Foxtail...here we go, again. I went to this location because the one closest to me wasn't accepting online orders...go figure. On a positive note, the online ordering was super-duper easy. However, when I got there, and I arrived 7 minutes after my pick-up time, my drink still wasn't ready. Shocker. Now keep in mind, there wasn't a single customer in the store. Grace, the barista, was reading the recipe book on how to make my Lavender Fog Iced Tea Shaker, as she never made one before. Which, was fine, I'm patient...but good thing I wasn't in a hurry. Extremely disappointed, barista had no idea what she was doing and asked us what the recommended drinks had in it when I got all the suggestions online"foxtail Coffee recommendations ".Ended up going to Starbucks where barista don't need the customer to tell them how to make the drink. Foxtail Coffee Co. a mix of rustic and modern that feels clean, cozy, and welcoming. The staff was super friendly. When I stopped in, there was only one person working, and since a little rush came in at the same time, my coffee took a few extra minutes. Totally understandable and worth the wait. I got the cold brew and it was strong, how I like it. They have a nice outdoor patio where I sat and worked with free Wi-Fi, which made it even better. Bathrooms were clean, and the overall atmosphere was really comfortable. I'd definitely come back here for coffee or to try their ice cream. I did not try the matcha however bc I do not offer ceremonial grade. It sounded like they have culinary Matcha. The girl working was definitely working hard, kudos to Shandi. Stopped in while visiting town and looking for coffee that wasn't Dunkin or Starbucks. This was fantastic. Trista was very helpful answering my questions. She even has a notebook of secret recipes she's come up with, so ask her about that! I hope to make it back before we leave. When I told her I was going to leave a review, she appreciated it. She said she has only received one negative review, and it was for a bad experience someone had at a different location. Anytime there is a coffee shop with a great ambiance and decor ... I'm like BOOST THIS PLACE ! There are NOT enough good place to dine or have coffee at in The Villages. This is a rare gem in this area and they actually have some nice tables where people can sit with a laptop and get some work done. OR.... you can stay home all the time... and work... It's really nice to have an upscale coffee shop here in The Villages, and to stop by when I'm visiting family here. But I've been here maybe six times and while the coffee is good, the service borders on rude every single time I've been here. You can't be cheerful or say hello or thank you? Not one time has there been any kind of helpful interaction with any of the staff. And then they have the gall to flip the terminal around demanding a tip. I'm definitely only coming back if we're out of coffee at home and I feel like being treated as an annoyance by a coffee shop clerk. read more

Coffee is great, however I do not understand why they only have one person working. It takes forever to order and then get your coffee. They literally take one order at a time. They need to have two people working in the morning. The problem is the coffee is so good that I will keep coming back and I will keep question my sanity why I don't go somewhere else with faster service. Nice setting, great shaded porch for dogs. The coffee is actually quite good, the food is just above average, very pre-made microwave warm vibe. The biggest complaint is the staff behavior. Once they focus, things are delivered and they are certainly cordial but we've been 3 times and there has been all kinds of disgruntled employee talk. Loud engagement with each other and with visiting local customers--all on the conditions of their work conditions, schedules etc. Sighs, sarcastic remarks etc as if customers are not in the room. Very unprofessional and makes the room feel very awkward. Another time, a manager interrupted a busy line with conversation and shop talk that should have waited until after a rush. The biggest pet peeve of coffee shops is when owners think that one person can run a whole place, taking order, making product, checking out. In a rush line, it's like watching paint dry. read more

First time and last time I will go. Here's the story. I went in to a new coffee shop as I wanted something better than DD. I visited the cafe and was happy to see they make French Pressed Coffee I ordered a coffee and the barista who started to make my coffee started to pull books out and started grabbing extra cups. She read the book like was filled with instructions on how to measure and how much of each. She poured hot water in one cup, she ground coffee into another cup and then it said there was she continued to read. Then she started to do things that just didn't make sense at all. French press coffee is pretty easy to make. You grind coffee, put into the press. Pour a measure amount of hot water into the press stir and let it sit for about 4 minutes to allow it to bloom. Press down plunger then pour. The girl with the pink hair told me she was new. That perfectly fine. Everyone starts from somewhere. However if you know she's new. perhaps you should be helping her. I don't blame the new girl. I'm blaming the employee with her who's pretty much saw her struggling who did nothing. read more
