This review is for NEGATIVE 5 stars. Let me explain.
The letting department as this branch of Foxtons is great. Our lettings agent, Georgina, was awesome. If this review was dedicated only to our experience finding a place a let, then it would be POSITIVE 5 stars. I phoned Foxtons regarding a listing they had and due to our price range, was assigned to Georgina. She organized four or five properties to visit and then whisked me around the city to each one of them. One was a winner and an offer was put forth.
Note: Lettings agents are, at the end of the day, sales people, so they are going to drive you to the properties via the most pleasant roads possible. They are not going to drive you down, say, Caledonia Rd. Instead, they'll take you by the Albion and other neat and safe looking neighborhoods, so do your research before putting forth an offer.
Our property is managed by Foxtons. The property management team at Foxtons is pure shit. If this review was dedicated only to our experience with Foxtons account management, then this review would be NEGATIVE 10 stars, hence the calculated overall star rating of NEGATIVE 5 stars.
Our property has been mismanaged since the day we moved in. Our "account manager" is clueless with everything from window blinds to doors to the color of the sky. I can honestly say that dealing with her has been the worst customer service experience I have had in my four years of living in the UK. Never have I yelled or been so frustrated with a single person in this country as I have with her - multiple times. Her manager, Brad, is just as frustrating, if not more.
While there have been many instances of mismanagement by Foxtons, the one example that really stands out is how Foxtons has "managed" a recent break-in on our property whilst we were on holiday. Today is the two-week anniversary of the break-in and we still do not have a date as to when the repairs will take place. The door to our flat is still smashed to hell and covered in black fingerprinting from the police. The only reason why the process has moved along as much as it has is because we were able to obtain our landlord's email address and have copied him on all communications. We have also had to explain step-by-step what actions need to take place to our account manager. For example, if, after a week, a contractor still has not supplied Foxtons with a written quote for the repairs, that maybe it is time to have another contractor assess the damage and provide a quote.
Another example in recent memory was when we returned from holiday to find the window shade in the master bedroom broken. It was broke by a potential buyer or Foxtons agent during a showing that occurred while we were on holiday. They pulled the cord to open the shade and broke it. They then placed the broken places neatly on the shelf next to the window. When confronted, they denied breaking the shade. The matter escalated to the sales manager, James, and he further denied breaking the shade. The fact is that the shade was working when we left and was broken when we returned and Foxtons agents and buyers were in the flat during our time away.
Foxtons employees are morally bankrupt. Foxtons culture is morally bankrupt. I will never do business with Foxtons ever again and urge you to stay away too.
The level of incompetence across the Foxtons account management team is astonishingly high. If you are interested in a property managed by Foxtons, just say no. And then run for the hills! read more
