The personal involvement to ensure the family was completely satisfied went beyond my expectations. If I ever have an opportunity to work with them again, I won't hesitate.

(http://extension.psu.edu/northampton/events/northampton-county-open-gate-farm-tour-2014) Lots of neat things going on here: * They have their own beehives which give them honey to sell and also a means by which to pollinate their trees which help to produce the annual bounty of fruits & veggies. * Animal pens/coops for their ducks and for their chickens. These are needed both to protect them from not only the weather but also from predators. You know the old cliché of the fox in the hen house except here they also have had an issue with a weasel. (The animal and not a person or a politician.) * They press their own UNPASTEURIZED APPLE CIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is hard to find and the version they make here is very good. They use a minimum of seven different apples to create a "signature" blend which changes over the season by what types are available. At the pressing house you can see the operation where they wash the apples twice while discarding any which are severely bruised/do not make the cut/make sure that all leaves are gone. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=977965792228941&set=vb.176947865664075&type=2&theater * They grow a lot of different things over the course of the year. The star of the show being the fruit trees which include their apple & peach trees (some of the apple are 100+ years old) along with growing tomatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, onions, squash and peppers. But of the course the best is for last with the produce stand/gift shop where you can buy any of their available produce, various homemade baked goods (pumpkin roll!!) and of the course the fresh pressed cider (Holla!!). They also have a full flower shop on the premises that shares space with the produce stand. While Baarda is a bit out there for us to make regular trips the stuff we bought was all top notch, the family we met super nice and we hope to a few visits next year to enjoy the many great things that they have to sell. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Baarda-Farms-and-Denises-Design/176947865664075?fref=photo
