Slight loss in points for the lower quality bun on my burger. Lastly, the beer. Cold and appropriately carbonated but the brand of beer I ordered tasted "weak" and seemed very light compared to other establishments. Overall an above average experience and I will return.

The food was pretty nice as well -- the flavours were balanced, portions were average size. There was nothing extremely noteworthy in what we ordered -- chicken club, Reuben, beef dip sandwich, and basic bacon burger. There was a little too much sauerkraut in the Reuben, but the whole grain bread was delicious. The Dinosaur Stone Fruit Sour Brew was phenomenal! It was 100% deserving of the name. Finally, the service here was passable. Our server did her job and had a good attitude, but got a few orders mixed up, didn't check up during the meal, and brought only a single check when we had planned to split. Not the best, but pretty okay. Overall -- rad vibes, solid food, and lots of room for chatter. Recommend!

I got here on a Sunday night and am currently staying at The Josie Hotel for 3 days. I was so…read moreimpressed with the quality of my dinner, I've been eating here for every meal. I know there are other restaurants in Rossland but having a fantastic restaurant literally 1 minute from your room makes life a lot easier. So far I've eaten 2 dinners and 1 breakfast meal here. I plan on eating at least 2 more meals here before I leave to go back to the United States. The first night, I had the roast beef special of the day, which was described to me as sliced roast beef with gravy by the bartender Savannah. She was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. Upon receiving it, I realized it was prime rib, which made me more excited. It was served with brown gravy, broccolini, and carrots. The gravy was superb and added just the right saltiness to the prime rib. It was a nice cut with plenty of meat and a small amount of fat. The broccolini and carrots were cooked to the perfect tenderness. I did order a mocktail, the Ruby Fizz, because I wanted a tart drink. Grapefruit and lemon were the primary flavors and it was magnificently refreshing. The next morning, I opted for the more expensive breakfast buffet, which includes eggs, potatoes, sausage, pancakes, and bacon on top of the nice spread of fruits, pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, and fresh fruit. As far as breakfast buffets go, it has everything I needed to tide me over until dinner. For dinne on day 2, I went a bit indulgent after recommendations by my waitress Kate. Kate was amazing; attentive, knew the menu well, and very friendly. I started off with 2 bottles of some of the best Ginger Beer I've ever tasted. Strong ginger flavor with a spicy bite. The canoe cut of bone marrow was so rich and delicious on the lightly toasted pieces of sourdough. I even used extra prices to sop up the juices in the bone marrow. Last but not least, was a slice of beef tenderloin, lobster (which I added), wilted kale, and potato pavé. The kale was wonderful. I wish I had more of it. Lightly cooked with a nice salted finish. The potato pavé was something I've never seen before. Kate explained it was basically scalloped potatoes with a crispy shell. That too was crispy, yet tender and buttery. The lobster was cooked to perfection, tender and not tough or overcooked. It was lightly seasoned and for the first time in my life, I ate lobster without butter and I liked it. The beef tenderloin was cooked medium rare and was sitting on a bed of gravy. I'm sure it was the same gravy as the prime rib and I made sure to eat up every piece. I love The Velvet. It really is a wonderful place to eat and the food is superb. Everyone is nice and I've had back to back delicious dinners that I'll remember long after I leave here. Can't wait to eat here tomorrow.

Quesadilla with chicken: This was probably my fifth time ordering and I still enjoy it every single time! The tortillas had just the right amount of crispness and the pineapple chunks added a nice amount of sweetness.

Person who shared pizza with me agreed. Someone else across from me ordered a Wrap & said that too was tasteless, only ate half. There was even a comment about the yam fries being tasteless as well. If you are going to charge high prices for food, you should make it tasty & a good bang for the buck. This was absolutely terrible eats. I won' t be back anytime soon. As comparable on my last visit to area, I had a LARGE Greek Pizza vs your Small/Med, from Boston Pizza & it was loaded & I mean loaded with Greek toppings for around $30.. and it was to die for delicious.
