I discovered Fragile Heart CPR by searching for IN PERSON classes THROUGH AHA, only to sign up & find out "due to covid, it's virtual." What should normally be $85 (on average) ends up being $125. I only agreed to this bc the 'closest' IN PERSON locations aren't so close. You receive the link for the videos and exams after you pay and they ship the box with inflatable "manikins" (mannequins.) *see attached photos* The AMBU bag doesn't even line up, there's no rise/fall of the chest. Not that it matters, you'll just say "give breath, look for rise/fall of the chest, continue with compressions" during the skills test part. You get a bracelet that blinks red until you've reached the desired compression rate and then it flashes green. There's nothing given for AED, you just need to state where to place the pads. They claim free shipping to send the box to you (so why am I charged $125?) and then to send it back -- YOU have to pay ($15.50) to do so-- unless your postal carrier advises you of the correct box to use and it will still get there the same time and you get a tracking number ($10.50 ***if in PA.) I will say this: any time I sent a text, I received a response within 24hrs. I received my card-- which is/was the goal, but I just don't like the idea of BLS classes being VIRTUAL and more costly! It doesn't make sense and it seems unprofessional. Also, upon returning the package, I learned that ANOTHER one was delivered to me. My postal carrier and I REFUSED the shipment. I called the company, they advised that there are no additional charges that sometimes more than one package goes out for the same person. Now you know what to expect. MAKE GOOD CHOICES! There were a ton of hidden fees I wasn't aware of until I had already bought part one. It is $85 for rental and $35 for the online class. You also have to pay for your own shipping to mail it back. Over all this cost me $140 total. I needed this for work so I was not thrilled about spending $140 before getting paid. It also felt weird getting certified on zoom with 8 other people at the same time. I feel it would be better to have a one on one certification because I noticed some mistakes that were not caught. When I get recertified I think I'll use someone else. It's unfortunate because it seemed like a great company, but the hidden fees and certification seemed off. read more

They offer shady cpr certifications. I paid $85 to sign up, and it was impossible to get ahold of them! I loved to idea of a completely remote classroom due to covid. Once I got ahold of them, I was told to buy an anytime kit to complete the training. I thought this was odd and called the AHA. I was told the anytime kit is not approved because there are no feedback devices, as well as BVMs etc. I was even told they are trying to get people to do cpr with a water bottle and pillow. Lol. What a joke. Aha needs to shut them down. read more

This company is a scam!! I took a CPR renewal class over Zoom on March 14th, and returned their equipment 2 days later via USPS, on March 16th. I believe I paid $85 for the course. 99 days later, on June 21st, my credit card was charged $345 for "not returning equipment"! I called and emailed and it took a while to get the owner, Tracey Tarver, on the phone. She said without the USPS receipt from March, she could not refund me. When asked why I was being charged 3 months later, she said "we re-inventory our equipment every 90 days." I don't know if this is a common practice with businesses, but it seems like a horrible idea to wait 90 days to see if your equipment has been returned. I believe she waited so long to charge my card because she knew I wouldn't keep a shipping receipt that long and therefore couldn't prove I sent the equipment back. After informing her that I was reporting her to the Federal Trade Commission and FBI Internet Crimes for fraud/scamming, she texted me at 2AM to say she miraculously found the equipment. However, she said I returned it late. According to the website, the rental is for 10 days. She told me the date she shipped it to me and the date I shipped it back and I realized she gave me a total length of 2 days! When I told her this was not possible (and she realized she mixed her story up), she finally agreed to refund me the remaining amount. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

Do not use this company. The male instructor for the course was topless while teaching. Certification is easy enough. When you send the equipment back, never throw out the USPS receipt proving you sent it. The company claims you never returned the equipment and will try to charge you hundreds of dollars in fees. read more

Do not use this company. The website states you have a total of 10 days from the time the website ships you the package and for them to receive it back. My package was shipped August 19th and I received it August 20th. The class was unprofessional and more than half of the participants present did not have the rented equipment that was "required" for the class. If this is your first time taking a BLS course go else where for more accurate training. I shipped the package back priority mail August 24th, spending $16.95. A total of 5 days had passed. Days later, my account was charged the $80 late fee for them not receiving it. I emailed customer service letting them know that I shipped the package back within the time frame, providing proof of my receipt and tracking number. Tracey Tarver had emailed back and said, "I understand this is not your fault so I will refund $40.00 to your account but there's not much more I can do even though it is the post offices fault". I called the office to speak with someone about this, beings the late penalty was not my fault AND was confirmed by Tracey stating it was not my fault. Tracey was the one who answered my called and reiterated that it was not my fault and "it was not her fault either" and it was still my responsibility for the late charge. So even if it is the post offices fault for delays that you cannot predict yourself, you will still be charged regardless. I was told the refund can take 7-10 days. Hopefully I at least do get $40 back. On top of all of that, there are multiple hidden fees. You "need" to spend $85 on renting the equipment, $35 for the online portion of AHA class, and then the $16.95 for priority shipping back to them. A total of $136.95 if your package actually gets delivered back to them on time. If you have the time to go to an in-person class, GO! You can do a quick google search for "AHA BLS class locator near me" and a lot of recommendations populate if you live near a city. I searched a class after all of this and I would have only spent $60 and a few hours in-person. This company was only recommended to me since I travel for work. Just go to an in-person class and save yourself from this unneeded stress. read more

