped me come up with the best options for the pieces and didn't pressure me at all. I ended up getting one stretched on canvas and the other 3 mounted on foam core and framed (best decision ever for these 3). They really did take the time to make sure I was happy with my decision! And another thing, I brought in a very sentimental piece from my trip and it was probably the most difficult to pick a frame for but they still pulled as much as possible and helped me come up with a decision that I was very very happy with (I swear it was at least an hour!). I have to say, these guys really do understand the art of framing! I went to go pick it up and was floored by how beautiful it turned out! I loved it and would recommend taking the time to let them figure out what you like and go from there. If you go in with an idea, they really can run with it and their selection is so vast that you really can trust their recommendations and simple tweaks. Truly, the art of framing is mastered here!

It's so much cheaper than anywhere in the city, but it's a long way to drive. Convenient location is why I chose Mill Creek. I have only seen women working in this shop. I'm very impressed. They are highly skilled.

I often pass by framing shops in the malls in Edmonton and never go in because I worry it's out of my price range or that im going to be subjected to high pressure sales tactics. I have never had these worries at Black Gold Gallery and Frame. The owner is a lovely woman who is friendly but content to leave you to browse if you tell her you are just looking. A little known fact about this place also is if you are a Bradford exchange fan they will place an order for you if you see something you like on the website and will do it through their own account which is great if online shopping makes you uncomfortable or you don't have a credit card. Just make sure you have at least half the money to put down on your purchase and they will call you when it arrives. They were very understanding with me the last time I made a purchase and it took me three days to get to Leduc to actually pick it up. I only received one extra reminder phone call and not once was I ever accused of trying to flake out on paying them the other half of the money. These folks have been around since 1993 and with great selection and unbeatable customer service it is easy to see why. If you are in the Leduc area and looking to add to the decor of your home make sure to give this great small business a look and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Now, I am not an expert on art by any means but I do enjoy it. This store is wall to wall pictures, paintings and sculptures by famous artists like Thomas Kinkade and Robert Brateman. They have amazing pieces that are just visually pleasing but can also be appreciated at a deeper context. The store is very expensive and regularly holds sales. This is the kind of art that people who can truly appreciate it will lay down big bucks for. I wouldn't mind a piece or 2 in my house either. Even if you know that you aren't going to buy anything from this store it is definitely worth going in and looking around. Looking at the different pieces of art is really worth it.