I took my Cpr class online. They sent me the equipment and I sent it back to them in between the 14 days time frame. And after almost 3 months they took 345$ out of my account and emailed me that they have not received the equipment. I had the ereceipt in my email. So i pulled it out and tracked it and it says that it was delivered within two days after in sent it. I sent them my proof of receipt, and asked for my refund. And i have not got any answers from them. The customer service is horrible. read more

I paid $95 to take an American Heart Association BLS CPR class through Fragile Heart and I would NOT recommend this company. The class was conducted over zoom which I was fine with but the instructor was driving while she was teaching the course. Very unprofessional in my opinion. The customer service is extremely poor, the communication is just awful, and I was charged $160 for the CPR equipment that I did in-fact return. While I was trying to get the refund from the CPR company, they were impossible to reach and didn't seem to care or want to help me. I even sent the company my receipt from the CPR equipment package I mailed out and I still did not receive any form of communication of the company's end. I called the company 4 times and they told me the same thing every time -- to open a dispute with my credit card company. Overall, I would NOT get CPR certified from Fragile Heart ever again. read more

Do not use this place! Every ten days they charge you for equipment rental (they include the 4-5 days shipping takes in this) then when you go to schedule the class, are full for days. I took my test (first available appointment) and shipped the equipment back the next day. They charged me a late fee but agreed to refund it. 20 days later they still hadn't refunded me after multiple attempts and then charged me another fee. Tracking shows they had the equipment back for 7 days at this point. I asked for a refund and they called me names, texted me at all hours of the night with aggressive and rude messages and they blocked me, all because I asked for my $120 back. They had the equipment. They still wouldn't refund. I had to call my credit card and dispute the charges. Don't use this place. They scam you out of money! read more

I wish I would have listened to the reviews that said this business is shady, because it IS!!! I took the class 8/15/21. When I signed up they said it was in person, which I quickly learned was not the case. I took this course over zoom and it was a JOKE. If you need an easy update, this class is for you. If you are hoping to learn something, this class is NOT for you. Now to the shady business. After taking my class 8/15/21, I returned the supplies as instructed on 8/17/21. I kept my receipt for a couple months but as time went by I tossed it as it said it arrived. Well after absolutely no word from the company, I see a charge on my card for $145 on 1/31/22, over 5 months after I took the class!! I had no idea what this could be from so I called the company 2/1, 2/3, 2/5 and left messages. Nothing! I then go the website the next week and submit a message there, you guessed it, I heard nothing!!! Someone finally answered 3/11/22 and told me the charge was for "unreturned" items. After spending all morning on the phone with UPS, they tell me after 6 months they can't look up past shipments. Really convenient that this company waits almost exactly 6 months to charge you with absolutely no attempt to contact you first saying that they never received their supplies. They had my phone number and email address and absolutely nothing. And nobody even answers the phone to let you know what those charges were about. I contacted the owner and showed her my bank statement from the UPS store mailing it out over six months ago, and she told me this wasn't good enough. Only a shady company would wait six months, conveniently outside of the window that UPS can verify, to charge you with fraudulent claims. I will be reporting them to my bank as fraud as many people have experienced this same thing!! If you want to save $145 (after already spending $125 for a garbage class) and actually learn something, please find another cpr class!! read more

Would give a 0 if I could. I have never written reviews but this is necessary. They tell you that the 10 day rental period is extendable if you call them in advance. When I called, they said they won't do that and they will charge me first but I can call them again to get a refund for half of the price. I managed to ship them the rental equipment back in time in order to not get charged. But! They called me, accusing me of a missing equipment (which they never included in the first place by the way and I notified them and followed every instruction to make sure that is clear). The lady was very rude and confrontational when I told her that I have included the note that states that an equipment is missing. After several minutes of arguing with me, she clarified with her coworker and proceeded to blame him for it. She didn't even apologize to me at the end of the call. Really frustrating customer service and money focused organization. read more
